Sen. Oluremi Tinubu, the wife of the presidential candidate of APC, said she will give voice to the voiceless if she becomes the country’s first lady in 2023.

She said this on Saturday in Abuja when she visited Karon-Majigi Ward of Gwarimpa and Yar Goje Community of Abuja Municipal Area Council to meet with widows, Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs), and people with special needs.

Remi explained that the visit was not to campaign, but to familiarise and give support to the less privileged and to let them know that she felt their pains.

“I am here today because of the work ahead of us, you don’t just jump into the waters without learning how to swim.

“This is like a familiarisation tour to every part of Abuja, to know the people who have special needs and to see how we can ameliorate their sufferings.

“Because in a situation like this, they are more like voiceless, so we are here to see and assure them that they are not alone and that we feel their pains.

“So at least, if God happens to get us to that exalted position, we don’t just go there blindly without really understanding what is in our communities and environs,” Remi Tinubu said.

She said she would embark on visits to other communities ahead of the 2023 general elections to have first-hand information about what was going on in local communities.
This, she added, was to enable her to know how she could meet the needs of the people.

She noted that the President Muhammadu Buhari-led Federal Government had done so well in spite of obvious challenges.

She added that if elected, the Tinubu-Shettima presidency would leverage Buhari’s achievements to ensure a better living for all Nigerians and the development of the country.

Those who attended the event with Remi Tinubu include Nana Shettima, wife of Sen. Kashim Shettima, APC Vice-Presidential candidate, and the party’s National Women Leader.

Tinubu who currently represents Lagos Central in the Senate, distributed food items, including rice, maize, beans, cartons of Indomie noodles, vegetable oil, and condiments to the less privileged in the communities visited.

She also presented a cash gift to members of the communities to share.

Gov. Hope Uzodimma of Imo, says the All Progressives Congress (APC), will triumph in the South-East in the 2023 general election, because it is the only party with structures in all the 774 Local Government Areas (LGAs) of the country.

Uzodimma, also the Chairman of APC Presidential Campaign Council in the South-East, said this at a seminar organised by the party for its candidates in Owerri.
” APC is already winning and will win in the South-East because APC is the only political party that has party structure at the polling units and booths in all 774 LGAs of the country, “ he said.

Uzodimma said that the seminar was aimed at planning for a successful electioneering campaigns for 2023 poll.

“The participants must carry others along as they cannot lead or win elections in isolation,” he said.

He said that the South-East has every cause to appreciate what President Muhammadu Buhari has done for the zone in his almost eight years as the President of Nigeria.
He listed the president’s achievements in the South-East to include the second Niger Bridge and the rehabilitation of the Federal Highways in the zone.

Others were the establishment of a Naval Base in Oguta LGA of Imo as well as the on-going reconstruction of 200 bed hospital at Imo University Teaching Hospital Orlu by NNPC, among others.

He cautioned members of the party against deceit by groups who often claim to support the South-East Presidency after they failed to support aspirants from
the zone at the presidential primaries of the APC.

“The Igbo people have been a victim of mistaken identity. There is the need for the South-East to take their destiny in their own hands because if you don’t say I am, nobody will say you are,” he said.

An All Progressives Congress group, the South-West Grand Alliance For Tinubu-Shettima 2023, has said that though APC presidential candidate, Bola Tinubu, did not found Lagos State, he transformed the state with his “blueprint”.

The group’s Executive Director, Wole Badmus, said this on Channels Television’s Sunrise Daily programme on Wednesday.

“Nobody is claiming that Tinubu is the founder of Lagos. Nobody is saying that Tinubu is the person that discovered Lagos; what we are saying is that Tinubu became governor at a time when Lagos was a brink of collapse. He became governor at a time that the infrastructural decay in Lagos was unprecedented,” Badmus said.

“We are not saying that Tinubu brought Lagos; what we are saying is that Tinubu transformed Lagos and people must face that reality,” he added.

On his part, another APC Chieftain, Tunde Bank-Anthony, who spoke on the programme alongside Badmus on the programme, said Tinubu cannot take glory for the achievements of his successors.

However, Badmus emphasised that Tinubu laid the foundation of modern Lagos for his successors – Babatunde Fashola, Akinwunmi Ambode, and Babajide Sanwo-Olu – to build upon.

He said, “When you are talking of Ambode, Fashola, Sanwo-Olu, all these are products of Tinubu’s school of thoughts. As at 1999, Tinubu has a 25-year development plan both in the short term, medium term and long term which all successive governors of Lagos State are working on. Do you know that the Blue and Red Line train that people are talking about now are in the blueprint Tinubu made as at 1999.
