If not for the likes of passfolio (0% commission), I too may have stopped posting like others. However, I will say, no commission trading is bringing out the beast in us and our morale is high, definitely we should be bringing more money to the market.

We want to continue playing in this market for the long term. We have learnt the ropes: have the right education academically and practically. For the benefit of our followers: I trained at Ghana Stock Exchange and obtained the final certificate passing all required exams,have BSc in Banking & finance, must have read up to 200 trading books minimum (and still continue going over some of the books), subscribed to some of the best investment advisory services, must have bought my first stock over 25yrs ago, use a charting service that keeps most of the market wizards systems/software derivatives at our disposal etc.

With the above, I am sure you should be able to trust us that we mean business in this market. Continue to follow us and you will not be disappointed.

RUSSIA ISSUE HAS MADE MARKET LOOK SIMPLE?
This is funny, but seems to be the reality on ground did you see our picks for this morning (we bought on Monday), preparing to make the last trade for the week today. The simple equation is for the general market go short, then on sectors: Energy, Metals, commodities.

Let’s assume The stock begins to dip and you haven’t withdrawn your dividends, will ur accumulated dividends be affected in any capacity?

If dividend has been paid into your wallet, that money/dividend not withdrawn is your cash it is intact as long as you have not withdrawn it or use it to buy another stock.

However, probably you want to frame your question in another way: if the stock is going down, will my next divedend reduced? For this case it may not reduce unless the company is experiencing reduced profitability and the management decide to cut the dividend?

The few days of the war has made the market very volatile. Any small news seems to have effect on prices, but the daily timeframe seems more stable while the shorter time frames fluctuates much. For this we just need to focus on the daily charts, there is no need to panic. Trading with the trend is important/we are likely to make the biggest losses trying to catch a bottom.

At a time like this only good quality stocks will do. For this reason, in our stock picks we give preference to stocks with at least some earnings. Therefore, our equation is earnings plus uptrend. SHORTING SIDE LOOK ENTICING, BUT AGAIN I LOOK AT THE FACTS

This is a dangerous product. I learn if for any reason our 3x investment goes the other way by 33%, we loose all our money?

Due to the above, I want to restrict myself on this short side. Why are we shorting, Russia invade Ukraine, risk: a truce is found suddenly? If we stick to this we will keep our focus where it should be.[/b]

I will scan a number of inverse ETFs, however, whaever we do will only be available to the public at the end of the day. Our Options:
- Buy a Oil/Gas Stock/ETF
- Buy Gold/Silver/ Etf
- Buy an inverse ETF anyone at all

This inverse thing is very tempting. We just made about 8% in [b]UNG in about 3 days this is my motivating factor for looking at the options above.

CONDITION WARRANTS OUR PLAYING ON THE SHORT SIDE 24 FEB 2022
Due to fact that shorting is expected to be a hedge against the buying side, it is expected to be a temporary play, plus the fact that you Will not get any dividend paying ETF (ETF for short side of the market are called inverse ETF) on the short side, example are SQQQ, QID, FNGD, UVXY etc).

So If you buy an inverse ETF, know that you must be ready to sell maximum, like 2 or 3 weeks and do not start with the high leverage 3x type.

The worst has happened with Russia's invasion of Ukraine. Temporarily the "short" side seems to be safe. Commodity stocks are immediate beneficiaries. With OPEC meeting for next week oil will likely remain strong. *CRK* is our stock today.

Another though day in the market. Our scan indicated that the metals (Gold, silver) are still doing well, however, for Gold I hope we should realize that if we buy now, we may be a little late for the party, therefore a tight stop may be necessary. Russia Ukraine crisis is still affecting the market negatively. We need to apply caution. If Russia does not attack Ukraine by the time we wake up tommorrow morning, there may be some respite for the market!!!

This morning, intervention seems to have slightly cool down the tension on Russia Ukraine crises, as per the quotes below.

But we still need to be on our guards as, Russia is taking this matter like a game.

However, we can relax a little knowing that by opening of market tomorrow, bearishness of the market will likely reduce.

MARKET UPDATE 20 FEB 2022
This Russia/Ukraine crisis is turning the market upside down. Except there is a sort of compromise tommorrow, the market may continue falling.

What do we do. We have no option but to wait on the sideline. Personally, I will support the staying on the sideline (it is not all the time we should be in the market). Going further, looking at the idea behind the blockchain tokens (I will probably not talk about this again anywhere, except in our WhatsApp group).. One of the reasons blockchain was created is to empower the masses, those that have been relegated to the poverty line for one reason or the other and can never make any substantial money in their lifetime to gain financial freedom. This is why the big Institution and Government will like to crush blockchain if they have their way, however, this is not possible, Due to this reason, the falling market maybe a time to buy some bitcoin but use a system that will ensure you are buying at a bottom, for us we want to use a pivot system (we know we are buying not for immediate gain, probably we will have a mind of locking up this money for the next 12 months).

Market is down, we just need to take our mind away from putting more money in the market till this Russia/Ukraine crisis sees some headway. It is a painful decision but we have no other option, especially if we have lost money in the market resently. We will continue to brainstorm on what we can do again like looking at buying inverse ETF or shorting

Market still unpredictable due to Ukraine crisis as main driving force of the market at the moment. Not a time to panic, for stocks in metals/oil sector we should not be in a hurry to sell unless we see our target hit.

Rumor of pending truce on Ukraine matter should b be taken with grain of salt. We are still on the sideline, but NU showed a good setup (we are paper trading this only).

Today the market looks bad. One of those days that you just have to cation yourself without beign told.

A smart person will like to learn fron his own experience, a wise person will learn from the experience of another person. Better to be a wise person, if you try to be smart in this market you are likely to loose a lot of money. So many issue goes into Global stock investing than what youtube will teach, but youtube can be a good starting point, but I can bet you that youtube will never make you profitable (this will be after losing some money?) .

When, I learnt that there are many stock promoters on the internet, it was a big sho k for me, but that is the reality.

For now we keep our cash, not a time to be aggressive in the market, let us see what will happen on Ukraine.

US STOCK PICKS 17 FEB
Market is in confusion,likely to open negative, may subside later in the day. This will be a difficult market, we are watching the #market but staying on the sidelines.

You need a trading system to give U an edge in your trading.

I am worried this morning, looking at some previously high flying stocks now trading at a fraction of their previous prices (GRWD is an example) . Equally you can see many US stock trading forums now deserted, why. This is not an easy market to trade. The remedy is for us to be prepared to learn and get the right tools [/b]so that we can be around, when the market turns properly bullish.

There is money here, but making the money demands that we take this as a serious business and equip ourselves.

For newbies I want to post a very comprehensive introduction on stock trading, but want to avoid ban due to the many references in the right up? Will probably take the risk of making the post anytime from now. Also, if we start getting assess to options, trading Global Stocks from Nigeria will become more profitable? This is the reason we should not panic. Towards close of market, things improved slightly. We are not likely to do anything for the rest of the week, only to start planning for next week.

Our portfolio is good with no usual risk..

Due to the scary way the market started we had no plan to buy anything and it is not possible to change the plan suddenly.!!!

TODAY 16 FEB- LIVE MARKET COMMENT
Today is like a black swan day, I am a little bit surprised, that Russia is still building up troops at Ukraine border. This is a spoiler news for the market. However, if we had a diversified portfolio, there should be no damage to our account.

Let us not panic, tommorow is another day. We just need to incorporate things like this into our plan plus the big inflation news. Temporarily oil/other commodity stocks need to continue to be in our portfolio. Personally for commodity stocks, daily commodity prices makes them volatile and doing buy and hold may not work. For now, nothing new to consider, for commodity stocks we should buy ones that are dividend paying and as close to support as much as possible (like of PAA, CLF, REI etc).

Let us not be discouraged by unexpected events. Can you observe that people are happy to report on other people's pain than success, Bitcoin has been fairly stable but no comment, I remember the last news on frontpage of Nairaland, Bitcoin falls to 38 (let us just forge ahead, Bitcoin will survive along with metaverse, Senior Staffers are exiting big institutions like JP Morgan, Google to join Chainlink, ALGORAND etc).

Have a blessed week. Note that next Monday is public holiday in US there will be no trading, Fridays of long weekends can be bearish? Let us have this in mind.

LIVE MARKET C0MMENT/FURTHER COMMENT ON AMAZON
Today not too bad. We bought HOOD today using our trading system.

Amazon declared earning after close yesterday, it jumped up. This is good, but our advise to wait is best, only gamblers try to trade earnings (it is like playing a game after full time has expired and now to be decided by penalties). Now that the earnings is out of the way one can buy on pullback to support, buying today when the stock gapped up with about 15% is no no. A good pullback will be about 7% off today's close or look for some pullback in the next few days.

Again, I looking at our indicators with the risk factor incorporated into any pick, we have no option but to keep our stop tight or maximum of 8%..

NASDAQ closed positive for the week 2.38%

Wait. Let us see when it starts coming up again to around 2973 zone. It has fallen a lot (a stock that has fallen a lot can still keep falling,. We should discard the idea that it lloks cheap) , we should avoid the emotion of trying to catch tge bottom, it can send us out of the market faster than we can imagine.

BEST APP THAT ENABLE YOU MANAGE YOUR TRADING ACCOUNT
In terms of an app that shows you your cumulative profit and profit for the day correctly, Passfolio is good. For others you may need to keep an excel sheet to know your real profit. This is an area where Chaka and Trove need to work on.

For Trove, the platform is so dumb that once you sell part of a stock, the brain of the platform scatters, whatever percentage profit or loss for that particulate stock will not be correct.

For Chaka, knowing the cumulative loss or profit is not possible, it only shows profit/loss for the day. Also, you need to go and learn computer science to see your order history, ie know the price you executed an old order (Trove gets this one right, the order history recall is bam )

[b]On the whole on terms of showing our profit or loss without us doing personal calculations ourselves, chaka anf Trove need to learn from Passfolio [/b]or they should go to drivewealth for assistanc. Thank God both Chaka and Trove have not been sending assessment forms again, I believe they already know that they are failing in this area. We hope they will see this message and start working on how to improve

Show us how many postings you have made telling us stocks to buy? If not for the likes of YOK this forum would have been inactive. Let us bring our ideas. People need longevity in the market to be successful and how do we achieve longevity without profitable ideas. Please let us all start contributing. I tested stopping for 2 days and nobody posted anything!!! This forum will not die it is a source of viable opportunity to make money if we have good trade ideas. We cannot achieve perfection with no idea, for example the rule of avoiding buying 2 close to earning dates or on FOMC meeting dates are rule which somebody can be reminding us about. Somebody simply posting about things like this will be a valuable contrition to the forum!!!
