No confusion in the camp of lawyers too. It's just that WES is trying to confuse us.LOL
Newmum0615:
Engineering graduates, please gather here for a selfie.
There is no confusion in our camp o. We humbly just take our B.Eng and B.Tech and goan get PGD or master's jeje to give to WES. We can't shout. grin

Na wa. All these ITA when de waste like this.
TEECANN:
ITA cut-off was 462. It's there, some pages back.
It will end in praise IJN!
TravelRe: Canadian Express Entry/Federal Skilled Workers Program- Connect Here Part 4 by ysteph: 4:24pm On Jun 21, 2018
Ok sir.
weckl:
I confirmed from Guys that got PPR that their WES evaluated as Bachelor degree(LLB) was treated as a professional degree by IRCC when selected in their profile.
It may sound absurd as i said but that is the reality.
TravelRe: Canadian Express Entry/Federal Skilled Workers Program- Connect Here Part 4 by ysteph: 4:16pm On Jun 21, 2018
That is it except the CRS cut of that day is below 422.
TEECANN:
@ifeago, from that excerpt of the GCMS note of your friend, I think issa automatic refusal. something ooo.. Am I right?
CRS at ITA=462
Recalculated CRS post-AOR by CIO= 422
It will end in praise IJN!
TravelRe: Canadian Express Entry/Federal Skilled Workers Program- Connect Here Part 4 by ysteph: 4:13pm On Jun 21, 2018
What is the matter sef?
weckl:
Verify the name of the degree in question as referred in the GCMS notes.
TravelRe: Canadian Express Entry/Federal Skilled Workers Program- Connect Here Part 4 by ysteph: 4:11pm On Jun 21, 2018
Thanks for sharing. Awon argumentators will rest now.
IFEAGO:
Hey, good to know you're being very careful in taking a final decision on this. Please take a close look at excerpts from GCMS notes a friend ordered. This might just be the case if you proceed with your WES evaluation.
TravelRe: Canadian Express Entry/Federal Skilled Workers Program- Connect Here Part 4 by ysteph: 4:09pm On Jun 21, 2018
weckl you see IFEAGO's post?
IFEAGO:

TravelRe: Canadian Express Entry/Federal Skilled Workers Program- Connect Here Part 4 by ysteph: 4:07pm On Jun 21, 2018
weckl abeg you de confuse us abeg. This your point is totally false. Let this matter rest.
weckl:
Definitely, but that is not the point am making. The point is if only LLB is accessed by WES IRCC deems it as a professional degree if selected but if included with a BL certificate for WES evaluation, IRCC deems it as 2 or more certifcate. This has been testified by diff guys that got PPR.As i said it may sound absurd but that is what it is.
TravelRe: Canadian Express Entry/Federal Skilled Workers Program- Connect Here Part 4 by ysteph: 4:01pm On Jun 21, 2018
Exactly. So it applies to gsade.
WES evaluated as Bachelors but she chose Professional Degree so IRCC will treat it as bachelors.
weckl:
His wife is a lawyer and her BL certificate was included for evaluation and they selected professional degree in their profile but IRCC deemed it as 2 or more certificate.
TravelRe: Canadian Express Entry/Federal Skilled Workers Program- Connect Here Part 4 by ysteph: 3:02pm On Jun 21, 2018
With IQAS you have to take an overdose of patience.
12 weeks or thereabout.
gsade:
Truly, glad. I did not see Iphie 25's post until around 2am. I cannot even remember why I was awake that long on a weekday. I just paid for IQAS immediately and I have been scouring the internet for information on the WES evaluation and any useful actual experience on it. You I found out that Iphie 25's GCMS notes shows that it was her WES and not her IQAS that was recognised by the VO as professional degree. But the difference for Iphie 25 is that her WES report had a comment saying that her the bachelors (four years) is a "first professional degree requires to practise law in Nigeria". So her experience did not seem conclusive because she had that little bit of comment on her report which was not in the canadian equivalency portion. The GCMS notes from CanadianWasp's friend(s) may truly resolve it.
TravelRe: Canadian Express Entry/Federal Skilled Workers Program- Connect Here Part 4 by ysteph: 3:01pm On Jun 21, 2018
Is he the lawyer abi his wife? Maybe i am mixing up the posts.
Anyway, from what i understand, two or more certificate cannot amount to professional degree. If you add your BL if your ECA does not say Professional Degree then it is not professional degree.
weckl:
I followed Koonlay post and engaged him at some point and he confirmed that he included his law school certificate. You can verify this from the thread.
TravelRe: Canadian Express Entry/Federal Skilled Workers Program- Connect Here Part 4 by ysteph: 2:51pm On Jun 21, 2018
weckl this is a new angle to this matter. If it is evaluated as two or more certificates it is two or more certificates. It cannot be professional degree. Koonlay's post was clear.
weckl:
From koonlay post, he evaluated both his LLB & law school certificate and the outcome from WES was bachelor degree and one year postgraduate diploma which is equivalent to 2 or more certificate on the EE. Those that i heard got PPR evaluated only their LLB from WES and chose professional degree. It may sound absurd but that is what it is.
TravelRe: Canadian Express Entry/Federal Skilled Workers Program- Connect Here Part 4 by ysteph: 2:49pm On Jun 21, 2018
Okay. Glad you found this thread.
It will surely end in praise.
gsade:
Thanks Ysteph. I understand you perfectly. In any event, I did not know there was a difference between WES and IQAS evaluations until I stumbled on Iphie 25 chats some few weeks ago on LLB evaluation on WES. In fact, just joined Nairaland today finally as a result of that post. I had been under the impression that evaluation of LLB na just evaluation in so far as the degree certificate says bachelors of law, you know. Thanks. I doubt if I can bet on luck when It may be seen as misrep and I lose my application fee. Just that IQAS is slow sha. I have already applied to IQAS. All documents from me and my Uni have been delivered to IQAS. Guess, I just hope for the best in the next two months.

I can assure you that, those who used WES but claimed professional degree were lucky because it didn't affect their CRS score.
Read Koonlay's post on this thread. He posted sometime last week.
Already you've said if you didn't use professional degree you won't have received ITA. That, to me, sounds like misrepresentation.
If your ECA says bachelors degree equivalence then its bachelors degree equivalence.
The ECA is not for fun.
The ultimate decision is yours to make in the end. You may be lucky.
gsade:
Hello CanadianWasp, I just sent you a private e-mail. I will like to reach out to you by direct e-mail. I am kinda in a dilemma with WES and IQAS. I have ITA already but with a WES evaluation. I selected professional degree in my EE profile and got ITA on that basis. Without that, I would not have made the ITA cut-off point. Now, my deadline is July 25, 2018. Trying to decide if I should reject this ITA pending IQAS which can be a very long process depending on a lot of variables. I was wondering if I can learn more about your colleague/friend who used WES evaluation of LLB as bachelors and still got PR. It will really help me in reaching a firm and final decision.

I have been to SA numerous times in the past... Bia, how did you enter SA without passing through immigration desk for stamping? Was it a private jet you used cos as far as i know, uou would have disembarked from the plane with your fellow passengers and the exit leads straight to immigration desk

But why? Who did we offend in this country?
This is obvviously beyond bad leaders.
wizean:
From the look of things, the list certainly got filled before 7am yesterday. It's a serious shithole..... The drama wasn't any different from what we suffer with Immigration for passport and our universities for transcript.
TravelRe: Canadian Express Entry/Federal Skilled Workers Program- Connect Here Part 4 by ysteph: 7:26am On Jun 21, 2018
What if 40 persons had come before 6am? Who will they turn back?
As all things Nigeria, we must struggle to get everything done. Even with your money you will beg to get medical test done?
Thank God you finally did your medicals. At least, it is a matter of months you'll be out of this shithole.
wizean:
Morning everyone,
And so it happened that I travelled down with my family to children's practice Lagos yesterday for my medicals. Got in around 8.40am and approached the receptionist on how to go about my medicals. I was only fortunate because of my 2weeks old baby. I don't know if this has been the situation all along in children's practice or there is just a sudden surge in Canadian PR medical clients. Whatever the situation is, this is just to give someone an handy info, lest you get disappointed when you get there.
TravelRe: Canadian Express Entry/Federal Skilled Workers Program- Connect Here Part 4 by ysteph: 6:45am On Jun 21, 2018
If you entered SA by air, i am wondering how you were not stamped in.
However, if there is a way to check your entry and exit from SA electronically, just like the I94 electronic system the US uses, then dont be worried about physical stamp.
In the alternative, if you have your boarding pass to SA, use it.
Again, the way you've explained it to us here you can explain it in a LOE.
sunkyawz:
Good morning my people, please I have a concern regards my travel history.
I travelled to South Africa on a company sponsored training. Being my first time of travelling out of Nigeria I didn't know I had to report at the immigration desk in South Africa so my international passport was not stamped at the point of entry.
When I was leaving, I was stamped out. The South African immigration raised hell when I was leaving their country. The Nigerian stamp is complete (2).

The issue now is that I have just one stamp for South Africa instead of two. Do you think the VO will raise an issue on the stamp? I am an accompanying spouse

I didn't use WES, but I believe I've seen it mentioned countless times on the thread that you can use statement of result in lieu of the certificate
