MT: Op, many people use kids to console themselves after they have seen how miserable they have become abroad.
Kids have their lives, you have yours. How many parents can even afford the good private schools abroad?. How many percentage of our kids are in grammar school abroad?. Most schools that Nigerian kids attend abroad are far below average but the parents don't even know in as much as there are white kids attending same schools.
How many parents can eat in good restaurants with their kids? How many parents can even travel with their families to other countries for vacationing? Most Nigeria families abroad do not even enjoy the goodies of life abroad, they can only look at them but can't afford to pay to experience them.
Don't get tripped by "I am doing this for my kids" scheme. When people talk about 'doing it for their kids', I chuckle. First of all, they should go and check what is in their curriculum, check what they is being fed into their minds in the schools, a lot of which they will have absolutely no control over. Check the culture they will assimilate, e.g. a culture where old people are abandoned in their old ages and put in homes. |

Besides supply and demand, there are other factors at play, airlines being able to remit their funds back, Jet A1 prices, risk factors etc. But even for off-peak times, prices are up compared to previous years.
Btw, when you look at the breakdown of the flight fare, you will see the aiport charges & taxes per passenger. At least, other airports you can clearly see what they do with theirs, but MMIA has been getting progressively worse over the years and is one of the most stressful unpalatable airports to experience. |

Papilagreen: Thanks for the wonderful advice baba e be like na watin I go do be that infact I go rack all I can and make life the best I can for my self and my wife and daughter..
So actually when I say 20$ I no mean I save just 20$ monthly.. Infact make I Yan you small update. I don work like work a 9 to 5 job for now.. I used to work and school when I was in Illinois when I was studying for my first master's degree what I do back then infact still do it on my pleasure time whenever am bored at home presently. But back then when I was fully hustling I school and work. I do have classes 3 times a week and those days I don't work the rest of the days I work like 6 to 8 hours daily I do what is called door dashing and what it means is that you pick up food from restaurants and deliver to people at home or at their work or at school so basically, people who are busy at school or at home or at their place of work and don't have time they place their order on door dash app and we pickup and deliver to them and we get our percentage. Basically I just drive there I pickup the food and I go deliver on a bad day I make 75$ and on a good day I make up to $150 per day. For now I am presently working on my second masters degree in movie production and cinematography. I already have a master's degree in geology and bro i will tell you my school expenses yearly including school fees and textbook amounts to bout $23,000 I pay off pocket I don't have any scholarship. So I pay off pocket. I pay from what I do doordashing. My wife works for the Kentucky state government she makes good okay money to keep up with any of our need expenses and we get to save more too. We planning on buying our own house soon and we plan on paying cash not loan or mortgage plan because we know how to plan well let's say I know how to plan I am good with money management my wife on the other hand don't. Also when u say skills I am a geologist pu profession I get offer for job for here yearly I get paid $98.000 I turned it down My reasons. I my daughter is just be turning 2 in September still little and from Kentucky to Florida is far I can't leave my daughter for now
Secondly geology is what I studied back in Nigeria in the university before I came to America that was the course I got admitted here when I got admission for my master's degree program. After I finish am truth be told, I never loved to work full time as a geologist because it's a risky professional but with good pay.. what I love to do is be a move producer and a director ND that what I have always wanted. My family we come from entertainment background it's like it's in our blood. My elder brother na musician and he is doing great with it in Nigeria him dey make good living from. And me movie and music production has always been my passion that's why I dey film school now and I am happy with what I have gotten so far. So Nigeria make una dey expect me soon I am coming over to take over the entertainment industry.. With that said bros money na money.. last month na only $20 I save for my future project I wan come do for Nigeria previous months B4 that $500 this month I already had 1200 added some months are good some months are bad and every month I dey send Monty to family and friends ooo I get big family for Nigeria so after every every and I don pay my bill here as well for America ND I save $20 that month I will will happily say I try I hope you get the point now... Even if it's $20 you save, it is still money, and saving is not just about the amount but the discipline of putting something aside. You don't owe that guy or anyone else any explanation for your finances. You are also supporting family in Nigeria and paying your bills, you are trying already. Just keep at it. |

bacil: The money can be giving to people with biz ideas to create opportunities and employment. Orphanage homes will only get more children because their poor parents know so many Davidos care more about orphanages than the source of the problems. The money will only be used to buy food, cloths and books. It won't be replenished. Nigerians need money to invest not money for consumption. It's his money. It's his right how to spend it. |

Jobs/Vacancies › Re: Unemployed People, Are You Happy With How Your Parents/family Are Treating You? by yewit37486: 4:29pm On Jul 19, 2023 |
MissOpe: It's only natural to treat an unemployed person as that... Until you begin to bring financial value to the table, you'll be treated as a useful thrash..... It's not natural, neither is it right. People should be treated with respect regardless of whether they 'measure up to your financial standards or not'. This kind of mindset in the average Nigerian is what has driven people into crime to make money at any cost. |

TemplarLandry: Only archaic men with lowest of the lowest self-esteem imprison their wives under the guise of housewifehood.
Women are not dullards or nonentities. They have parts to play in every functional society. A real woman has to make some money for herself too.
Being a housewife means you're only useful to your husby as a copulation machine and a babies-producing device. Zero contribution to a functional society. That's bad bad. Won't you dedicate a song to the housewives we have in our society and the men that demand it of them? |

More countries will keep banning and restricting the flow of Nigerians to their countries because from the look of things we have become a country without morals! Leave them, the chicken is already coming home to roost yet some are busy defending their individual tribes. Height of FOOLISHNESS. |
