its actually very simple. Nigerians voted massively for jona, he has failed, the next logical thing is to vote him out and give someone else a chance. The incoming new person knowin how he came in will sit up and work. And if he fails, we vote him out too. Adiiction was talkin about how the group intended to feature j-town artists on a remix to a track to b included in their upcoming album. As soon as ice prince was mentioned, benny arc lost it!
He ranted about how ice was wack, how ice sounded the same and about how the brymo chorus on oleku was the reason he blew. Even though he had his reasons for his views, the venom in his outburst indicated a personal angle to it. But he was also wrong on so many levels.
firstly he was pretending to b a true rap head and using pure rap standards to judge ice as if he has any of Mode 9's albums. He probably doesnt. Ice is probably the most featured rapper out there and with this level of exposure its no suprise if his rap intensity is watered down. He featured but artist that want him to add melody to thier songs so as to get a break out hit single. For this reason we dont judge him when upcomers feature him. If u listened to his verse on MI's millionnaira champaigne, you will know he can come correct if he wants to.
ice aint my fav rapper but u jus gotta appreciate whT he has done. He has made rap relevant to a demographic that didnt give a damn. At the end of the day, if u dont make good music, then we dont know who your rapping for.
