Listen to his songs closely you will notice some screaming and that is because he could feel/visualize the melody but the ability to interpret them clearly is not their for him.

Most audience here listen to only beats of a song most times and they confused that for a good on the artist part meanwhile producers/sound engineer are the key for most top artist here in Nigeria.

Note; I am of the opinion Davido is a successful artist, people with passion like him succeed in what ever they set their mind, he is a good example of passionate person.

Davido statement is like David Beckham saying he is one of the 5 greatest player of all time, that is childish.

Money really push Davido up there and I must say the guy is really good at spending wisely on media and fans even to the extent of doing philanthropic work publicly (this is method our Politicians used on us here in Nigeria, he is a real son of his father.

In Music today, if the fund is available massively, the work of an artist is cut by 40%, [b][/b]There are many talented artist out there, funds is what is keeping the talent hiding; they can't afford to do music sessions and also lack money for media publicity.

Media publicity is key for any artist that what to be popular, it will cost lots of money and the media controls almost all audience.

Davido statement is an insult to Music for real music listeners.

That been said, I must really commend Davido for his passion and hardwork for his career and Burna Boy should always try and keep shut sometimes if he kept going like this his songs will have less audience as it was 3 years ago though I will still keep listening if he still keep dishing out good music.

I listen to Country, Rock, oldies, Jazz, Hip hop, RB, local, slow raps, fast raps, street raps like Young thug, Rich the kid, Rae sremmund, Travis scott, etc. I listen to Gospel songs, Indian songs, Electronic genre like Heyhihello, Avicii, Mashmello, Owl city etc. I listen to Raggae, dance hall etc.
In short I listen to every genre of good songs. I also like instrumentals including drums. I'm a fan of every good sound pleasing to the ears.
I think you got me wrong, I didn't agree with you saying voice doesn't matter in music. That's not right from any perspective. Voice is the tool of every singer. It's like an army without weapon. It's your voice you use to express your emotions and skills in music. Like I said earlier. If you said voice is not important, why then do professional singers go for voice training? It's simply because voice is very important.
Wizkid isn't that bad in Brown skin girl if you listen with the average ear, at least with the low quality music we're used to here, but if you put it beside Beyonce's professional performance on the song, that's where you begin to realize the big difference.
Then again, I never said Burna boy has a better voice than kid, I only said "it's hard to say that kid has a better voice."
It seems you rate a voice by how thin it is. Sweet voice is not only for thin voices. You can have a sweet deep voice. Jim Reeves has a deep voice but it's sweet and fits the genre he does.
Curtis Mayfield has a very thin voice but doesn't mean he has better voice than people like Ray Charles, Kenny Rogers or Brad Paisley.

You also got me wrong about my perspective on the issue of the voice of an artist, my perspectives stated below.
The voice of an artist is the not the most important issue, I said this because in one you post you are praising foreign artists because they could sing like a bird.

I believe the way you use your voice on any songs matters a lot and you must know the kind of music genre you could do very well with your voice.
This is what some artists are able to that make them stand out among the rest.

I believe Burna Boy is versatile but expecting him to sing the "Hello" track of Adele excellently like Adele is near to impossible or asking Wizkid to do Fuji music like K1 or Pasuma, that is going to be total disaster.

Lastly stop comparing African artists with Europeans artist, African artists are doing their own music which is also very good. Music World is bigger than Europe. The genres you list above are not bad but it is a pity you can't even specifically list local genres.

Let's stop this argument every artist have his/her fans which is what music is all about. Essence of Music is to give people joy through sound.

Let's say, you're not used to professional music, you're used to our local music. Try and listen to Brown skin girl few times and notice the difference between Beyonce and wiz's part of the song. It's not that hard to detect, immediately Beyonce joins the song, you should notice a great difference.

Voice is not the only thing but it's one of the major things. You're funny, how do you intend to be a good singer, without the voice. It's like watching movie on black and white TV vs HD screen. Although voice is not the only thing but it's very important. That's why professional musicians go for voice training. That's why Whitney was valuable, because of her voice. A singer with no good voice is like military with no weapons.

Between burna and kid, it's hard to say that kid has a better voice. Good voice is not about how thin it is but how sweet it sounds. Burna has a deeper voice, no doubt but it sounds sweet, especially it goes with the Fela Afrobeats genre he's into.

For the record am not a fan of a particular genre, I love alots of genres in Music, the issue of voice you first mentioned that I was wrong but good that you later admit I am right.

I believe you have something personal about Wizkid because I refused to believe that Wizkid was bad on Brown Skin Girl track.

For the Record I am a huge Burna Boy fan, in fact he is the only Nigeria artist that I rate the most because he is doing his own thing (Afro Fusion) he is versatile, good lyrically and he is very good with his voice.

Op, the voice of an artist is not really the major issue in Music but the Usuage of Voice though voice could be an advantage just like Wizkid and Burna Boy. Still Burna Boy is still better than Wizkid musically even though Wizkid have a good voice than him.

Music this days are not done passionately like before. Not performing with live band is also making our artists lazy.

I noticed that there are lots of Christians, Muslims and some atheists here in Nairaland, I have not heard of any Deist.

So I have been wondering, don't we have a Deist in the House ? or is it that some people don't know even that they are a Deist because they never really understood the term deism.

A Deist is someone who believe and practice Deism.

Religion is all about competition, things like this happens and will continue to happen, not only in the Christian world but in almost all other religions including Islam.
