thing is this is an issue of one anomally begetting another anomally. FIFA jus desperately wanted to punish france for d disgrace they brought into the game and england were simply the beneficiaries.

Nice point but still, reasoning tells us that d looser in any contest lives with it better if they lost fair and square and not if they were cheated out, cos its instances like this that actually ruin football.
I feel its wrong to allow such things to continue to happen because people have been doing it in the past. 2 wrongs dont make a right. u can imagine d mindset of foootballers going into a match and thinkin of how d outcome might not be determined by wat he can do which is d ideal situation but also dependent on d mood and abilities of the officials.

2- Ireland should request video replays subsequently and not a replay of the match. but if french fa offers a match replay on moral grounds then fine

3-fifa should introduce the type of limited replay used in tennis where u have lets say one chance to request for video replay per match. this will not slow down the game as some pple fear since u have only one shot so if a team uses it to dispute a dubious corner call in d first half, then they loose out if lets say the opposing team gets a dubious penalty call in injury time. Something lika a lifeline so know when to use it.

its strange how some posters point 2 d georgia game as justification for ireland's ouster. firstly unlike ireland that actually came out to request for a replay, georgia did not request for one. the point should not be how many pple he works with but the quality of music on display. as long as he still maintains standard then he shud be applauded for working hard. 1- the issue of replays slowing down d game has been debunked cos it d amount of time for a replay in rugby exceeds the average protest time when there's a contentious call. i saw that on skysports earlier

i wonder y fifa still organises 3rd place games. i feel they are unneccesary as nobody watches them as d teams play with little motivation. take the 98 world cup for example, croatia was more motivated 4 d third place match than holland that lost out to brazil in a painful penalty shoot out. that dutch team was really good a country like holland which carries the burden of the best team not to have won the world cup yet.they is no way they cud have been interested in playing another 90mins for 3rd place. the euros seem to agree with this. if u must have third, use their stats on route to the semis to get it. people always forget the runner up talkless 3rd place.
