Hello,

Importers using GTbank MasterCard for payment on aliE should please help me with this question.

I paid for an item yesterday morning and aliexpress has verified the payment but I'm yet to recieve any form of notification from GTbank; no e-mail or SMS to let me know if the money has been deducted from my GTbank account.

Normally, I use UBA Africard for my transaction and once the payment is successful the money is deducted from my Africard account with an E-mail and SMS notification. I have not been able to check my account, No power to turn on my PC, I used their "checking account via SMS" and no message from them yet.

How does GTbank MasterCard works?

The payment verification was successful. The seller is processing the shipment.

Happy Christmas to all importers in the House. I pray next year brings open more channels for us.

shakol91: I followed the procedures posted by Oga bello on page 47 to know maybe my uba visa card has been activated via verified by visa correctly. Yes everything about the card was correct, the password and username for activation were both correct, but now I want to confirm from AE customer care maybe the card is ok and know how to get the money for my order that was closed. And maybe u can help me with time I can chat with the customer care and it will fall within Nigeria day time. Thanks
2:00am - 11:00am Nigeria Time.
While waiting for AE to re-fund your money you can visit your bank and complain to them.

franzis: I think he is got insufficient balance in his account
I had more than enough cash when I tried paying. Though, I have successfully paid this morning using the GTbank MasterCard without asking for Token code or SecureCode, I'm stil waiting for Aliexpress to verify the payment.

The amount I paid is yet to be deducted from my account unlike UBA Africard that deducts once a payment is made.

importexpert: gtbank and their token are frustrating alot. they gave me same problem at a point in time. i had this problem with them when both gtbank master card and their visa dollar card was 200USd each. those cards and the process involved in having them took me over 6months to complete but all was in vein. i do not want to remember that any longer
I'll just stick to my UBA Africard then. GTbank don't ever have a branch in my school.

shakol91: pls which card did you use to procure ur goods. I mean the one that just arrived. Because AE and UBA no agree refund my money back since dec 4,hope that's more than 7-10 working days now. I'm really frustrated now. I av customers on ground who are really waiting for these goods and I kept posting them, and now I look like a fool to them.
I used UBA Visa Africard.
I used Hong Post Air to ship the item for just 88cents. I placed the order on the 3rd Dec, the seller shipped it 2day after, it arrived Lagos on the 17th and was sent to Benin the following.

Canme4u: concerning your GTbank Error message

Lets assuming the name you register with is: surname Adensare First name Adegbagi other name Pako.
that is: Adensare Adegbagi Pako.

The name on the Gtb master card may be written like this:
either like Adensare Pako which is ur surname and your other name.
or Adengbagi Adensare which is your first name and your surname.

Gtb uses formation like this to protect your credit card as you alone have the knowledge of the name you used as your surname, first name and other name
now, if you make mistake of follow what is written on your credit card, you are tend to get error messages on any merchant website as they will think you are trying to use other person's credit card.
Note: always write your surname and the first name alone, do not follow what is printed or what you see on the card.

I hope this will help you a little...

Thanks for this huge information.

Though, I used just two names to open my GTbank account; my surname and first name only.

I paid using Operamini on my mobile phone around 9:00am and it was accepted.

The payment is been verify by aliexpress as usual. I just hope there will be no problem during the verification.

Thanks.

Rawdeal: Please i need help on where i can sell my products. I'm scared of being stuck with goods
Below are ways who can market your goods.

1. Tell friends and family members about your products. They can buy from you as wholesaler then re-sell in small quantity to other people.

2. Give then (your family members )some product to sell with a little commission. As in, you can give them a ring for a fixed price of 1500naira and tell them to sell it at any price above 1500. Whatever they make above the 1500 is theirs. But they must return your fixed price to you.

3. Create thread on nairaland about your product.

4. Create a facebook page and share the link with your friends and enemies.

5. Paste ads on facebook pages that have hung fan base.

6. Pay to advertise on facebook pages that have large fan base.

7. Pay to advertise here on nairaland.

8. Sell directly. If you're a student in the university, you can visit any computer store and type/print a page A4 paper containing details of what you're selling, then paste it all over your school notice board, hostel, lodges, market, e.t.c.
All the best dear.

@all.
I applied for GTbank Token last week. I have collected and activated the Token on my Internet Banking but I'm having serious problem signinup for MasterCard SecureCODE.
I have done everything possible; I have generated my activation code, I watched the demo video, clicked on "register now" and "temporary code" I even used a brand new PC but it kept re-loading the same page.
Anyone with same problem? Those that have registered their GTbank MasterCard did you experience this problem? How did you solved it? Please, reply. Thanks.

Hi Kemi,
Why not take your time to read through season one of this thread; it's just 100pages. You'll find more than enough information to ship your first item.
But if you still want the e-book just let me know.
Thanks.
