Music/Radio / Re: Top 10 Under-Rated Rappers In Nigeria by yoji: 10:38pm On Dec 12, 2013
However let me go with d heading. Some names on this list discredits the list.
1-pheroshuz: this is probably one of d most underrated rappers in naija. For u to judge his career on this1 line is plain ridiculous. U obviously haven't heard any of his albums. His last effort that had the hit single 'correct'' was a very very good album. The classic track 'sample' won terry the rapman a hiphop world award for best rap single featured phero and phero almost murdered terry. Mentioning phero makes no sense and can only mean it's beef.
2-ruggedman: veterans aren't judged at 1 point in time, but on the impact of their careers. In America, for example, .mc's like rakeem and krs 1 cannot match the lyrical strengths of new borns like lil Wayne and TI, but nevertheless, they are stil ranked as some of the best ever. This is cos, at their peak, they were d best and they showed another generation a style that never existed and very few could match. The same applies to ruggedman.
3-cartiar : this dude definitely had talent, jus that after his hit single, he just couldn't sustain it cos of issues that go beyond just the ability to rap. It's like saying Godwon and iceberg slim are stilwack they have not been commercially successful.

Your post is misleading and confusing. The title says wackiest which denotes implies negative, then d body of the thread has "underrated " which denotes positive. So which is exactly.

Sports / Is Victor Moses Overrated? by yoji: 9:02am On Dec 08, 2013
As far as Nigerians are concerned, he is one of the best players in the world. When he was a squad player at chelsea , we insulted the chelsea bosses for not using him enough. Apparently they knew what they were doing so much so that when he sought his loan move away to Liverpool, mourinho did not even think twice b4letting him go, but we rejoiced upon his joining the revolution at mersyside and swore to mock mourinho for gettin him go. Now fast forward almost halfway into the season, and he still remains a squad player at Liverpool. It's the same predicament at another club. To b fair to rogers, he did play Moses regularly at the start of the season, but he simply didn't perform. He failed to deliver from his favorite position, the wing so rogers deployed him into the no 10 position which was supposed to cover for the injured coutinho. Still he didn't perform. Now he is on the bench playing second fiddle to average players like Henderson and sterling.
One thing is basic, chelsea don't miss him, like they miss lukaku and he hasn't contributed anything to Liverpool's brilliant season so far. And even when he comes on for a few minutes, still nothing happens.
To think of the fact that we expect to perform at the world cup when all our star players are just squad players is scary.

So true...... jagznation is d best album to come out of Nigeria esp in an era dominated by beautiful nonsense. The kid is a genius. Can't get enough of it. Still don't have a fav track......amazing piece of work... definitely a collector's item

Take toure out of city team, they won't b d same and that's why he is d only player to have played all their games so far while mikel is just a squad player at chelsea. I know mikel won ANC , but the medal he got covers that.
Sports / Re: Ribery Deserves The Fifa Player Of The Year Awards Than Ronaldo And Messi by yoji: 8:53pm On Nov 28, 2013
fijiano202: If football is solely based on statistics like player performance, trophies, awards and also club and country performance then i believe Ribery is the best player in 2013.Messi may have won the european golden boot and also the the spanish La liga and Ronaldo may have also won UCL golden boot but Ribery had a superb year with an outstanding performance for club and country, its the first time in the German league history to produce a treble winning team,Ribery created history with the German club by winning 4 major trophies and also he was the catalyst for the club wonderful run in the league, german cup,UCL and also in the Uefa Supercup. He was recognise for his oustanding performance in europe with the Uefa club Player of the year in august. With the voting still going i strong tip Ribery to be crowned Fifa Player of the year for his outstanding 2013 performance
Stop babbling, bayern would hv still been successful without him. Besides after winning all u mentioned, do we now reward those prizes with another prize? Believe he picked up d prizes commensurate to whether won
Sports / Re: Does Osaze Odemwingie Deserve A Call-up? by yoji: 8:49pm On Nov 28, 2013
safarigirl: So a lot of people here have been clamouring for Osaze to be re-called to the Super Eagles recently, I just want to know....WHY? Sentiments apart, irrespective of past glory, with the sole focus being his current form and playing time, does Osaze really deserve a call-up? Aren't there better players in better teams that can replace the likes of Ideye and Musa if necessary? Why do Nigerians get a kick out of re-cycling old bones? Aren't there younger, fitter, more agile Nigerians that are more deserving of a call-up? Why must it be Osaze?
U still don't get it. As far as Nigeria is concerned, performance at the world cup is not our priority. The world cup is just a reward for our favourite players, and with so many white pple on display, we too need our favorite half caste.

Is it worth doing a review of the album now? Giving that it's been out for a while.
It's just that when newer albums don't meet expectations, u tend to reflect on albums that exceeded expectations within the same time frame. As for ice prince, i loved ELI alot but the 5 songs i''ve heard so far from FOZ Haven't blown me away so far
Music/Radio / Re: Ice Prince - Fire Of Zamani! - Album Review by yoji: 10:27am On Nov 26, 2013
Jesse jagz album is album of the year. Infact it should be bought by government and distributed in all music schools in the country.
Music/Radio / Re: Nigerian Songs You Can't Understand How They Became Hit Songs by yoji: 7:35am On Nov 23, 2013
There is a reason most of the songs mentioned are called club songs or pop hits. There are meant for clubs. People don't listen to hear such songs in the club and expect to draw inspiration on how to solve the world's problems or get ibetter in life. There are not supposed to make sense in that regard. Most of these same artists have songs with substance in their albums but these songs don't get airplay cos it's demand isn't as high as the so called meaningless songs. Artists that make sense like bez, nneka, sound sultan, etc which make sense are there but how many of you ever bought their albums??
Come to think if it even in America, the songs that dominate their airwaves stil include rihanna, jay z, rick Ross, nickii minaj, lil Wayne and co who promote sex, drugs and civil disobedience with their lyrics and not artists like common, talib kweli who think before they talk.
Nigerian music is in a very good place now cos it has something for everyone, just select what works for u and stop complaining about jams u know weren't meant for you cos it sounds absurd.

Wande coal cannot stay at Mavin forever. Same applies to tiwa and d rest. It's normal to leave at some point just as dbanj left. Badboy records isn't what it used to be 10yrs ago, same applies to soso def , .ruff ryders, choc city, trybe records, storm records, kennis music etc.. so anybody expecting anything different must b a learner. Also it makes no sense beefing don jazzy cos he he did well for himself at the peak of his career with dbanj, and while he obviously won't be ontop forever, he has done enough to be relevant for a while. I would have been disappointed in dbanj if he didn't leave at the peak of his career, cos even with him at mo hits , a time would come when d audience will turn their backs on u for d new kids on d block, so he left and diversified in preparation for that day. Anybody picking sides and not being paid for it must b joking. Even if mo hits didn't scatter, sooner or later they would loose it.

grin hmmm! Mr. I belong. You just want us to know sha that you have seen gravity, let me guess you like gravity becos the critics and fans welcomed it right? "Refreshing Retro feel" for skyfall. You are no more using the 1bn dollar excuse, I like your style man you don't give up hehehe
So in my gravity analysis, what u could pick up from there was that i had seen it? what's d big deal about seeing it? Aren't dvds 250bucks anymore? I liked it cos of d space feel #datzall . I'l check up on d fans and critics later. Am surprised u didn't criticise d suit Daniel Craig wore as well.

mr.magoo:
@forreelinc it is not weakness I'm not just going to argue with you anymore, what really irritates me is the way you all immaturely nitpick on plotholes and not give the movie a chance, for me the plot of the movie doesn't contribute shiit to my liking the movie / not there are other more relevant things like how the movie was shot I.e camera angles, cinematography, texturing etc. What about the acting? That was out of this world, the action scenes? Is something you would watch over and over again its the perfect mix of thrill and fun skyfall remains a classic anyday anytime and non of your pointless and irrelevant ranting would change that.
Am wit u on that. No movie will survive the intense level of nit picking they subject skyfall to. It's just selective nitpicking to prove a poin that's all. Skyfall was classic with a refreshing retro feel. As good as gravity was, profs wanted to attack it on d grounds of scientific details nobody cared about but they were reminded it was a movie not a documentary. So no b today.

Actually i do. Just that when i watched them, the box office earnings weren't mentioned in the movie. And didn't see it after d end credits either.

lanreajirobaju: @mr.magoo besides 2012 was a good year for movies think about it all the high grossing movies were crap
The avengers- 1bn full of crap
TDKR- 1bn full of crap
Harry potter- 1bn tons of crap
Twilight breaking dawn- 1bn also tons of crap
Skyfall- 1bn crap dispenser
The hobbit- 1bn trash
You see these were all terrible movies but they hit the all time high you think they can try any rubbish like that this year? Wey boys eye dey tear see all the blockbusters plummeting into box office flops. years differ abeg spare me like skyfall is the first movie to make a billion hell it isn't even the first bond movie to make a billion dollars
Are u sure about that? So which bond movie was d first to make a billion ?
Sports / When A Player Bcomes Bigger Than The Country..pathetic Case Of Ghana & Boateng by yoji: 12:07am On Oct 16, 2013
When Ghana qualified for d last world cup in south Africa, Kevin prince boateng saw a chance to play at the world cup cos he was never going to make it into the German senior team, so he switched allegiance to Ghana to realise the aim. Furthermore he used it as a platform to re launch his club career as A.C. Milan signed him up after he was relegated with portsmouth b4 d tournament.all of a sudden, he retired from international football citing an in ability to combine club and national assignments at the age of 24!
The president of d Ghana football federation and the then coach made trips to Milan to convince him to re consider but he refused and as such missed 2 editions of the nations cup where Ghana finished a consecutive 3rd place positions.
All of a sudden d final play off stages for d world cup is upon us and boom he's made a u-turn and is ready to play for Ghana again and Ghana seems to want him back. This is very sad and symptomatic of Africa's pathetic position in football.can this happen anywhere else?
With or without him, Ghana will not better their previous position in south Africa cos this team is weaker, so why throw a country's pride and dignity to the dogs cos of a player who will re-retire again after riding ghanian sweat to the carnival in Rio next year.

In as much as this pains me, it pains me more when i see how easy the solution is. If boycott them for only 6months, they'L change their policy towards us. Most pple are obsessed with football forgetting that matches will always be played even when we are being buried.
TV/Movies / Re: Why SKYFALL Sucked!! by yoji: 10:59am On Oct 02, 2013
Liking a movie like dark knight for d artistic reasons u gave is well taken. There are many people who liked d same movie for much more simpler reasons, that doesn't make their appreciation any less valued. U are now sayin, even though d i belong syndrome got me on dark knight, have good reasons for it.
TV/Movies / Re: Why SKYFALL Sucked!! by yoji: 11:25pm On Oct 01, 2013
I didn't say i disliked quantum of solace. Besides ur i belong syndrome is selective cos u use it to apply to movies u didn't like. Didn't movies like dark knight and avengers revel in the i belong syndrome? Are u saying they were bad? When will smith's after earth came out, the i belong syndrome tried to make people hate it cos of the trend in attitude towards it. But i went to see it with a different frame of mind hell bent on liking it cos i am a will smith fan, but alas they were right afterall and i hated the movie.
TV/Movies / Re: Why SKYFALL Sucked!! by yoji: 4:32pm On Oct 01, 2013
Lol. U got me wrong. I loved all Daniel Craig bonds cos am fan of his. Maybe realism was d wrong word then. Let's say i liked the seriousness he brought to it. I don't have dat syndrome cos there are many loved movies i hated and vice versa. For exams, judge dredd .......oops yea i liked it
TV/Movies / Re: Why SKYFALL Sucked!! by yoji: 2:25pm On Oct 01, 2013
Truth is am a wrong example to use cos i like Daniel Craig alot cos of d realism he brought to d franchise plus i can't remember d movie again sef . But this 'i belong' syndrome isn't always bad cos am sure u can acknowledge some good movies that stil revelled in the 'i belong' syndrome.
TV/Movies / Re: Why SKYFALL Sucked!! by yoji: 11:02am On Oct 01, 2013
But d 'i belong' syndrome didn't quite work with quantum of solace, it's immediate predecessor.
TV/Movies / Re: Why SKYFALL Sucked!! by yoji: 8:20am On Oct 01, 2013
So i guess it's "i belong" vs "i am a superior being so iit's irrelevant whether u like it, just believe me cos i''ve been divinely ordained to tell u it sucks"
