ANOTHER FAIR DAY IN THE MARKET/BAMBOO SECURE MORE FUNDS & OPEN GHANA OFFICE
Today not too bad, you can rate our picks for today (sorry I have not checked them, been busy with our portfolio, this is a serious game, but I know will score a pass mark, aw WARRI no dey carry last).

I was happy to learn Bamboo got some funding and finalising plan to have an office in Ghana (they should even move their main operations to Ghana). Moving to Ghana will be better for them at least they can offer blockchain products there without government poking their nose into unnecessary matter. This is a good move. We pray the more products planned to be introdiced will come soon. However, for early adopters like us we expect some improvements in service quality, as the likes of tradezero/futu etc may start taking away Nigetians from local apps due to better quality service.. We still say congrats to the firm.

On people looking for mentors, it is good. But make effort to do some learning before you start investing (you can start with YouTube for the basics of technical indicators, learn about oscillators, Trend, mean reversion etc), as theses are some ingredients necessary for a trading system. Better to start with dividend paying stocks and you need to have a system (becoming good in investing will take time, but be ready to endure).

MARKET COMMENT 28
Market still trying to find a bottom. Support still at 13161.19. As at today from recent high NASDAQ has lost 19.23%. Risk off mode still on, factors favoring bulls are few. Energy sector is hot. $CPG is our stock for today.

Let us be risk conscious so that we can still have money to invest when the market turns back to the bullish side. One of the ways we want to take care of risk is to have as many dividend paying stocks on our portfolio as much as possible/strictly following our system and not be influence to buy popular stocks of the day, it can be tempting but the end is not always good, (looking at how some growth stocks have lost over 40% of their values in the last 2yrs is worrisome, example are JMIA, PLTR, FUBO etc).

We do not need to use all the cash we have in our portfolio, when there is no good opportunity, we should wait for another day.

MARKET COMMENT 27 JAN 2022/PUTIN THE BLOCKHAIN SAVIOUR
Market is in a confusion zone. We just need to exercise caution and go for only very good stocks. The oil sector still looks good, however we should avoid oversold stocks.

Just read the news that Putin instructed the Russian finacial authorities not to ban bitcoin. The President have a instructed that a committee be set up to look into bitcoin. Therefore, if you see blockchain related investments going up, this is one of the reasons behind it (the ban was previously announced abour 3 days ago).

Let us spread our purchases as so many stocks are just recovering and few are in overbought (oil) zone with some traders taking profits. This market is not like 2020 when making money was very easy.

DESPITE ALL THE DREAD ABOUT FOMC WHY IS MARKET GOING UP PRIOR TO REPORT RELEASE!!!

The answer is fairly simple, big money pays for various subscription services to get idea about this type of information before time, For example the market is expecting 1st rate rise to be in March and there is expected to be at least 4 rate rises this year. However, despite knowing these information before hand, there are subscription services by the likes of Reuters (subscription only for big money, use to be some six figures monthly, the subscribers will get something like a text of reports about 2 minutes before the general public and this 2 minutes gap can deliver million in profits for big money). The essence of this is that there is no way retail traders can rely on news to beat the market, the information you are getting is already outdated once the public gets it.

The way out is for us to have a trading system, which is the area of our own expertise. You want to beat the market? It is essential to get our signals, it will put you ahead of many other traders . We are wating for 8pm Nigeria time, if Fed report agrees with paragraph one or is softer, there will be more bullish move by close of market.

Equally, TSLA earnings report after close of market today, if positive will move up the general market and the EV stocks in particular.

Let us enjoy the rest of the market day, it has been a good day for the market and we will continue again tommorrow. .

Another tough day in the market. But everyday in the market, there are always opportunities, but we change our style to play along.

After monitoring the activities for today, some strong stocks were spared the shooting down of the stars. We will continue to follow up on the likes of: SOFI, MGI, LCID, APRN etc. If we are buying in this bearish times we make sure: 1- we scale down. 2- buy only good quality stocks probably with some stories behind them (MGI & APRN may be acquired if the Management gets the right offer). 3. Buy some dividend paying stocks (but snag here is the lack of capital appreciation).

Finally, I want to correct one of my previous comments on Passfolio, fractional shares are allowed, but you will have to buy at market, if put at limit the platform will not execute (just tested it with 0.50 of LCID shares, market is bearish to buy my normal quantity).

Wishing everybody happy weekend. We should not panic. Especially for the blockchain side, these tokens are for the long term, we should just try and absorb the heat, however we should limit ourselves to the top tokens only like BTC, ETHE, MANA, TERA POLYGON, MATIC and use your trading system (if you have no trading system, we can give you one) for entries/buy in trickles don't buy large amount jut at once we are missing the bull, this is a waiting time!!!

We will give you a number of choices, some are already indicated above (only that we would add some dividend plays, do you know that when market is falling we can buy covered call ETFs for some dividends, also the price of these ETFs will not fall drastically neither are they likely to rise in price, for this reason you know you are just buying the covered call ETF for the time the bears will go away and you can sell and move to regular stocks).

Towards the end on the Trading day, there was sell off in the market. One of our trades was hit, we escape with 10% loss on the trade, however commision inclusive (this is a time that small or no commission will be appreciated, but for APPS domiciled in Nigeria zero commission may take some time to come, probably if the volume of business increase and there is a more business friendly Government poicyn), the loss was bearable for our account size. For the rest of the week we stay on the sideline.

Sometimes better to take a small loss than a big one. To ensure our longevity we need to know when to sell, recovering from a big loss can be very difficult!!!

Market is in a zone were predicting what will happen is somehow difficult, this may extend till next week especially 26 and 27 when FOMC meeting for Jan 2022 will take place.

Tommorrow is another day, we will review the losing trade to see what could have been done better on BTU

Dividend is good, but these days I will give more preference to capital appreciation. Dividend stocks tend to stay in one price level for too long, in the long/medium timeframe
stocks with capital appreciation will always win. However, if you do not like risk, dividend may be good for you. NASDAQ is down on issue of rising rate among others. We are taking the market more serious than before. With all confidence we can confirm that we now have a trading system that we would follow consistently. For our trades that are on, if the stocks drops below our stop loss level, we are out. It is a case of whatever is worth doing is worth doing well.

The trades we have on are BTU, SID & BTG.

Again we want to say that it is no joke that 90% of investors in the market will lose (this is worldwide not just in Nigeria). We need to adhere to good rules of trading/investing, buy into an uptrend, sell into resistance, be willing to keep losses small and you need subscription to the right tools and services (if you are using the chart from your broker or free version of charting platforms, this is not enough)

I have installed for so many traders in porthacourt, they use it either for phone charging, making of iced blocks and also means of electricity, instead of generators for football shows. U can go online and google them. The machine plus the pipe, and plugs should be 68k. We have different. FB is still a quoted stock and they have some investments in metaverse items, but these are still part of the company.

If you are interested in metaverse related stocks there are a couple of them aside FB: MTTR, RBLX etc.

For now some good metaverse tokens/projects in the top categories are : SANDBOX, MANA,AXS, AVAX etc. You can further follow on this in the US stock forum. Equally you can message me for an introductory material if interested.

Today proceeded according to our plan. We now have SLVO, BTG in our portfolio.

Like the popular saying "I cannot come and kill myself". These are relatively safe stocks, our dividends are guaranteed. However, if the stock hit a strong resistance point, we will sell.

Am still trying to wrap my head around dividend stocks.

For example for GIS which yield is about 3percent. Does that mean if i invest 1000 dollars, i will get around 30 dollars as dividend for a whole year ?

Yok wrote a beautiful post about REITs which includes Orchid capital with an excellent yield of 15% but my fear like most dividend stock is that the stock price has gradually fallen from about 15 dollars to 4.64.

Please why do people invest in dividend stocks when the yields are either small or the stock price gradually reduce to cause investors a loss rather than profit?

Mistake that most of us makes when investing in dividend stocks is that, as at the pint we want to buy, we just want to buy immediately without waiting for the right time. For example SBSW, SSSS are good dividend stocks at good buying zone at the moment. Mistake we made is that we buy at highs and as we believe the stocks are for long term we fail to sell at small loss and end end up holding such stocks with big losses..

Overseas people buy divided stocks that pay small dividend due to low interest in deposits over there. Some investment in Government securities even attracts no interest. This is the reason why subscribing to our service is important. We can guide you.

Market in a fearful state, telling us to throw away our emotions. Due to circumstances beyond our control, we are just using charts without indicators (but since we have master our system simple charts are okat to take decisions, between LCID, BTG & SLVO (

Like what we learn at school about good statistical indicators, we will say for example that mean is better than median as it can be used for further calculation.
