PoliticsRe: Ojukwu’s Burial: Massob Declares Sit-at-home Order by youngmonie: 7:49pm On Jan 12, 2012
Olodostein:
The Movement for the Actualization of the Sovereign State of Biafra, MASSOB has declared sit at home order on the day of the burial of the former Biafran warlord, Dim Chukwuemeka Odumegwu Ojukwu.
In a statement by the MASSOB Director of Information, Uchenna Madu, the order was a mark of honour and respect to their former leader who would be buried in his country home.

“As mark of honour and respect to His Excellency, Dim Chukwuemeka Odumegwu Ojukwu MASSOB has declared sit at home ‘s on the 3rd February for Biafrans. All markets, shops motor parks, schools, airport, banks and offices shall be closed from 7am to 4 pm. Ndigbo residing outside Igbo land are mandated to observe the sit at home order as mark of loyalty to Eze Igbo.”

The statement further said “Ojukwu was a greatest Igbo man ever lived, he deserved the most suitable state burial. Ojukwu’s body shall lie in state at his Casabianca lodge, GRA, Enugu on 2nd February. Local and foreign dignitaries including a high- powered delegation of Nigerian government led by President Goodluck Jonathan and some AU/UN delegates will attend the ceremony”
“On 3rd, Ojukwu shall be buried at his Umudim Nnewi home after church service and other traditional rites. All who wish to attend the burial shall go to Nnewi on the evening of 2nd February as no movement will be on 3rd February,” he said.

Comrade Madu also said that the movement had perfected plans to give adequate security to everyone that will attend the burial ceremony of the former Igbo leader, adding that the recent security challenge in Nigeria will not affect their resolve to give Ojukwu a befitting burial. He called on all Ndigbo in different parts of the world to observe the sit at home as part of last respect to the deceased whom he said was committed to Igbo cause and urged them to always remember him in prayers.

playboy19:
Read this and tell me what you think after reading it,

Please let's enlighten ourselves for a minute. For your information, the above listed companies are just 11% of the beneficiaries of the subsidy. 87% of the oil imported into Nigeria is by NNPC itself (why is NNPC name not on top of the list?) which means 87% of the subsidy paid went back to NNPC (Where NNPC = Gov't = Cabal). The remaining 2 percent are the other independent importers who brought in their product without lobbying for the PSF (Petroleum Support Fund, i.e Subsidy).

Now your question should be, how would the independent importers make profit when they do not benefit from the so called subsidy? The answer is, there is nothing like subsidy in the first place.

As at this morning the landing cost for

PMS (Petrol) = N47/litre

AGO (Diesel) = N82/litre

Jetty fee + Tank farm shouldn't charge more than N2 per litre, so add that up. Meaning the total expenditure to Tank Farm in Lagos is N49 per litre. So if we sell for N65/litre, there will be a N16 profit margin between the importer and the filling station owner. If you are into oil and gas, you will realize that, this is alotta money considering the quantity you are importing, so what the heck is the meaning of subsidy?

Any oil importer can call me out on this one if you think my analysis is wrong and we'll iron it out. Now after the N16 profit between the importer and the filling station, the federal govt now comes out to tell us they paid some "selected people" an extra N75/litre as subsidy, which bring the profit margin to N75+ N16. Does this make any sense?

Subsidy is just a way invented by the government to pay the cabal (Cabal AKA.The Kitchen Cabinet; meaning the Super-Advisers, a position which is called The Consiglierie  in Mafia). This Cabal majorly comprises of powerful Ex office holders,  like the ex presidents, ex senator presidents and the likes and they act as the super advisers to the present president while subtly fine-tuning him to make policies that will suite their own purpose. Not forgetting that they were the ones who endorsed him both at the primary level and at the general election and majority of his campaign funds came from them. ANd now that he is the president as they wanted, it's now a "Fukk you pay us" situation.

Now in my opinion, i believe the country is broke and in a big debt. Jonathan now realizes that he can no longer pay this Cabal AKA The GodFathers directly from the government purse and he's not trying to stand in their way from collecting their entitlement, hence he's putting the burden on the citizen. So now, look at it from the above analysis, if you buy PMS at N140,  you are directly paying the subsidy by yourself to the Cabal and the fortunate ones in this situation is the independent importer. They dont need to even think of lobbying for PSF now, they only need to bring in their product as usual and sell at N140, which automatically gives them the same profit margin as the Cabal. This is why i was telling someone on the other thread that, he must be joking for claiming that Otedola, Adenuga and Dantatas of the world are the one sponsoring NLC and NTU, what would be their gain? Do you think they'll have the time now? I can tell you they're all busy tracking their next Vessels to Naija right now.

There is a lot to say but hey, i don't think i'd make a good lecturer. But let's all seek knowledge and know what exactly we are fighting for and against. It's not about the subsudy removal, it's about fighting the godfatherism trend that has been enslaving us for like god knows when. Let's stand up and fight it out NOW.

And to all the paid "internet stand-up guys" like beaf and co,  you are free to post all your idi.otic comments all you like, it's what you've been paid for, so I wouldn't blame you. Just make sure at least one is sensible.

=======

Hey, for you all to confirm what i was talking about, i just found a 2006-2008 PSF PPPRA report. Please take a look at it and check how many percent of the subsidy goes to NNPC and confirm what i am talking about

http://www.pppra-nigeria.org/briefonadministrationofPSF.pdf

wow shocked shocked shocked!!, Thanks for the proper break down because to me I was wondering whts the point of calling them cabals wen der still gonna make their huge profit margins when the "subsidy" has been removed!! But if 87% of the fuel is imported by NNPC, I guess some1shud be accountable for all those monie they termed subsidy since NNPC is a government owned corporation!
PoliticsRe: Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala And Sanusi On AIT Matters Arising by youngmonie: 5:05pm On Jan 10, 2012
Im still very much confused on this subsidy issue. Fine the  production capacity of Nigerias Refineries cannot meet up with the daily demand in fuel consumption. So therefore companies etc OANDO and the rest are  given licences to import  it. They import at a certian price which was to expensive for Nigerians even as they (importers)  would calculate all theri cost. The government then decides to subsidize  the cost therefore they ( Government bears some of the cost) and Nigerians paid N65. On the list released by  Government which people tagged them as CABAL ( Which I dont see them as, they were simply doing business. I was given a licence tO import fuel and  the government DECIDES TO PAY  subsidy, so what makes me a cabal. The government allowed it dint they?) THE  main issue is the astronomical increase in the number of importers within a certain period of time which was very crazy.  cos i believe there should be  a short to medium term plan in place b4  the completion of refineries.

13.    For the year 2012, the basic salaries of all political office holders in the Executive arm of government will be reduced by 25%. Government is also currently reviewing the number of committees, commissions and parastatals with overlapping responsibilities. The Report on this will be submitted shortly and the recommendations will be promptly implemented. In the meantime, all Ministries, Departments and Agencies must reduce their overhead expenses.

Bullocks, Executive arm? is this man serious saying 25% of their BASIC SALARY, what  of all those huge allowance  they get( Furniture allowance,  news paper allowance an things they are not neccesary), cmmon we are not idiot. And what of the LEGISLATIVE ARM ( Senate and house of rep) that also earn a fortune in stupid ALLOWANCES

Its really sad: In a country where the minimum wage 18,000 ( which has not be implemented) and the inflation rate of 11% which is even set and then you remove subsidy again all in the name of to help the masses. I mean its crazy. The same masses that virtually have to pay for everything from healthcare, education transport accommodation, feeding and you want them to live on 18k and then some silly governors willl still tax this 18k!! PATHETIC ( Because i dont see employers increasing the wages of employees even as inflation is rising, rather most will be cutting salaries or jobs to reduce their own cost)

i have read most post on dis thread. i havent really seen anyone  who has  really stated the multiplier effects  as a removal of d subsidy. Which is the important question we should really be asking. fine money gotten would be put into other projects, but  how long  are people gonna feel the effects and long are the developmental projects gonna be completed.

I dnt see how it can be contained in a country like nigeria.  And even the developmental projects dey say they woul carry out may not even have an effect in  few years to come. so i dnt see  aw the multiplier  would be contained, I really hope it doesnt throw some ppl into the unemeployment market bco of firms  increased cost.
PoliticsSubsidy Withdrawal Is Ploy To Make You Fail, South South Monarchs Tell President by youngmonie(op): 2:38am On Dec 31, 2011
The Rivers State Council of Traditional Rulers has cautioned President Goodluck Jonathan against the proposed removal of fuel subsidy.
Speaking through their chairman, King (Prof) Theophilus Princewill during an interactive session with journalists at the council’s secretariat in Port Harcourt yesterday, the royal fathers said removing the subsidy could be a ploy to make him not to succeed as the first person from the South-South zone to occupy the exalted position.
The traditional rulers also condemned the “acts of terror” through bomb blasts by “Islamic extremists called Boko Haram,” which they said had been killing innocent Nigerians and destroying property across Northern Nigeria.
They admonished the President to have more consultations on the
planned removal of fuel subsidy, in order no to make theadministration unpopular at this crucial period of bomb blasts byBoko Haram, while the fuel cartel should also be dislodged.
The royal fathers added: “President Jonathan should be very careful over the planned removal of fuel subsidy. Many regimes have come andgone, without removing the fuel subsidy. Our (South-South) man is there. They do not want him to succeed.
“This is the first time a South-South man has come to the limelight. The many challenges are to thwart his efforts. He must be careful.”

President Goodluck Jonathan, former Head of State Muhammadu Buhari, and the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) are among eminent Nigerians and institutions who have condemned the Christmas Day church blasts in several states of northern Nigeria.

“These acts of violence against innocent citizens are an unwarranted affront on our collective safety and freedom,” the President said in a statement by his spokesman, Reuben Abati, adding, “Nigerians must stand as one to condemn them.”

In his response, General Buhari said, "Bombing other human beings to death at any time is callous. It becomes much more reprehensible on a Christmas day and all lovers of peace must condemn these gruesome acts and demand that the perpetrators be fished out and brought to book."

The bombings took place at the St. Theresa’s Catholic Church, Madalla, Niger State; Jos, Plateau State; and Damaturu, Yobe State.

In a statement, the National Chairman of the PDP, Alhaji Abubakar Kawu Baraje, on behalf of the National Working Committee (NWC), condemned what he called “this recourse to extremist ideologies in a multi-religious and multi-cultural society such as ours and urge our people to take the path of dialogue rather than violence.
