AFTERNOON MARKET COMMENT
Market extremely bullish. There is temptation to start buying. However, it is better to wait till the Fed decision is out.

Shorting or buying EDZ yesterday resulted in a loss on the trade at the moment. Loss has minimal effect on our portfolio. This shows the peril of buying in overbought area.

For today, we are waiting for fed decision and one hour letter, big money will give us their verdict (one hour after FOMC decision is 8.30pm West Africa Time). Some stocks we may look into: MT, AEG, TMC, PFE, LYG

HAVING A SIGNAL SERVICE IS GOOD- ONE OF THE ADVANTAGES IS THAT IT ALLOWS YOU TO PLAN

Today I planned to hedge my position with an inverse ETF, I has 3 signals (EDZ, TMW, RMW), at our normal daily buying window, all I has to do is plus the 3 into my chart and I settled for EDZ. I am happy with buying EDZ today, bought just about 15 minutes before writing this mail. This is one of those few times when I did not feel any fear in buying a postions

Market is currently in a pretty unpredictable state. However, if we need to buy anything, we need caution. Today, I am convinced that I need a stock on the short side (I am taking this as a purely short term play). Stock pick today is EDZ

I'm this market only serious investors will survive. We need to invested in the right tools, like a signal service/charting package etc. You can start with our service, it is the cheapest you can get, but the recommendations are good (you will likely get similar at 5x our price elsewhere).

One of the lessons I have learnt from this Russia/Ukraine crisis is that news can be bias, you open twitter, people are only commenting based on if they are Arabs, Americans etc, getting the actual fact each day looks difficult. Therefore, we should learn to take news with a grain of salt.

WHICH BROKER IS THE BEST AT THE MOMENT- PASSFOLIO IS FAIR

Very interesting reading on the above. From my current experience up to14 March 2022, I will chose PASSFOLIO as the best out of the Apps Nigerians can easily open account with.

The obvious caveat is that we better limit ourself to the the simple side of the app: do not use margin, avoid pro account and I am sure you will be okay and thank me later.

For me the fact that after the entrance fee (look at my previous post, this is1% to 1.5%), you then trade commission free as long as your money is in the system.

For those saying Trove, it is 1% commission for each trade, plus as at now platform is not too friendly and dump customer service, plus the fact that payments are sometimes delayed until you send repeated mails.

Realy this matter interest me and I attached some of the negative reviews on Passfolio. However, I see no big deal in thes negative reviews as long as you observe the caveat earlier mentioned. The rates is now okay, they cannot hold your money if you have not made mistake (for this reason, I avoid using my card for transfer, I do it from my bank). Also you need to check some of those negative reviews, if they are early 2021, then know that that review is likely to be outdated.

For now I can say my experience with Passfolio on average is far better than the push and pull with Trove. I can give Passfolio 60%, Chaka 50% and Trove 20%. Please open your account with anyone you like and then please inform us of your discovery. On most other matter they are all same, you get nearly same exchange rate (money is converted at parallel market rates).

Finally, apart from no commission with passfolio, you can buy blockchain/metaverse tokens. Thus you have more product options to consider. Nevertheless, we should continue to look for better brokers that will reduce our current headaches with Trove/Chaka and co.

WHICH NIGERIA PLATFORM IS LIKELY TO BRING US ZERO COMMISSION TRADING?
Following up on OAKPEARL post earlier, the Nigerian APPs are not the best (but if you have neither driver's Licence nor International passport), you just have to continue using them or you do not have up to a minimum of $500 to start trading (I will still take Passfolio as local as your NIN is acceptable, or we say the platform is halfcast).

I believe, Trove can do it if they put their acts together. Introducing this new debit card business can change things for then at a time like this. I initially ignore this card, but when I start getting notice from all the banks that FX for subribscription/other international payment is limited to $20 per payment for an individual, but we have subscription for chart service payment that is above this figure, I just realized that I need that card (at least I will not need to go and be looking for any Malam to and buy $, I can buy at parallel market rate as usual from Trove and just pay my subscription or Alibaba etc as the case may be).

Things not looking too good in the market today. I tried to go on the short side, but theses inverse ETFs seems to be designed for profession al TRADERS and I can see animnediate target of 10% for most of them.

Today, against all my effort to look for profitable position, I just have to chill. Monday will be another day.

We need to learn to control our emotions.

WEAT looks good, bought small quantity. The pullback at one time on this ETF was due to the need to issue more stocks to meet higher margin for futures trading and the funny issue here is that the price of the ETF cannot rise till the authorities finish the approval for the fund raising, but price is allowed to fall (and price was falling, even on days when weat prices ses were up). Note that for this type of ETF you only profit from capital appreciation and weat price will top out in July whether you like it or not you must sell around July (no or trying to hold for the long term).

US STOCK PICK 10 MARCH
Market recovered some of the losses, there is likely follow through today, but we are watching things as the current zone of NASDAQ is like a neutral aree. $SID is our stock for today.

Today is a window shopping day for us. We stay on the sideline to see continuation of market reaction to the peace talk/US ban on Russia oil import.

Market is always rotating, let us see the new industry that will experience the bullish move? Bitcoin stocks are overdue for some bullish move?

CLOSING REMARK FOR 9 MARCH 2022
Not too bad a day. We are still guided by our trading system. We bought SID.

For the week, we are home and dry. We will just watch happens in the next few days. Market is interesting, sometimes one news will just wipe off so many gains (big money at play).

Some of these comments below are from some fellow traders like us, from Investing.com, I wonder why we bother so much about the news, our system should tell us what to do.

The comment I like so much is the one that says, just the fact that UKRAINE President have said he may now want to remain neutral, thus this will now bring down all commodity prices immediately? More oil, wheat, Aluminum will now be available immediately? But, under the scene, the fall in prices of commodities stocks did not affect the steel and fertilize stocks the way it did to the oil stocks?

I don't know how to argue with the market, we did our job, exit some risky trades and bought what still has uptrend after retracing earlier?

LIVE MARKET UPDATE 9 MARCH
Sudden news of UAE/OPEC members to increase oil supply brought oil prices lower. Good time to take some profits off the table on some of our risky plays. Then for our buys, we go for high conviction plays only .

The solar industry still looks good, but will only buy gradually. On our target stocks that have huge moves against them, let us see what will happen in the next 3 days. One day negative for energy stocks not enough to make the maket bullish nor negate the uptrend in energy sector immediately.

Good day to all and let us sleep well, tommorrow is another day. The bad day in the oil stocks, was compensated for by the general indices like NASDAQ going up.

ENERGY SECTOR STILL THE BEST SECTOR AT THE MOMENT

Let us avoid smart money from chasing us out. Energy sector still the best, Now the goodies is spreading to more industries in the the sector. However, let us pick only good stock with at least some little fundamental behind them.

[b]Today we pick BTU (thi[/b]s is a long term performer). You know something funny about this stock, there is the possibility that they have sold all their year 2022 production in advance. I missed big money when I read the comment from somebody who wanted the small traders to sell. He said since they have sold all the coal production (via hedging) for 2022 in 2021, they will have no income for 2022 since there will be nothing to sell. However, it was later if dawn on me that Accounting rule/SEC will nevwe allow them to have taken the profit for 2022 in 2021 in their accounting books.

I love this market. Those trading without a system are just like spectators. It is like going to a WAR with a toy gun to fight soldiers with AK47. The big money are ready to take the retail traders' money without blinking an eye. I can see big money taking some profits on some oil and gas stocks just after the sudden rise in prices of the oil stocks, (the prices fell), thus retail traders bought at higher prices and then just few minutes after the price started rising again, knowing about not buying around overbought area is very important..

BEST TRADING APPS IN ORDER OF PREFERENCE
1ST- Passfolio
2nd- Chaka
3rd- Trove

Passfolio is number one due to commission free trading. You are charged some fees on your initial transfer and on withdraw (average 3% for in and out), but as long as you do not withdraw your money, you can buy and sell multiple times free

Chaka is good for reason of financial strength/strong Management /connections.

Except you get the likes of 212, which may be fairly difficult to open account with compared with the above 2. The 1st 2 should be okay for you.

Note that this recommendation is based on our experience on theses platforms, we trade nearly everyday. For example I have done something on Trove platform today, the platform is still grappling with getting things right on their new plaform at the moment (they will get it right), but customer relations is like 20% out of 100.

I love this global stock market. Opportunities shows up from time to time and the dull moments are few.

Along the opportunities brought by the Ukraine crisis, energy stocks have done well and recently coal stocks too joined the rally. Nairaland frontpage today seems tobe telling us that the crisis may likely get messy with Belarus assisting Russia. It mean Monday may be brutal for the market (no change in narrative).

On Monday, aside energy we should look at industries: steel, fertilizer, aluminum (stocks here are few and many close to 100% gains if you look at their price in the last 2 months, unwillingness to take risk prevented many of us from participating, no problem don't blame yourself). Funny thing is that fertilizer/oil seems to go together.

Please do not overthink or try to do any fundamental thinking (the charts will always catch up with the fundamentals, news sometimes deceives, but charts don't lie) , let the charts/system tell you where to put your money.

SOME LOCAL PLATFORMS ARE JUST A BIG MESS
I am always annoyed when a business does not care about Customers. Good customer relations is one of the reason I value Chaka. I remember some issues with the platform not too long ago. Quick intervention by Chaka's top management resolved the matter promptly and it never happened thereafter.

I will not mention this app that is misbehaving at the moment, but is the one that has a supposedly improved platform. Unfortunately they did not do their homework and as usual, half baked platform was presented as new. I hope they sort out themselves fast.

Market was fairly difficult today, but as usual we are looking forward to next week.

Let is take caution in this market. We need to keep our stop low, 8 to 10% loss should be our maximum. If you loose over 50% on a trade, it is too much recovering can be pretty difficult. This was emplified by this Russia crisis, if you invest I. A Russian based business or one that has substantial operation in Ukraine and the market handed you 90% loss in 3 days (except you have very small investment in the stock), recovering from such a loss can be a very big task. Assuming your initial investment was 10$, 90% loss takes it to 1%, the following day the stock gains 40%, you are back at 1.40%, if another time the stock gains 50% again you are at 2.10$, how many 50% gains will take you back to $10, I leave that to you.

I am worried, but not too much 7about people not posting a lot here, have you visited other US stock forums? Is there any that is more active and informative than this? Please let me know and I will be part of it too.

I will be posting the best time of the Trading day to make your purchases, very important as it works. I just missed 3% gain for disobeying the rule today. Earlier in the week, obeying this made me a huge 6% profit in one day

LIVE MARKET UPDATE 4 MARCH - 6.30PM WA

The market is In a zone where everybody seems to be afraid. Now there is profit taking in most of the stocks.

We may need to slow down in adding to our portfolios, especially those stocks in overbought zones, it is tempting, but some of the risk are just not worth it?

The problem now is that there is a limit to which Russia can be punished without bringing down the market worldwide. Everybody knows this, this is why Russia may continue till Ukraine is captured? This is the truth!!!

Monday will be another day. We need to watch our portfolios, technology stocks are in big danger? We may need to take some losses along the way and cash out our big wins before they turn to loss.

EARLY COMMENT ON 4 MARCH
This Russia/Ukraine War is derailing markets. Any company with operations in either Countries now stand the risk of the stock goin down. This has added additional risk.

We need to play this market with caution as volatility can be high, we need to keep our stops small. If our stop is hit, we should just take a break from the market for some days.

Now I can see profit taking on those plays that are in alignment with the crisis.

For some areas in Lagos Electricity is turning our thinking to a war situation scenerio, some people that need some electricity for doing work (just normal light consumption like hair dressers, tailors etc) just need to start moving to another area entirely if they need their sanity or people start taking their phones to neighbour's with generators, another street etc. This creat the need to look for money for relocation, as NEPA has declared to some
areas that their light cab never improve
