PoliticsPDP Should Get Set For Louder Lamentations — Presidency by Yem0350(op): 9:23pm On Jul 01, 2015
The Special Adviser to President Muhammadu Buhari on
Media and Publicity, Femi Adesina, has described the
opposition, Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, as wailing
wailers, urging them to be set for louder lamentations.
“If PDP has begun to cry wolf where there was none on
INEC chairman, then they should be set for louder
lamentations. The wailing wailers,” Adesina posted on his
Twitter handle.
Adesina was reacting to the allegation by the PDP that the
Acting Chairman of the Independent National Electoral
Commission (INEC), Mrs. Amina Bala Zakari is
sympathetic to the ruling, All Progressives Congress, APC.
“The situation in INEC since the PDP government
reformed and granted it operational autonomy has been
peaceful, but Tuesday’s untidy overruling of Professor
Jega and appointing of Mrs. Amina Zakari as Acting
Chairman which, we gathered, was influenced by
personal relationship with the Presidency and one of the
new Governors of the North West, ostensibly to pave the
way for the APC at the electoral tribunals, has completely
eroded public trust in the commission,” noted PDP’s
Publicity Secretary, Olisa Metuh in a press statement.
“In INEC, the PDP States in unequivocal terms that we
cannot, as critical stakeholders, fold our hands and
watch while the Presidency perpetuates actions that
diminish the independence of the electoral commission,”
he added.

PoliticsPMB Sent Back 253 DSS Operatives Sent Back To State Commands by Yem0350(op): 9:13pm On Jul 01, 2015
The authorities of the Department of State Services have
sent back to state commands, the 253 operatives that
were earlier deployed in the Presidential Villa, Abuja.
It was learnt that the personnel were asked to go back to
their respective commands on Wednesday, pending
when the service would get further directives from The
Presidency on their deployment.
The Punch had earlier reported that the 253 personnel
were rejected by the Presidential Villa authorities
allegedly on the order of the Aide-De-Camp to President
Muhammadu Buhari.
According to their redeployment signal issued by the
service’s National Headquarters, some of the personnel
were to report to the Vice President’s office, some were
attached to the President’s wife, while some others were
attached to the Vice President’s wife among other beats
in the Villa.
But on reporting at the Villa, the operatives were not
allowed in by the ADC who reportedly said they were not
needed.
Following their rejection by the Villa authorities, the
operatives were said to have been taken to the agency’s
training school, Institute for Security Studies, Bwari,
where they underwent an induction process for some
days.
After the induction, the DSS authorities were said to
have directed the officers to return to their former
posting and await further directives.
“We have been asked to return to our respective state
commands and to await further directives or orders
from the national headquarters,” one of the operatives
explained.
The DSS spokesperson, Marilyn Ogar, could not be
reached for comment as calls to her phone failed to
connect.

PoliticsWike Orders Payment Of Workers’ April, May Salaries by Yem0350(op): 8:35pm On Jul 01, 2015
The Rivers State Governor, Chief Nyesom Wike, has
directed that civil servants in the state be paid April and
May salaries.
Wike said on Wednesday that the directive was in line
with his administration’s commitment to the welfare of
workers in the state.
The governor inherited the two months salary areas
from the immediate past administration in the state.
He assured civil servants that their welfare would be
given top priority by his administration.
Wike also expressed his commitment to promoting the
interest of all people resident in the state.
Meanwhile, Wike has said that funding will not be a
challenge in the state government’s commitment
towards rehabilitating and reconstructing major roads
in Port Harcourt.
Speaking during his inspection tour of the East West-
Elelenwo-TransAmadi-Garrison road on Wednesday, the
governor assured contractors that his administration
had taken steps to ensure that road projects are unded.
He charged the contractor handling the road to work
towards the established completion date, November.

PoliticsImitate Edo Tribunal, PDP Urges Lagos by Yem0350(op): 8:46pm On Jun 28, 2015
The Lagos State chapter of the Peoples Democratic Party
has hailed the outcome of the Edo State House of
Assembly election petitions tribunal which declared a
PDP candidate winner of the election.
The panel had decided the case on the neglect of the All
Progressives Congress to conduct its primary given the
21-day notice as prescribed in Section 85 of the
Electoral Act.
Commending the judgment, the party particularly noted
that the judgment came about because of the “readiness
and sincerity of the panelists” to do justice according to
the requirements of the law.
In a statement issued on Sunday by its Publicity
Secretary, Taofik Gani, the PDP said it would want the
panelists in the governorship and House of Assembly
tribunals in Lagos to carry out justice according to the
laws.
“We welcome the Edo judgment because first, it has
further strengthened our election jurisprudence that
laws and guidelines meant for elections to guarantee fair
play must be sacrosanct and observed, irrespective of
the players.
“Second, it is exciting to us because the same
contraption also occurred in Lagos State and we expect
that the panelists will also do justice and eschew any
issue of technicality aimed at circumventing justice,” the
statement said.

PoliticsBoko Haram: 277 Soldiers Languish In Jos Detention Facility by Yem0350(op): 1:16pm On Jun 28, 2015
More than 277 soldiers arrested for various offences in
the ongoing war against insurgency by Boko Haram in
the North-East are currently languishing at the Maxwell
Khobe cantonment, Rukuba Barracks detention facility
of the 3rd Armoured Division of the Nigerian Army in
Jos, Plateau State.
SUNDAY PUNCH gathered that the soldiers were arrested
at various times in the last six months in Maiduguri, the
Borno State capital, for various offences and are being
detained by the Military Police in the barracks.
Sources at the barracks told our correspondent that the
soldiers were being detained in dehumanising condition
without trial for the past six months.
It was gathered that some of the soldiers had yet to
know the offence for which they were arrested, which,
as a result, has made it difficult for the authorities to
prefer charges on them.
A relation of one of the detained soldiers, who gave his
name as Yakubu, told our correspondent that his
brother, a sergeant, had been in detention for six
months with his family unable to see him.
He said, “In fact, since he was detained, no charges have
been pressed on him and it is not certain when he will
be released. The Army authorities have also denied him
access to his family.”
In his reaction, the Director of Army Public Relations,
Maj.-Gen. Chris Olukolade, who responded to an email
sent to him, said administratively, only the Assistant
Director, Army Public Relations, Col. Texas Chukwu,
could respond to the report.
He said, “Thanks, This is administrative please. Kindly
speak to Army Public Relations. Cheers.”
Efforts made to contact Chukwu were not fruitful. He
did not pick repeated calls made to his telephone.

PoliticsTraders Protest Boko Haram Prisoners’ Transfer To Anambra by Yem0350(op): 7:58am On Jun 28, 2015
Commercial activities were paralysed on Saturday in
Anambra State following protests by traders across the
state.
The traders, who closed their shops as early as 9am in
major cities of Onitsha, Awka, Nnewi, Ekwulobia and
Agulu, took to the streets protesting what they termed
plan by the Federal Government to transfer Boko Haram
detainees to prisons in the state.
At Tarzan junction, Nkpor in Idemili North Local
Government Area of the state, traders and other
residents blocked the Enugu – Onitsha Expressway
chanting songs suggesting they would be forced to
revive the clamour for Biafran Republic if pushed to the
wall.
The traders carried placards bearing inscriptions like
‘Buhari should not destroy the peace in Anambra State,’
‘Biafra kanyi choro’ (We want Biafra), ‘Buhari, Igbos
cannot accept your prisoners, ‘We do not want Boko
Haram in Anambra,’ ‘Federal Government, why extend
Boko Haram to Anambra?’ and ‘Boko Haram prisoners
are not allowed here.’
Speaking with journalists during the protests, the
Secretary-General, Anambra State Amalgamated Traders
Association, Chief Chuma Elucharu, stated that traders in
the state decided to shut markets to protest the
rumoured relocation of Boko Haram detainees to the
state.
Eluchraru said the protests would be continuous until
the Federal Government assured that there was no such
plan.
At Onitsha, the protesters threatened to be violent
should the rumour proved to be true.
There was tension as police used tear gas to disperse the
protesters.
While addressing the traders, the President-General of
AMATAAS, Chief Okwudili Ezenwankwo, urged them to
be calm, saying further consultation would be made by
the association to get clear picture of the situation.
Also, the Police Public Relations Officer in the state, Mr.
Uche Eze, said there was no need to panic, nothing that
the police were handling the situation.
Eze enjoined the people of the state to go about their
businesses without fear of molestation.
A senior officer in the Nigerian Prisons Service in the
state who spoke on the condition of anonymity to our
correspondent, however, said they got a signal recently
to prepare to receive some detainees of the violent sect.
But the Nigeria Prisons Service has said there is no plan
to transfer Boko Haram suspects in custody to prisons in
Anambra State as being speculated.
The NPS Public Relations Officer, Francis Enebore, said
most of the terror suspects in prison custody are still
awaiting trial and cannot be moved out of the
jurisdiction of the court where they would be
prosecuted.
He dismissed speculations that the prison authorities
had formalised plans to transfer terror suspects from
the northern states to Anambra State, saying there is
nothing like that.
Enebore said, “Most of the terror suspects are awaiting
trial and so, there is no way they can be moved to
another state because they must be tried in the state
where they committed the crime.
“Apart from this, our duty is to move them from prison
to court for trial and since they have not been
convicted, how can we transfer them to other states
outside the jurisdiction of the court where they would
be tried? People are just saying things they know
nothing about, there is no truth to the rumours that we
are transferring terror suspects to other states.”

As an investor in the NSE since 1996 I have followed Warren Buffetts advice that you shouldn't have more than 10 stock in your portfolio.

I have just re-balanced my portfolio and I have 8 stock that I've invested in for long term purposes with the occasional CICO/JIJO when the opportunity arises. I am looking for recommendations from my bnsitl for which 2 stock I need to add.

In my portfolio I have:
FBNH (since 1996)
Dangote Sugar
GTB
Zenith
Access
Flour Mills
Oando
UBACAP (my wild card for speculative purposes)

Any suggestions on any 2 stock that I should add to balance my portfolio ?
