Personally I think the electoral college makes sense. That way every state has a say in the presidential elections. Imagine states like Alaska, Delaware and the likes with population less than a million nobody would care about them

This isn't remotely true.

In this election the only states both campaign cared about were swing states.
Trump never campaigned in Alaska cause he knew he'd easily win it.
Biden never campaigned in Delaware cause he knew he'd easily win it.
The states you mentioned, no one cared about them.

They only traveled to and campaigned in states that determine the election. So how is it different from what the electoral college is 'trying' to avoid?

The Queen's Gambit

7 amazing episodes I binged in a day.
This marvelous series came out of nowhere and just happens to be the greatest love story to chess.
I expected the lead actress to be another genius Mary Sue but she actually had not only relatable moments but moments of vulnerability that made you root for her.

The cinematography was my best part of the entire work.

Btw, one of these days someone will make a story about a genius savant and it won't be about them going insane. I'm sure of it undecided

Trump just tweeted
STOP THE COUNT!
grin

He wants to stop counting votes in places where he's ahead, keep counting votes in places where he's behind and recount votes in places where he lost.

Looks like Biden is on his way to be the 46th president of the USA.Michgan is turning blue. Nevada is a blue state already.

Pennsylvania won't matter after all.

Sorry Trump fans, your man had 4 years to convince people, and he wasn't too convincing.

68 million people voted for him.
His base showed up for him and did their best (I'll never understand his appeal and why they love him so), the only problem is people who hated him more showed up in much higher numbers.

Trump campaign is calling for a recount in Wisconsin.

But, the margin needs to be less than 1 percent for a recount in Wisconsin. Trump will have to pay about $3 million for it unless the margin is less than one quarter of 1 percent.

I love this. grin
When he won WI in 2016 the margin was even smaller.
Nobody demanded a recount, what a sore loser

It can go back to Biden if they find out all votes weren't counted and Biden wins.
In a democracy all votes must count before a winner is declared

Yes.
Now we need Michigan and Nevada to stay blue and it's 270

I read that over 27k mail in ballots weren't counted in Florida so Biden might even flip that one grin

Worthy of note is that Pennsylvania still has over 3million votes to count, mostly Mail in. You know what that means. Even PEN is still up for grabs as it stands with only 64% of the votes counted.

I'm loving it ooo

Even Georgia.
Apparently suburbs around Atlanta, a populous democratic stronghold haven't been tallied yet so Biden might flip the state

Mail-in ballots should have been counted before the polls closed like in Florida and Ohio.

Republican led legislature in Penn, Michigan and Wisconsin refused to allow mail in ballots and absentee ballots be processed and counted before election day.

They know that's a democratic stronghold and want to suppress and undermine those votes.

Very true....

But then again, it is still a new disease.

Plus, Asian countries are more collectivist than the US......plus they still had mortalities.

The Asian countries should be world power.
They should be the standard.

Especially South Korea. When I read about their contact tracing system and how they developed and distributed digital maps to inform citizens about public routes taken by infected covid patients and to steer clear of those areas, I was mind blown!

In fairness to Trump , COVID19 is a whole new disease.(It's not like Ebola where there are tons of literature on that. Covid.? What we know isn't even enough....and more new info keeps coming in)

The same number of people would hve died regardless of who was in charge....plus an argument can be made that the US's failure to deal with lifestyle related illnesses over the years (and let's be frank, dealing with lifestyle illnesses isn't simple)..they were a sitting duck for covid19.

Then there is the economic impact. It's easy to shut down the economy, it's not easy to cover for financial losses when that happens.

I just like to point out that East Asian countries that share borders with China or have proximity to it, that also have similar economic index to America have far fewer cases and deaths because these countries routinely have mask mandates due to high soot emissions from industrial factories.

They didn't protest masks. . .they just wore them.
Look at em now.

"We were winning everything. And all of a sudden it was called off,” Trump said. It was not clear what he was talking about.

He says he has enough lead to put some states in his column but those states haven't counted mail in ballots and early in person voting yet.

Not exactly. More analysts are now seeing a better path to 270 for Biden than for Trump.

After 2016, I take analysts' 'analysis' with a grain of salt.
They're saying the mail in ballots haven't been counted in those regions but whose to say they'll make up for the deficit and put Biden ahead?

Biden will win...
But it seems unlikely, but this election is tense
Currently all the blue states are in the basket, jus the Reds states left

Trump is leading in these states currently, I see an easier path to 270 for Trump than Biden
