Valto: your reasoning is very poor. A bought voters card is practically useless. Their main of buying it, is to drastically reduce the amount of valid voters in obiano's village.. If agpa ever wanted to buy voters card, i believe they would av started from ngige's hometown alor cos they know his town will definitely vote apc. my point is: apga does not need to buy voters card from the people of aguleri cos its their strongholdHOW MUCH WERE YOU PAID ![]() |

A six-year-old boy was burnt to death in a fire that engulfed a building in Iyana-Ifako area of Gbagada Lagos, Tuesday night. The deceased, identified simply as Abbey, was said to have been sleeping when the incident occurred. Two of his elder brothers were said to have been rescued by sympathisers. The fire affected 10 rooms in the building located at 3, Ogunde Street, off Somori, Iyana-Ifako. The cause of the fire, said to have started at 9p.m., could not be ascertained. While occupants of the buildings scampered from their respective apartments for safety, eyewitnesses said shouts for help from some children in one of the rooms were heard. Some of the sympathisers said to have gone for rescue mission, discovered that the door was locked. One of the eyewitnesses said: “Their parents locked them inside and went out. Nobody knew where they went to. The door was forced opened and two of them rescued, though one of them was slightly burnt. “It was while they got outside that the rescued children said their brother was still inside. By then the fire had engulfed the whole building and nobody could go in again.” The Director, Lagos State Fire Service, Mr. Rasaq Fadipe, said fire trucks from Ilupeju and Ikeja responded to the distress call. He said the charred remains of the six-year-old boy was recovered. http://www.vanguardngr.com/2013/10/6-yr-old-burnt-death-lagos-fire/ |
It has emerged that the voter’s card, the instrument which enables citizens to cast their votes for the election has turned into a marketable commodity in some communities in the state. Politicians are being accused of procuring voters’ cards at the rate of N5000 each in Aguleri and some neighbouring communities. It was gathered that gullible villagers have been falling prey to the development and as they part with their voters’ card, they inform others and the business has been booming. A very reliable source said yesterday that apart from Aguleri, that the business is also booming in villages in Anambra East local government area where two of the major governorship candidates, Tony Nwoye (PDP) and Willie Obiano (APGA) hail from. It was learnt that following the development in the area, people from the neighbouring Ayamelum local government have been trooping to Anambra East to also sell their cards for N5000. An official of INEC, however, dismissed the market, saying that with what the commission has put on ground, it would be useless for such cards to be used by anybody. He however warned that it is an offence for anybody to purchase voters cards, adding that anybody caught would face the wrath of the security agencies. Why we are behind Nwoye -PDP PDP State Chairman Prince Ken Emeakayi has buttressed reasons for putting the support of the state PDP machine behind the candidate, Tony Nwoye. In an interview following the Court of Appeal judgment, Emeakayi said that besides the order of the courts, that Nwoye overwhelmingly won the party primaries that had several other party giants like Prince Nicholas Ukachukwu, Jerry Ugwoke, Emma Anosike among others as participants. “You know PDP is a law abiding political party, we abide by court decisions. Nwoye won overwhelmingly the primaries of the party after which the Federal High Court in its judgment gave judgment in favour of Ukachukwu and which was why the party obeyed and now, the Court of Appeal has given judgment in favour of Tony Nwoye. So, the party is bound by the judgment.” He rebuffed insinuations that the court order came after the deadline for the substitution of party candidates saying: “Going by the provisions of the Electoral Act after submission it is only the courts that can alter that and that is what the court did and it has nothing to do with the deadline. Meanwhile, we have been campaigning. As you are aware, the name of the candidate is never on the ballot, it is the political party. We have been campaigning and we are ready for the election.” http://www.vanguardngr.com/2013/10/anambra-sale-voters-cards-booms/ |
Asaba – The DeltaStateUniversity Chapterof the Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU) on Wednesday warned that implementing the No-Work-No-Pay policy would worsenthe industrial crisis in public universities. The Chairman ofthe chapter, DrEmmanuel Mordi, said in Asaba that the stategovernment was planning to implement thepolicy for the first time. NAN reports that the stateGovernor, Dr Emmanuel Uduaghan, had urged ASUU membersto return to classroom or face implementation ofthe policy. “When the strike is called off, lecturers will say: `No pay, no work’. It does not help anybody; it can only escalate thecrisis. “It is unfortunate that ASUU is at the receiving end, as the government, being stronger, has the power towithhold ASUUmembers’ salaries, he said. He said that ASUU was willing to call off the strike and would do so as soon as theFederal Governmentshowedmore commitment. “We are anxious tocall off the strike, but the governmentsaid we should wait for somany months. “What we must note is that our studentsare also our children. Some lecturersare also students;so, this is a very painful surgical operation, which we have to carry out in the bestinterestofour futuregeneration.” Also theAdamawa chapter of theChristian Association of Nigeria (CAN) on Wednesday said thelingering strike by university teachers in the country could destroythe nation’s tertiary education. The Chairman ofthe association, Rev. Moses Taparki, in an interview in Yola, expressed displeasure over the inability of theFederal Governmentand theAcademic StaffUnion of Universities (ASUU) toresolve the issues. Describing the situation as “unfortunate”, he said it had lingered in spite of appeals and interventions by groups and individuals, and blamed the governmentand the union for their seeming “insensitivity” to theissue. The cleric said the damage thestrike had done to the university systemin thecountry in the past fourmonths would take several years to redress. “The governmentand ASUUshould take responsibility for the sad development. Many groups and individuals, including religious leaders and traditional rulers, have appealed to them but all have been in vain,” hesaid. “For the rigid positions thegovernmentand the university teachershave maintained on the matter, I maintain that both partiesmust take full responsibility for thedamage the strike has done to thesystem,” he stressed. www.vanguardngr.com/2013/10/work-pay-rule-may-escalate-crisis-ASUU/ |

A Lagos-based lawyer, Mr.Daniel Onwe, has dragged the Federal Government and Academic Staff Union of Universities, ASUU, before a Federal High Court, Lagos, over violation of the fundamental right to the dignity of person of the affected students, who have been out of school following the union’s strike. The suit, FHC/CS/1360/13, was brought pursuant to Section 46(1) and (2) of the 1999 Constitution, Order II of the Fundamental Human Rights (Enforcement Procedure) Rules, 2009 and Article 5 of The African Charter on Human and People’s Rights (Ratification and Enforcement) Act, Cap. 10, LFN, 1990. Onwe is asking the court for a declaration that the indefinite strike leading to the closure of government-owned universities across the country violates the fundamental right to the dignity of person of the affected students guaranteed under Section 34 of the 1999 Constitution. He is seeking for an order directing the Federal Government and ASUU to resolve their differences and forthwith re-open universities, including an order mandating ASUU to call off their ongoing strike action and resume their job of lecturing in the said universities immediately. Hearing on the suit, before Justice Ibrahim Buba, is on November 13. http://www.vanguardngr.com/2013/10/lagos-lawyer-sues-fgasuu-strike/ |

24 Bible Verses About Sins Of The Father Exodus 34:7 ESV Keeping steadfast love for thousands, forgiving iniquity and transgression and sin, but who will by no means clear the guilty, visiting the iniquity of the fathers on the children and the children's children, to the third and the fourth generation.” Deuteronomy 24:16 ESV “Fathers shall not be put to death because of their children, nor shall children be put to death because of their fathers. Each one shall be put to death for his own sin. Numbers 14:18 ESV ‘The Lord is slow to anger and abounding in steadfast love, forgiving iniquity and transgression, but he will by no means clear the guilty, visiting the iniquity of the fathers on the children, to the third and the fourth generation.’ Ezekiel 18:19-20 ESV “Yet you say, ‘Why should not the son suffer for the iniquity of the father?’ When the son has done what is just and right, and has been careful to observe all my statutes, he shall surely live. The soul who sins shall die. The son shall not suffer for the iniquity of the father, nor the father suffer for the iniquity of the son. The righteousness of the righteous shall be upon himself, and the wickedness of the wicked shall be upon himself. Deuteronomy 5:9 ESV You shall not bow down to them or serve them; for I the Lord your God am a jealous God, visiting the iniquity of the fathers on the children to the third and fourth generation of those who hate me, Exodus 20:1-26 ESV And God spoke all these words, saying, “I am the Lord your God, who brought you out of the land of Egypt, out of the house of slavery. “You shall have no other gods before me. “You shall not make for yourself a carved image, or any likeness of anything that is in heaven above, or that is in the earth beneath, or that is in the water under the earth. You shall not bow down to them or serve them, for I the Lord your God am a jealous God, visiting the iniquity of the fathers on the children to the third and the fourth generation of those who hate me, ... John 9:1-3 ESV As he passed by, he saw a man blind from birth. And his disciples asked him, “Rabbi, who sinned, this man or his parents, that he was born blind?” Jesus answered, “It was not that this man sinned, or his parents, but that the works of God might be displayed in him. Exodus 20:5 ESV You shall not bow down to them or serve them, for I the Lord your God am a jealous God, visiting the iniquity of the fathers on the children to the third and the fourth generation of those who hate me, Jeremiah 31:29-34 ESV In those days they shall no longer say: “‘The fathers have eaten sour grapes, and the children's teeth are set on edge.’ But everyone shall die for his own sin. Each man who eats sour grapes, his teeth shall be set on edge. “Behold, the days are coming, declares the Lord, when I will make a new covenant with the house of Israel and the house of Judah, not like the covenant that I made with their fathers on the day when I took them by the hand to bring them out of the land of Egypt, my covenant that they broke, though I was their husband, declares the Lord. But this is the covenant that I will make with the house of Israel after those days, declares the Lord: I will put my law within them, and I will write it on their hearts. And I will be their God, and they shall be my people. ... 1 John 5:18 ESV We know that everyone who has been born of God does not keep on sinning, but he who was born of God protects him, and the evil one does not touch him. Romans 12:19 ESV Beloved, never avenge yourselves, but leave it to the wrath of God, for it is written, “Vengeance is mine, I will repay, says the Lord.” Matthew 18:21-22 ESV Then Peter came up and said to him, “Lord, how often will my brother sin against me, and I forgive him? As many as seven times?” Jesus said to him, “I do not say to you seven times, but seventy times seven. Mark 11:25 ESV And whenever you stand praying, forgive, if you have anything against anyone, so that your Father also who is in heaven may forgive you your trespasses.” Titus 3:5 ESV He saved us, not because of works done by us in righteousness, but according to his own mercy, by the washing of regeneration and renewal of the Holy Spirit, Psalm 51:5 ESV Behold, I was brought forth in iniquity, and in sin did my mother conceive me. 2 Corinthians 5:17 ESV Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation. The old has passed away; behold, the new has come. Acts 16:31 ESV And they said, “Believe in the Lord Jesus, and you will be saved, you and your household.” Colossians 1:13 ESV He has delivered us from the domain of darkness and transferred us to the kingdom of his beloved Son, Job 1:1-22 ESV There was a man in the land of Uz whose name was Job, and that man was blameless and upright, one who feared God and turned away from evil. There were born to him seven sons and three daughters. He possessed 7,000 sheep, 3,000 camels, 500 yoke of oxen, and 500 female donkeys, and very many servants, so that this man was the greatest of all the people of the east. His sons used to go and hold a feast in the house of each one on his day, and they would send and invite their three sisters to eat and drink with them. And when the days of the feast had run their course, Job would send and consecrate them, and he would rise early in the morning and offer burnt offerings according to the number of them all. For Job said, “It may be that my children have sinned, and cursed God in their hearts.” Thus Job did continually. ... Mark 16:16 ESV Whoever believes and is baptized will be saved, but whoever does not believe will be condemned. Romans 6:23 ESV For the wages of sin is death, but the free gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord. John 3:16-17 ESV “For God so loved the world, that he gave his only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life. For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but in order that the world might be saved through him. Helpful Not Helpful Mark 3:28-29 ESV “Truly, I say to you, all sins will be forgiven the children of man, and whatever blasphemies they utter, but whoever blasphemes against the Holy Spirit never has forgiveness, but is guilty of an eternal sin”— Isaiah 54:17 ESV No weapon that is fashioned against you shall succeed, and you shall confute every tongue that rises against you in judgment. This is the heritage of the servants of the Lord and their vindication from me, declares the Lord.” THE ANSWER IS YES IF YOU AREN'T IN CHRIST. |
