Good day house, Please has anyone experienced this yet? COPR's have been generated since Dec 11 2023 as shown on the tracker, but no PPR letter yet. Should I be worried? I have sent webform and emails but still nothing. V.O- Accra
There is nothing like that. You can sponsor your spouse almost immediately you become a PR, provided you didn't get your PR through Spousal Sponsorship in the last 5 years. Although to sponsor a spouse or dependant, you will need to prove that you have a source of income, so you need to have a job first. If you have a job, please put in your spouse application. Goodluck!!.
shaynehuey: Good day, I am a new Canadian PR. I want to go for the spousal sponsorship but i heard i need to have spent a year minimum as PR before i can initiate spousal sponsorship at all. I would love to confirm this.
I don't think you need to worry too much about this. I think you must just include as much evidence as possible that the relationship is genuine and legal. You can also include an LOE as the reason why your parent couldn't attend the wedding. Worst case scenario is that you will be called for an interview, which I doubt. Goodluck.
overeighteen: Hi everyone, I need some good advice. I am a Canadian citizen who relocated back to Nigeria in December 2022 and I started a relationship January this year. We got married in September and currently about to apply for spousal sponsorship. I am staying in Nigeria until the sponsorship is approved although we are also planning to apply for trv after we get AOR for the spousal sponsorship.
I am going through the forms now and I am in some kind of a dilemna ... I found out in form imm5532e that I am supposed to indicate if my parents(sponsor) attended the wedding. Due to some differences and misunderstanding, my parents did not attend the wedding (they were not in support) but my wifes parents were in attendance and fully supported the wedding.
Can someone who has some experience about this educate me on how to handle this area ? I am a little worried that stating that my parents did not attend the wedding will be a red flag and I am not sure how to handle that.
Thanks for your response, I didn't include the SS application's AOR when I submitted the TRV application. I thought their system will automatically detect the dual intent. Moreover, I was of the opinion, its when you get to Canada and want to convert the TRV to an open work permit, that's when its mandatory to include the SS AOR. Is it too late to submit via the webform?
eorom: In the same process, There is no special way of applying for spousal TRV - normal TRV application. IRCC confirmed to me that I need to indicate that my spouse has an open PR application (SS) and include the AOR when submitting the TRV application. There was no clear explanation why some are processed within 30 days and others take longer. I never got a clear reason from them and always got referred to the general reason link for delays (security and background check).
With your confirmation of what is stated in the GCMS note, I cannot fathom the reason for the delays. Although, I know IRCC processing normally slows down toward the end of the year, but it still doesn't make sense.
Can someone with more detailed information kindly provide some clarity on how to submit a TRV while having a pending Spousal Sponsorship Application under the alleged "Special Instruction/Policy" . I am in the same situation as I applied for a TRV for my wife while she has a pending SS application. I just used the normal TRV portal with the impression that IRCC system will automatically detect if you have dual intent. Its almost 2 months since I submitted the TRV application, I applied for the GCMS notes of the TRV application last week, came back yesterday and nothing has literally been done on the application as at yesterday, except passing the criminality check, info sharing and biometrics have also been completed since 25th Sept but no decision yet or any notes to give a clue of what's happening with the application. Anyone with accurate information or who have done this before should please assist.
MayorOfEdmonton: Well, I know a couple friends that got theirs 29 days & 30 days after applying. While I agree it won't be same for everyone, even IRCC stats says about 90% r processed with the 30 days service standard. It's not wrong for him to be proactive if there's a delay. Also it seems there's a different way to apply for spousal TRV, someone a couple pages back said he applied under "Special Instructions/Policy" and included their AOR/Spousal sponsorship details.
congrats, this is awesome. Can you please elaborate on this? Which portal was used for this "special instruction/policy"? What did you write as the purpose of your visit? and what documents were submitted in addition to the AOR for the spousal sponsorship application? Please kindly share your timeline as well. Thanks.

Good day house , Please what should someone that lost his passport after PPR do? IRCC have been informed of the incident with all supporting documents that lead to the passport been stolen via the webform. There’s no response yet. The 30 days given to submit passport will lapse next week and it also seems getting a lost passport replaced is an inundated task. It might take like 3 months to get a new passport. Will this have any effect on one’s application ? Will the application be reopened ? Please help a brother out…
Good day house.. Received an ADR for PCC somewhere in March 2022.Unfortunately, I couldn’t meet the deadline to submit the PCC then, I only uploaded proof of application for the PCC with an LOE in the placeholder. I later got the PCC somewhere in May 2022, and I uploaded via webforms immediately . After like 2 or 3 weeks of uploading via webform, I managed to call IRCC, and it was confirmed that the PCC has been received. I just got responses to my webforms couple of days ago that the document I submitted has been forwarded to the responsible office for their consideration . But to my surprise I got another ADR for the same PCC, could it be that they didn’t receive the one I sent via webform or they want fresh PCC? The PCC I sent is still valid (validity of six months)as it was finalised in May 2022. Should I just upload the PCC or I should go and do a fresh one ? N.B - SA PCC takes time to be finalised these days.

blittech: Hi there, just want to add on the very good responses you got....I had my baby in July 2021 in SA post AOR and I got the BC in August...I applied for passport the same day I got the BC. I received the passport in March 2022.My baby was 7months...what I did was that I informed IRCC via web form in Oct 2021 that I had a baby but I am experiencing delays in getting the passport.i did not get a response so I raised another web form in Jan 2022... no response...then, one day in March 2022...IRCC decided to reply to all my web forms and created placeholders for us to baby's upload documents...on that same day, the SA high commission posted that the batch for my baby's passport is ready for collection and on the sane day IRCC requested remedicals for my family. We upload baby's document's the next day immediately we collected the passport and after about 10 hrs....I think morning in Canada. We received acknowledgment of documents email and request for baby's medical...we all did the medical together with the baby ...but since then,we have not heard anything...lol...Like other people have advised, you must declare your child...then,go to home affairs in person if possible to get the birth certificate out....apply for the passport immediately because it takes quite a while....you never can tell you may just get your ITA in July when they start the draws... you can watch this video also to know what to expect when you are adding your baby to your application.
Hello house, Remedical request on March 8, and was done since March 16 2022, but hasn't been passed. There was a ghost update that changed to "You do not need a medical exam. We will send you a message if this changes.". Has anyone experienced this before? Could there be any issue with the medical exam? I have the report of the medical exam and all sections were graded A.
Looking to any response from anyone that might have an idea on what's going on.
I am in the same situation with you, my VO is also RROC, please what email address did you use to mail them? Thank you
Haircombb: My VO is RROC and I have mailed them several times, sent about 10 webforms. I have the viber app, it is what I have been using. I will keep sending the mail and webform. Thank you
Good day house, Please does anyone knows how to send outstanding document to RROC faster apart from using the webform? Perhaps an email address if it exists. Thank you.
Good day all, Firstly got request for re-medical , then two days later, got an ADR for PCC, Schedule A and payment of RPRF. My issue is regarding the Schedule A? Why will the VO be asking for it when you have filled it initially during eAPr? What could the VO be possibly thinking and why do VOs generally request for Schedule A during the final stage of one's application? I still have the screenshot of what I filled in during the application though, but just curious why the VO might request for it.
Good day all, Is there a way to track the status of a GCMS note? I requested for one since 19 November 2021, and still no response till now or should I just I request for another one?
Good days house, If your medical changes from medical passed on 17th March 2021 to "you do not need a medical examination at the moment" as depicted in the screenshot below. What does it mean, does it mean you should be expecting a re-medical request or its just part of the update regarding one's application?
Gurus in the house, Please kindly advise. AOR- Feb 2021, Is it advisable to move POF to an investment such as PiggyVest? The interest rate dey enter my eyes..
Hello House, Is BTA (Basic Travel Allowance) still required to travel to SA on a 3 months visiting visa ? Those years, where you will have to have some dollars at hand before the immigration officers allows you to pass. Is it still applicable? or there are other ways to proof you have sufficient available fund for your trip?
Dayhor: A letter from the non-travelling parent consenting to the "non-South African citizen child" accompanying the travelling parent is no longer required on arriving/departing RSA, as per the current immigration regulations (gazetted). It's only required for SAC children. However, you may be required to provide such on departing NGA, as per NGA's immigration regulations. So, you should ideally have a copy of the child's birth certificate and a signed consent letter on your person.
Covid tests are required for every traveller older than 6 (You can check with your airline to confirm this)
Time between submitting sample and departure should not exceed 72 hours
Hello House, Please what are the requirements to travel to SA at the moment with a child and one of the parents? Is consent letter from the other parent still required? I read it on SA home affairs website that consent letter is not required again if such documents have been submitted during the visa application, but I don't know what's required in Lagos before they can fly out. Is Covid test still required? If yes, will the child test for Covid as well? and what timeline must the test be done before departure?
A response by anyone that has travelled recently or with similar situation will be highly appreciated.
I also submitted an application for spousal permit renewal on MAY 6th but still haven't received the permit.
The gentleman from the embassy said they are busy finalizing the application when we followed up last week.
He said there are partners/stakeholders they work with on verification of documents and due to COVID -19 most are not at offices daily and thus delays.
But I just personally feel like 16 weeks ( and counting) is just too long to process an application. I am hoping I will receive a notification soon from VFS that the application has been finalized.
I will keep you guys posted on how it goes...Fingers Crossed
