Definitely, her departure if she accepts to leave will be greatly felt. Her inputs are yet to be felt by majority of the populace but her absence will no doubt be a big blow to GEJ's 'transformation agenda'. Nigeria is a shark & crocodile infested water: what is the hope of the ordinary fish?

abubello: By some accounts abuja was named after the first king Abubakar thus:

The land now called Abuja was originally the south-western part of the ancient Habe (Hausa) kingdom of Zazzau (Zaria). It was populated for centuries by several semi-independent tribes. The largest of the tribes was Gbagyi (Gwari), followed by the Koro and a few other smaller tribes. In early 1800s when Zaria fell to Fulani invaders, Muhammed Makau, fled south with some followers and his brothers- Abu Ja and Kwaka. Abu Ja succeeded Makau in 1825.

The full name of the king was Abubakar; Abu was his nickname. By some accounts his fair complexion earned him the nickname “Ja” which means “red” or “fair-skinned” in Hausa. He became known as “Abu-Ja” meaning Abu the red” or “Abubakar the fair one “other sources say that the “Ja” is a shortened form of Ishaku Jatau, his father’s name. King Abubakar founded the kingdom of Abuja

As for Suleja

"The Emirate (of Abuja) was then asked to give up Abuja for the Federal Capital Territory. Again the council was divided. In the end, they agreed believing that the name of the emirate would become famous throughout the world. The previous town of Abuja was renamed Suleja after the then Emir Suleiman Barau and “Ja” the last syllable of the first emir’s name.

Surprised to hear that Abuja was part of the ancient Zazzau emirate. Who succeeded him(Abubakar)? Does it mean that Gbagyi ppl didn't have kings before the nineteenth century? Was the present Abuja a kingdom those days? Who says they were semi-independent? Politics at work. shocked

Who has heard or seen a sensible govt. negotiate with a terrorist group? However, even if Jonathan should compromise by negotiating & granting amnesty to them, the core north will NOT be satisfied. Mark my words. They will come up with more sinister things.
Gradually, many southerners would know why GEJ is yet to declare full military operation in the most endemic parts of the north. When he does (if only he will), many hidden things about the nigerian army will be exposed(ask plateau guys). Only misinformed southerners insult GEJ while northern christians are looking up to him with respect. The core north want us to condemn & reject our own to our detriment.
BTW, How many policemen have been killed so far? How many police stations have been bombed so far; have they been rebuilt? Who will police those areas in the event of any attacks on innocent ppl living there? The only thing that still remains 'united' in nigeria today is the armed forces. Eventually they will split courtesy BH's agenda & activities. We are watching.

The easiest ways to end the crisis are:
1. Tell the hausa/fulani to stop their jihadistic plans & to back that up by equipping the indigenes of plateau state & other middlebelters with arms to defend themselves against any attack incase.
2. The indigenes should concede their lands to the hausa/fulani, accept islam & be ruled over.
3. Take the army away and don't let them intervene in the ensuing crises.
Any of this will help end the perennial mayhem. I would subscribe to 1 & 3 only. coolThe easiest ways to end the crisis are:

Politics › Re: "All Tribes Are Guilty In Destroying Nigeria - Stop Blaming Northerners" by Yujin(m): 3:03pm On Mar 15, 2012
Darui: I disagree with most of the write-up. There is corruption everywhere in the world but some countries are way advanced than others. Why? It is singularity of purpose. These countries possesses the right mentality. The mentality of progress, development, human dignity, national pride and individuals strive to be remembered in history. They don't bother with shiiit like tribalism. Most of them are single ethnic countries. When they are not, they find ways of living in harmony without fear of one ethnic group dominating the other.
But here, the Northern part has refused to educate their people,to liberate them from the shackles of ignorance. All they want is the blind pursuit of power, for power sake. Look at our history, both southerners and northerners helped ruin it but it is glaringly obvious that the most damage was done by northern leaders. They are comfortable living like this. Their leaders believe in nigeria's money, instead of investing it here, they fly out and spend like the world is ending.
In short, the mentality of the northern leaders is deficient. They know Nigeria cannot last,so they milk it as fast as possible. They just do not care about the suffering northern populace. All they want is power to keep the nigerian people and her potential in perpetual bondage
You are on spot. @topic, Tell me one core northern politician that was prosecuted for corruption prior to this democratic era or even as at present and I will agree with you. The average core northerner believes nigeria belongs to them; others are servants to be used & dumped at will. Have you heard of 'born to rule' mentality before? I tell you frankly that most of the corrupt politicians from other regions did join them because they felt that the core northerners cannot be challenged hence, they prefer to gather their own while they can. A saying goes like this: where a crime is not punished it gradually becomes a norm. I know you will doubt me but remember this: Nigeria WILL NEVER get better with this present set-up. Imagine in this 21st century cattles & their owners are empowered by the army to enter and graze anywhere(towns, along rail lines & airports causing accidents, farmyards destroying farmers source of livelihood etc) instead for laws to be enacted confining them to ranches. As long as coup plotters(pioneers of corruption) who are basically from the north are not tried & jailed, corruption CANNOT be reduced talk more of wiping off.
@OP, the core northerners do not share thesame vision of a great nigeria with different ppls, culture, religion etc. as you. Presently, an undercover jihad is going on & the army is paying a blind eye. Fulanis are extending down south claiming lands, killing the owners. When the owners speak up, they are killed and if they fight back, soldiers would be despatched against the landowners. Pls, go and research on these personalities; Sir Ahmadu Bello, Hassan Katsina, Murtala Mohammed, Bukar Sukar Dimka, Gideon Orkar, IBB, Sani Abacha. I believe your views will change.

@OP, maclatunji's advice is quite insightful & more subscribable. However, the terms of engagement should be clearly spelt out. For instance,
1. Are you to work purely as an employee or a sort of arrangement can be put up?
2. How long does he expect you to work with him since his son(your brother in-law) will soon grow up to take over & you want to build your own family on a firm footing?
Honestly, it is not going to be easy because your ego is at stake(your life is open to your in-laws) but if a good bargain is struck you will live to enjoy it. I wish you the best.

bitweezy: @malboro who do you think you can delude? i bet almajiris are also xtians. the issue of insecurity can be traced to abandoned children in the north.

A lot of those stories he quoted are counter stories except for the last one for Gombe who was caught with rifles and no single bomb as he qouted. People are trying to protect themselves.

like i mentioned earlier Malboro1 qoutes is the new tacticcs employed in the north to creste grey areas to geniune cases and the counter stories are false and cannot be verified.

Let me give you an example: Some xtians were attacked and killed in Deeper Life Church Gombe. The counter story was created that an igbo man who owed the assailants (fellow igbos) money ran into their church and the killers now killed worshippers and the igbo man.

To show that the story is shuddy the same story was peddled for the adamawa killings. Ask yourself would an igbo man kill someone owing him money without getting paid back.
You are very right. This is the propaganda that they are peddling to create confusion among christians but it has TOTALLY FAILED. They will come up with funny stuffs but will still fail woefully because their time is up. We are watching.

browncool: Has anyone tried to Google the word Taqqiya? This is what I found below after reading through.
Islamic Tactics of Taqqiya teaches Muslims to practise Deception , Fraud & Double Standards to spread Islam :-

Whatever US may do to help Muslims and Arabs , they will always blame America for their problems.

Muslims always use double standards to cheat Non Muslims.

Even Koran Teaches the Islamic Tactics of Taqqiya which allows Muslims to use deception to spread Islam.

Oil Rich Gulf Muslim countries are spreading their money on buying latest Military hardware , F-16 , Machine guns , War ships and off course secret program to build nuclear weapons.

This enormous amount of money and resources could be used to resettle " so called Palestinian Muslim Brethren " in the empty lands of Sinai desert ( Egypt) or in Rub al Khali area of Saudi Arabia .

Arabs will pay and reward to families of suicide bombers but they are not willing to invest in modern & career oriented education in middle east. and the education which is provided by Saudi Funded Wahhabi Schools and seminaries will only help Muslim children to become Suicide Bombers , Terrorists , Murderers or Clerics.

Wahhabi Islam / Militant Islam / Jihadist Islam / Radical Islam is infact mainstream Islam which is practiced or at least supported by 99 % of Muslims in the world. so Islam is Islam and its dangerous , there is no sense in fooling ourselves by classifying Islam into categories.

A Time will come when West ( or in fact rest of the world ) will have to collide with Islam head on.

There will be no more options left .

Remember the fact that Islam and Freedom cannot coexist peacefully.

Islam is biggest threat to humanity and its more dangerous than Hitler led Nazi Germany or Stalin led Soviet Union.

We have to realize and prepare to fight and win the long war against Islam.

@ndu_chucks, innocent blood is wailing over the north that is why boko haram kill mostly their own ppl. You cannot stop it; abandon the damn religion & seek God's forgiveness, only then shall you escape. It is all deceit saying boko haram is a nigerian thing, not just a northern thing. Your people claim mastery of politics & propaganda but now it won't work anymore because the end of their empire is near. Stop deceptively calling on nigerians to come together & fight bh as though bh is a group of unknown ppl.
@topic, what the media is saying is simply 'southerners prepare for attacks from the core north under the guise of boko haram'. Who do you think will house & help co-ordinate the imminent attacks of these jihadists if not the ones already residing there? My advise to southerners is 'be vigilant; study the movement of abokis around you including the items they bring to their homes & mosques and finally pray that God should expose their sponsors, plans & strategies. Somebody once started a thread with the interview of an ex-(jihadist)boko haram member where he revealed some relevant info. but many southerners assumed it a fable tale. Prevention is better than cure.

Trying to fix this failure is an exercise in futility. I bet you guys are just average jejune-minded southerners. Pls, do more research on the northern elites. Your discovery will shock you. They milk the empire with reckless abandon and plough nothing back for the benefit of its citizens. They own oil wells & blocks but their region is poverty-stricken while the poor ones kill innocent people at the slightest provocation eg. maitatsine riots, ethno-religious riots, terrorism(boko haram), ethnic cleansing of the middlebelt tribes etc. Though ceteris paribus I would wish them well but not at me & my pples expense.
Politics › Re: Sovereign National Conference: North Set For Showdown by Yujin(m): 10:30pm On Mar 08, 2012
True federalism as demanded by basically the south will NEVER hold as long as the core north is concerned. The middlebelt states do not have a problem with it but those lazy parasites will not want it to be; that is why IBB want the status quo to remain even if millions of nigerians will be sacrificed again. SNC though a right step in the right direction will NOT solve the problem rather, it will expose many hidden things of the core north & end up with a tenser polity. Divided we stand to be united under ECOWAS. This is the sad but only truth.
Politics › Re: Sovereign National Conference: North Set For Showdown by Yujin(m): 10:01pm On Mar 08, 2012
@gidimonsta, your projection for the emerging nations is totally fallacious. These nations stand a better chance of developing than the present hell filled with hatred, suspicion, jealousy, inferiority/superiority complex, islamization agendum etc. Open your eyes. Gov. Theodore Orji's case is a tip on the iceberg for any criminally minded politician in Biafra. Biafra shall rival many european nations in development. Oodua republic shall also help redeem the dignity of the black man. For the others, I don't know.
I saw it coming. I only pray that our politicians will for once say and stand by the truth to avoid an unnecessary war. THIS EMPIRE MUST BE BALKANIZED IF WE MUST LIVE. The era of parasitism is over. Why don't these northern governors develop their solid minerals sector that is in their domain but rather prefer to spill blood for the deep sea oil resources? Laziness(parasitism) or deliberate provocation(whatever we want we can get; go and die for all we care)? May the time come, I can barely wait.

Today, a world figure is being committed to the warm bosom of mother earth. Today, Africa's most controversial-cum prophetic patriot is being crowned in the land of the spirits to aid the lovers of freedom, justice & equity from that realm. Today, like Wycliff Jean sang for Diallo, 'ten thousand chariots with no riders, they're on their way to', this time not America but this parasitic wedlock of (Lord)Lugard from Albion -Nigeria, to torment the advocates of oppression, mediocrity, greed etc. Today, Eze-Igbo Gburugburu, Dim Chukwuemeka Odumegwu Ojukwu is being buried (shakes head & lifts up face to the sky).
Odogwu, Odogwu, Dikedioranma-jee nke oma.
It is not a coindence, fate did bestow this on him. His name says it all.
Chukwuemeka = God has done so well
Odumegwu = Fearless lion
Oji-Ukwu = Possessor of greatness.
Born with a diamond spoon, he choose to eat with those who had no spoons.
His foresight earned him a friend in the greap writer, Frederick Forsyth.
Like the biblical Moses, his name has been written the SUN.

Presently, the (seeming) weakest link in the south are the Yorubas. The success of the fulanis in Ilorin is giving them high hopes such that they contemplated striking the Yorubas further so as to break them thereby having easy access down south. Recently, they have stepped up this campaign while many Yorubas are here attacking Igbos. Westerners, wake up & wipe them off or else more of this will occur. They cannot try this nonesense in the East. Their cows will be slaughtered & shared after they have been decimated. The proposed union of the Igbos & Yorubas shall be beneficial to all albeit it is more to the Yorubas since this will put a halt to the fulani invasion of the west. This is part of their great plan. Why is the cashless policy by SLS starting up in Lagos alone and not Kano inclusive; since both are highly populated & are large commercial centres? Open your eyes. Our problem is not down south BUT UP NORTH. A stitch in time saves nine.

@PStylish, you hit the bull's eye again.
@Okija juju, hating the true Igbos(Biafrans) is suicidal if indeed you are Igbo. I am not interested in knowing where you are from just as it is Ok for hating Ojukwu(you are entitled to you own opinion). However, if you are a lover of truth, justice & equity, you will withdraw most of your earlier posts directed against innocent Igbos.
During the war, the middlebelters gave their all to 'crush' the 'evil secessionist Igbos' but today, non of them sleep with their two eyes close. Why is it so? Make some research. Do you know why B.S Dimka & Gideon Orkar carried coup against core northerners? This is just a hint.
@topic, Igbo & Yoruba union is possible albeit some issues must be settled first. The Yorubas must banish the fear they have of the Igbos as the Igbos are not expansionists as they were originally thought. Trace Igbo history, there is no where it is mentioned that they conquered & dominated any tribe- no matter how small. This is a FACT though warriors abound all over Igboland, they were contented with their unique identities. I challenge any SS or Midbelters to refute my claims pre-colonisation of nigeria. Igbos that speak of hate 4 the yorubas are simply out of the pains they passed through may be/not necessarily for the betrayals but for Awolowo's evil food blockade strategy and worst of all seizure of their monies in the bank for 20pounds. What a cruel human being!
Understandably, many Yorubas mistook entering Ore enroute Lagos-the then seat of power, to end the war fast. Why was Banjo( a Yoruba) asked to lead this expedition? Pls, let us be rational. No doubt, both ethnic groups are among the most gifted Africans and their collaboration will give the black race many many things to be proud of. I salute all the progressives here.

The battle has just began. The northern representatives will mount all the pressures they can muster hoping that GEJ will yield. They are good in attacking since the south seems to be docile. The best approach to kill this folly/greed is not to be defensive as they expect the south to do but to ignore them(their request) & make your own(ask for resource control). Indeed, the polity will be heated up which will lead us to SNC otherwise WAR breaks out. Remember that SLS was the first to mention this so called lopsided allocation to justify BH. ACF seconded & now northern reps. members want to use their lopsided regional advantage to effect it. It is part of the grand plan. Southern reps. pls, don't try to defend it rather, attack back with resource control. Employ whatever means available to you. Offoaro's article in today's Sun Newspaper gives a great insight to the connection between ACF & Boko Haram. The sultan recently revealed that BH's activities would soon cease and that nigerians are looking forward to. That may happen but mark my words; ATTACKS on CHRISTIANS & their CHURCHES in northern Nigeria will NEVER CEASE. A snake does not give birth to short things.

@SNCOQ3- may the good Lord bless you.
I am a Christian and I'm proud of it. It is a fact that our traditional African religions basically involves the worship of (demonics)spirits through the use of tangible things i.e the idols. The sophistry & beauty of those idols sincerely is captivating if you are a lover of the arts & it shows the ingenuity of our ancestors and I must say I am impressed by them. Some of these artefacts are for religious purposes while others are for cultural purposes. I strongly advocate for the elimination of religious based ones because they serve as contact points for those demonic spirits to remain relevant in our lives thereby distracting us from the true worship of God. But the cultural ones should be incorporated into our present ways of life to serve as the link between our past & present. I think this is what many of the evangelists do although some do not discriminate. If it hurts too much seeing the destruction of the devil's masts(idols), you could seek the promulgation of a law requesting the withdrawal of all idols to the state museums where the lovers of these dangerous item could carter for them just like wild animals are kept in the zoo for the safety of humans as well as for preservation. Yes, orthodox churches tolerated them depending on the vision & power available to the servant of God in that vicinity on the one hand & the other on the items in question. The Igbo traditional musical instruments were named fetish items by the white missionaries & were not allowed for use in the church those days. That later changed when indigenous priests came in as they saw no harm in those instruments. This is what I advocate.
That large item with decorations in Achina is also found in my hometown. It is called Ikoro/Ikolo. I counted 6pcs within my town (there may be more). In the course of my investigations, I found out it was use for sending signal those days-not for anything fetish. One of the largest ones is located in our market. Great crusades/revivals have been held even by Evang. Uma Ukpai without anybody torching it because it is purely cultural. Give the demonic ones to the whites if you don't want them destroyed because they are destroying of youths. Have you had of 'Okoro eto'?
