Having passed through it before, i understand how it feels, what did it for us was the understanding that it is God's will for us to have children and we know the He is not the one that controls when they come (else no prostitute or rape victim will get pregnant). if there is a delay, it is the devil. so we were not begging God to give us children, instead we were 'working' with Him to see the manifestation of what He has promised.

We took the word like ps 127 and sit on it, meditate and confess it daily and spoke to reproductive organs to comply.

All through through the waiting time, i tried as much as possible to incourage my wife and sheild her from family influences by being the one to attend family funtions except when it is absolutely necessary. Also a friend recommended a book named supernatural childbirth. That book helped us to build our faith and confession.

Furthermore we decided on the name we were going to give the child and started making preparations towards the baby's arrival even before the comception came. Though it took four years but the word eventually produced for us.

Now i understand that we all are not at the same level of faith or in the same circumstance, one thing i know is that prayer works faster when it is based and combined with the right knowledge.

I have friends who are still believing God and i interceed for them at every opportunity i get. Your call simply means i will consciously expand the scope.

It is not unusual to be scared. At this stage the baby is still a chunk of blood so there is the need to be careful. However it is not a reason to deny your husband intimacy so as not to make him vulnerable if he is the faithful type.

The truth is that you can and should be intimate all through pregnancy except in high risk pregnancies. Just dont do styles that will shake you so much or that he will rest on you.

My take is that you go and register for ante-natal and get your doctors advice.

In a perfect world, solar, inverters...is the way to go.

But imagine, a person whose mind is so into "generator".!

This is all new so I'm making "baby steps" and have a huge hangover of needing "re-assurance" i.e. real life testimonials, examples, pictures, a reputable network I can hook folks at home to so solar and or inverter can be installed.

We will obviously have to talk money (but that's the least problem), confidence (re-assurance - more explanation of the system and process) and logistics weigh heavy on my mind!

Op, i am honestly surprised that people are still putting their hard earned money in buying generators. The last time i bought a generator was 2006, a binatone 2.5kva and since i started using an inverter i knew that was the very last one i would buy. Six months later upgraded it to solar after my being trained on how to do so. The rest they say is history. The last time i 'warmed' up my gen was two years ago.

You can go for at least an inverter system and if you are satisfied upgrade it to solar. Yes there are issues and concerns about solar and inverter, but there are isues with generators too, only be sure to get the best hands.

A 48v system will the load you listed. This comes to 4 batteries of about 50,000 each. Then get an inverter of 3.5kva which is betweeen 80k and 120k depending on brand. Compare that to cost of buying a generator and fueling it for a year.

Though i am an installer, i tried to lay it bare so that you can consider your options before putting your money in purchasing one.

there are two aspects to the word of God; there is the letter and there is the spirit. we can conflict the letter but we cant the Spirit.

i would not engage i any argument online or offline as to who is right and who is wrong as i have discovered that arguments do not change people. it is the Holy Spirit that does. it doesnt make any sense trying to take His position.

Please what is your take on marcions theory that the God of the Old testament is different from the God of the New testament? Is the God of the old testament a tribal, blood thirsty God, while the God of the New testament is a loving ,compassionate and peaceful God? you know we can sit down and start arguing about who marcion was and and whether the cannonisation of the bible was a reaction to his works or not but i will not go down that road.

How i can explain the God of OT and that of NT is this; when you were child, your parents would most likely beat you if you did anything wrong, the farthest they will go now is to verbally scold you. Does that meant that they have changed from being your parents?

True, God deals with mankind in a different way now from how He did in the OT. There are so many explanations which i cannot start enumerating here. But one of it is that sin (and sinner nations by extension) was like cancer which had to be cut off because there was no treatment for them. That is why He can tell king saul to wipe away the amalekites for instance. It was a short term solution until the remedy came in christ who offers repentance and reconcilliation to God.

Further more, there are several areas where the NT can be seen as an upgrade of the OT. For instance, leviticus mentions animals (including pig) that are not to be eaten by the israelites, but in acts God told Peter that since He created all animals,Peter should not restrict himself. This was setting forth an improved order of things in God's dealing with mankind. It doesnt mean He has changed. There are so many other instances such as sabbath, tithing, sacrifices, worship and so on where it looks like the NT contradicts the OT but it actually complements the OT.

As for the cannonnisation of the scripture, the pentateuch (first five books of the OT) and the prophets were already in use at the time that Jesus came. (Remember He read from the book of Isiah Himself) so the cannonisation could not have been a reaction to macion's excommunication.

True, Christianity came from judaism. As a matter of fact, the OT as we know it today is called the hebrew bible. But i make bold to say it is the same God acting in accordance with His plan for humanity per time and He has allowed the OT to be put together with the NT so that we can learn from the OT and live in the NT.

Thank you for your contribution,which was illuminating,however I hope you are hot advocating that we should discard the Old testament of the Holy Bible because we have the New testament. I believe both parts of the Bible are suposed to compliment each other or what say you?

i am not in anyway saying that the OT should be abandoned. If anything the OT gave us ab ackground that a messiah was coming. It also gave us the introduction and a root from which the NT sprouts from. It is therefore an important part of the scripture.

What i am saying however is that after the death of Christ, God's anger against mankind is appeased -at least until the white throne judgement- therefore God is not as rash (for want of words) in the NT as He was in the OT.

That is why a lot of people get away with things these days which they would have been struck dead in the OT.

Thank you for your insight,however what I discern from it is that mockery of any man of God equals a violent death of any kind. This to me can not be right. Our God is a kind,compassionate and loving God. This passage in the Bible is completely contrary to these attributes of my God.

Just as i said in my earlier post, this is not the right thing in the NT because if Jesus himself was in that position he wouldnt have done the same thing.

On why pastors use it to intimidate people, it is either out of their own ignorance or they are preying on the ignorance of their members. it is totally WRONG as the wrath that should came upon all men has been put on Jesus.

for instance 'touch not my annointed. . .. ' has been so much misquoted by men of God but the passage was actually talking about israelites an by extension every christian.

First of all, the hebrew word translated children could actually be more accurately translated young adolescents or youths. So that rules out the fact that they did not know what they were doing. They were probabaly making jest of him that he should vanish just as his master has just done. It might not be a direct sin to God but it was offensive to him.

on the other hand, elisha was just coming back from the traumatic experience of elijah being taken away. So he was not in a good frame of mind.
just imagine if your father has just died in an accident and someone walks up to you to go take a car, drive and kill yourself like your father.Therefore i believe this was an emotional reaction from him and not a sovereign act of God.

However all these happened in the old testament. Believers in the NT are not allowed/encouraged to do the same. An instance is where the sons of thunder(james & john) wanted to call fire down because they didnt allow Jesus to go in and Jesus' reply was that they do not know the spirit that they carry. In otherwords, if Jesus was in elisha's shoes. He wouldn't react that way and believers are expected to act the same way.

the fact that she thinks it is someone else shows that she is not looking in your direction. The God i know does not have to push your file from table to table to give His children a reply. I am married and trust me, If you want to wait, you might wait forever.

It is my believe that a man with vision and purpose will not wait a year for a response to a proposal. Time is too precious.

first of all, i have issues with this 'thus saith the lord' because it takes some one who has walked with God on other things to hear Him without mixing emotions with it. This is a stage a lot of christians have not gotten to.

for instance if God tells one person that a sister is his divinely chosen wife and along the line the sister dies, does it mean that the guy will remain single or God has to 'shop' for another sister for him?

I believe God tells you the 'kind' of person to marry & you essentially have to work out the details.

Coming to your question, you cannot force anyone to hear God or marry you so you need to look at other options. do a sincere appraisal of yourself 'cos she might be looking at other factors such as education, finance etc.

Finally, bieng rejected is not the end of the world. Dont allow it to affect your self esteem. If you look around well there are good ladies around you who are dying to have your proposal.

first of all, the scripture in Jmes that talks about laying on of hands is talkiong about baby christians. this is because the elder is supposed to be mature enough to believe in God by himself. the place of maturity is what every believer is suppposed to get to with the aid of the five fold ministry.

now back to the question, there are so many reasons why this is happening;
one is that most churches are not preaching healing and consequently and are not experiencing it. the congregation are also not iencouraged to believe God.
second is ; believe it or not it is easier stop over and take drugs than to have faith in God for healing. christians are so carnal minded and want everything including healing that we cannot waith on God for it.

the bottom line is for people to know God by themselves and stretch out their faith on little things thereby strenghtening their belief in God

of course Jesus was a common name. we had several people who were bearing the name during Jesus time. have you ever wondered why they called Him Jesus of Nazareth. it was to distinguish naturally Him from others.

the name Jesus is the Greek rendering of the Hebrew name jehoshua which means Jehovah saves. just like Jude and Judas. however He was the only Christ which means the anointed one. the name Jesus Christa means Jesus the annointed one. this i believe is what separates Him from all other jesuses of His time. that is why the epistles almost always mention the christ alongside the Jesus to signify His divine calling
