Even in the midst of the thousands of deaths being recorded in their country...even when all evidence shows their country is worst hit by this pandemic...they still consider their country much safer than Nigeria.

i thought it was supposed to be the other way round seeing that the number of cases here is insignificant compared to theirs, but then they know deep down that for every death recorded, their country fought tooth and nail to prevent it.

such priority, such dedication, such genuine concern is more consoling, even in death...and is not guranteed in Nigeria.

On the AA thing it’s the same issues. You can easily identify most AA inhabited places. It’s important to follow this up that I said most and used the word places and not people before they come for my head grin

Are you following the current melee surrounding Funke Akindele? She’s a perfect example and proof of people being the virus in Nigeria.

In her case the government has done the needful. But she singlehandedly decided to host a party during an airborne pandemic and invite some who just came from hotspots without isolating.
lolzzz...you got me at the last part. Nigerians truly have issues. gringrin

i still think the Government should institute strict disciplinary measures for us to behave. Sending unbiased investigators to verify this Funke issue, and then fine them heavily for this disregard for law and order, will be a good way to start. they should be made example of.

AngelicBeing:
A quick add to the Rwanda issue, what you said is correct, [,b]but the underlying cause of the orderliness in Rwanda is because of the koboko flogging Dictator called the BUTCHER OF EAST AFRICA President Kagame, in Rwanda, you must obey the laws of Kagame or you are jailed, missing or killed by his secret agents / members of his killer squads, paid informants and the freedom Nigerians enjoy in Nigeria is not in Rwanda[/b]

Kagame is a small god in Rwanda masquerading as a Democrat but only time will tell before his cup fills up and the treatment of Libya will be visited on him by his opponents / HUTUS tribe who have formed different militias / armed groups / Rebels within the East African community

I visited, met with the Nigerian Ambassador / consular officials who adviced me very well against further investment in the country, l even had a small real Estate investment which I eventually sold off due to the uncertainty about the country, l gave my detailed analysis about Rwanda in one of the thread on this platform

@EgunMogaji the big masquerade eku ishe ooo cheesy
someone finally gets it. The sole reason why these countries are as organized as they are is because the government is strict in implementing policies. Remove these penalties and see even Americans act like animals on the street.

This is how a typical Nigerian thinks and behaves, he blames the government for all the problems around him but does nothing for himself. He also doesn't even know the right people to hold accountable, everything is caused by the President grin while the real culprits join in further confusing them grin nobody bothers to look at the man in the mirror.
You saw how i outlined my arguments logically right??

kindly counter them logically also.

tell us if Americans will obey traffic rules if there are no speeding tickets or if there will be good roads in America without taxes.

also tell us who ensures all these speeding tickets are issued timely and that these taxes are collected to the last penny.

also tell us who utilizes these taxes. Oh, i guess the average American does all these by himself. the government has no role in it.
TravelRe: Yankee To Naija: Thoughts And Experiences by youngRx(m):
EgunMogaji2:
In my humble opinion, Nigeria’s problem is the people.

Now, not that the people are completely bad, it’s just that most have character flaws that’s detrimental to development.

Change the mind frame of the people and watch positive development explode in the country.

The government can’t do it and they can only create an enabling environment. When the government builds bridges it is the people that will go and steal the aluminum safety railings to sell.

On the new Lagos Ibadan rail line that yet to be ry is very beautiful. We have mountains, rain forest, rivers, just a fantastic place to live in.
if i may be bold to address some of the issues you raised sir...

1) You talked about orderliness when entering the plane in Houston, and i believe this orderliness extends even to the way our people drive, obey traffic laws and even, queue in line over there.

Don't you think this orderliness stems from the fact that there are strict penalties to unruly behaviours in such climes irrespective of who you are?. for instance, i don't think the police at these airports will hesitate to bundle anyone who behaves anyhow to the station.

humans are disorderly by nature, and the only reason you see the westerners obey every rule is because there are very strict penalties attached to disobeying any single one of them. over time, they become used to the system and it becomes their way of life.

Don't you think if the government starts implementing very strict policies governing disorderliness in public places that people will start acting in an orderly manner??

2) you talked about people stealing rail bolts and all. Don't you think this is as a result of extreme poverty and joblessness in the land?

a man who has not eaten for a day is capable of anything. ofcourse you wont hear such incidence from the western world. WHY?...because even the poorest citizen is guaranteed of his daily meal, and any person capable of working, can find a menial job that pays minimum wage. with minimum wage, they can pay for rent, eat well and even own a car no matter how small or old.

again, why is it possible for minimum wage earners to enjoy basic amenities? because of a thriving economy. How does a country's economy thrive?... the government invests in infastructures, social amenities etc. so that people can own businesses and run them easily.

the Government also supports these businesses with loans, grants and other incentives so that they can make good profit and in turn, pay workers enough to take care of themselves.

Now, how many capital investments has the government made so far? how much of the national budget is even allocated to capital expenditures?? this is how you know if a country is progressing or not...the amount of capital expenditures by the government.

many Nigerians don't even earn a minimum wage, and even those that do, it is not enough to feed for a whole month talk more of saving to enjoy basic amenities.

3. About raising dusts on untarred roads, don't you think if those roads are tarred this won't be a problem? if the government invests in improving quality of life by providing these basic amenities, and then tax the citizens for the constucted roads, don't you think it'll solve this issue? the reason why the western world thrives in basic amenities is because of the robust taxes citizens pay. what stops the government from improving quality of life and then implement such taxing schemes??

To me, government policies have a great role to play in making our beloved nation great again.
Strict policies on bad behaviour; good business and economic policies; Favorable health policies etc. The whole of the civilised world is govern by policies that are implemented to the letter.... and the sooner the government starts making such policies and implementing them honestly, the better for us all.

Then again, i am still a small boy trying to understand his place in life so my views may be highly flawed.

Still mks me wonder though...why some countries have been thriving excellently in every aspects for centuries while others are lagging behind even in this age of easy access to information on how things should be done.

Minimum wage has always been gateway to inflation in Nigeria's economy. Checking chronology pattern of minimum wage and inflation duet, one will see that there is this one-one correspondence and dependency between the two, one greatly effects another.

Solution to workers financial problems is by no means upward review of minimum wage, but by total price control of goods and services. Higher minimum wage means more cash, less value that legal tenders possess and constant market evaluation. Things will always balance up to remain as it was before. What N10 will buy 10years ago, N100 will buy it this present day, so what is the point?
so much sense in one post.

too bad our leaders do not understand simple economics of things.

The strict warning is to those guys who collect thousands of CAD claiming they are "PEBC approved" and should not apply to a Nairaland study group to help each other and share ideas.

This is the disclaimer
"The Pharmacy Examining Board of Canada does not endorse any preparatory course of any kind whatsoever, and any pretence by an individual or group in making such a claim is liable to legal prosecution"

There are many paid tutorial classes that are still thriving and there is nothing wrong with them. PEBC is only saying "Don't claim we gave you approval"

The 47% I posted earlier is the average rate from 2015 to 2018. So no be today.

Apologies if I am derailing this thread o but this is a subset of "Living in Canada".

Canadian Pharmacists biko help us as we start this thread. I will be posting the link to the thread once I start it. Thanks
Nah, that wasn't the warning. The original warning from PEBC borders on copyright infringement and circulation of materials in such groups.

Between, i was a member of those groups, so i know what i am talking about. I was there when they all began to close up.

Also paid tutorials is not the same as a student discussion thread/group. PEBC is more concerned about the latter than the former, because its highly unlikely that you'll have such discussion groups without sharing one or two materials.

The reference to the pass rate was just my own speculation.

Pharmacists in the house...

Please is there any thread on PEBC Exams here on Nairaland? I did check but did not find much here. There is just so much to read and with a pass rate of 47% (more than half of those who write the exams fail it) it will be great to have a thread where we (Nigerians) could discuss study tips, resources and ideas.

I am happy to start one but need to be sure there isn't one already that I may have missed in my search.
Hyy. Actually they used to be several of such groups until the PEBC issued out a strict warning against participating in such groups.

Part of the reason why the syllabus was changed, resulting in the low pass rate being witnessed today.

Some of the Facebook grps are active though, but are now a shadow of themselves.

Hello everyone, please has anyone experienced delay on receiving PEBC evaluation acknowledgment. I sent an email and got no reply. My application was delivered on the 18th of April and still I have not gotten any acknowledgment email. I check my inbox and spam mails regularly. I need advice. Thanks.
PEBC is very notorious for being silent on applications.
if you're sure all your documents, including your transcript, have been sent to them, wait another week or two then send them a mail requesting to know you application status. They will reply.

first, double check with your courier company that all documents have been delivered and signed for. Then state the name of the person who signed for the delivery in your mail.

Note that their silence does not in anyway mean they aren't working on your application. Due to their increasing volume of work, they're finding it difficult to reply mails regularly. you may jst get a mail after the 3-4months processing time, that your report has been dispatched already.

All the best on your EE journey.
