Since 1967 when the idiotic southerners joined force to fight Ndigbo and Biafrans, the northern elites have regarded the southerners as fools and nobodies.
I wonder the type of humans we have in southern Nigeria. Despite all the way the fulanis are treating them, just accuse an Igbo of any crime and you'll see how they quickly forget their losses from the fulanis and rather focus on Ndigbo even when the said individual might be acting alone. I wonder if it is witchcraft at play or if it's a mental problem.
Fulanis have killed scores of people from all regions in Nigeria. They've threatened all regions to surrender their ancestral lands or else face unrelentless attacks but yet no backlash has been visited on them. They've sacked almost all the ethnic groups from core federal positions and replaced them with their own people yet same southerners will still cling to their oppressors. Buhari publicly threatened bloodshed before the 2011 election and when he failed, youth corpers all southerners were slain on national assignment. He wasn't even arrested nor interrogated. Rather, he was rewarded four years later by the same southerners to become a president. How then do you expect such a man to view the southerners? Of course he'll have no iota of regard for them. Today, the organisers of the end SARS protests are being witchhunted and yet politicians from the South remain quiet. Tell me; if these politicians can't speak for the organisers of a peaceful protest, is it when the youths from the South go it violently that they will stand in their defence? Let the children of the politicians see how much of a waste their parents are for the preservation of the South and not cry foul when the youths demand of them their own pound of flesh.

Arabic is a language
I am a Christian and I studied Arabic both in my secondary and a little bit of it in my University days.

If not that religion has divided us so much in this Country this call to remove this Arabic from the Naira wouldn't have been necessary.
Liars are very disgusting people. How many people from Nigeria are fluent in Arabic language inside Nigeria? Arabic is not a tribal or even regional language, so why should it be on a supposed secular national currency?

when will Nigerians understand that even the Arabians can't read Ajami.

just like how the native English speakers can read nor understand Yoruba words like "Labalaba" or Igbo words eg "Biko" despite writing them in Roman script.

Ajami is Hausa in Arabic style , it's the first writing style in Nigeria and it has been in existence and begin used in the northern part of Nigeria before our colonial master introduced us to western education and writing in Roman script. and it has nothing to do with religion. even the Roman script was introduced to us by Christian missionaries and we adopted it to be our official writing style. it doesn't mean anything to feel hostile about.

the moment we stop feeling insecure about everything is the day I'm looking forward to , coz it's the day we start moving forward.
Ajami is an extinct script unused today even in Hausa states. Why then is it still there? What about the one in the Nigerian Army emblem? What is it doing there? You people can only deceive the naive.

As long as the south continue to appear only defensive, the fulani elites will continue to push forward their agenda. Until the south take a bold step and insist on the outcome before any discussion is done, the fulanis will never stop. None of you have asked yourself why the Fulani controlled Nigerian Army has failed to appear in troubled spots there in the north West but are quick to attack peaceful villages in the south. Why can't southerners reason out simple things? None of the northern politicians condemn the so called bandits but down South, our politicians foolishly go and invite the fulani soldiers to come kill there own people. Where's our education?

It is the foolish ones like you that is causing enough enemies for igbos. I was born and brought up in delta state, school in enugu, have a lot great friends from who sure don't sound like. While you read history and married it with petty sentiment, we read and learn to shape the future. I still stand by what I wrote, my dad is still alive and hold the mistrust till today. And yes igbos did not go about killing people but sure made them feel like a conquered people. And the situation got worse when they were losing the battle so they felt betrayed by the people
You still sound very foolish if you don't know. I've been cautious when relating to others... A lot of people know me here on nairaland. I'll not allow the false hood you're trying to push go unattended hence I asked you for any proof that Ojukwu unilaterally declared Biafra which you've failed to produce. You're not the only one who schooled in the SE and interacted with the people there to know that Igbos don't necessarily sound harsh unless they have reasons to do so. I can mention lots of minority ethnic groups from the SS who once hated Igbos due to the false or exaggerated stories they were told but today have publicly retraced their steps. I'm not one of those that will respond defensively when you want to regurgitate those false narratives because I've researched deep enough to understand the problem of those days. So you see, in order for us to forge ahead, we must endeavour not to repeat the mistakes of the past by coming clean with any such old accusations. No one is begging anyone in the present to agree to what common sense demands. If anyone feels too important, he'll left to his own devices.
The Willinks Commission was set up to look into those false accusations but it found those accusations baseless. You must stop repeating those mistakes. As for the backlash some Biafran soldiers might have visited on some groups, it can be traced mostly to those who they felt betrayed Biafra. That's not sufficient to condemn a whole nation of people with whom you've shared centuries together without ever fearing for your lives. Perhaps, if you were Igbo you'll understand my point of view. Weren't their Ijaws and other ethnic groups alongside the Igbos in the Biafran army? If those people that were punished for allegedly betraying the Biafran cause didn't understand it, the soldiers felt they were dealing with their own people and not a 'conquered' people like you think. Were some Biafran soldiers not executed for sabotaging the effort of the war? It's unfortunate that some people misinterpreted it to mean attempt at conquering them. We've lived, intermarried and developed side by side but some still harbour some form of fear which is unfounded and it pushed them into falling in the hands of those that will fully slaughtered them. The ball is in your court at present. How you serve it is how it will be returned.

You think once you mentioned eastern region it means the people of the lower Niger was included. It is like buhari appointing northerners to occupy juicy position and any decision taken is concluded as everybody's decision. I will repeat the people of the present Niger delta were not included, come to the south and let those who were alive during the war tell you what they went through in hand of people.
You're still suffering the hangover of the falsehood that was fed you. Why not simple refute my claims on Ojukwu's declaration by providing proofs to the contrary? The present time were in is beyond this back and forth you're promoting. Wake up and smell the coffee... a serious shake down is about to happen in Nigeria and yet you're bickering over Igbos who have never been your enemy. Can you name just one popular minority in the SS killed by any Igbo man? If you can't, it then shows how foolish you are.
At present, we're preparing to face the terrorists from the sahel... after we're done you and those like you will be free to vote and stay in your country. No one is interested in staying will people who are suspicious of them.

If so, you then sound so disappointingly ignorant to know that Ojukwu did not unilaterally declare Biafra. Lagos state is landlocked and there is limit to the number of people a city can accommodate most especially when there is no space or land for expansion. Unlike Kano state where the people expand as much as they want. People and industries have been leaving Lagos state for Ogun state for many years.
Secondly, you may want to look at how culture and religion affect the population of Lagos and Kano states. One man one wife in Lagos state versus one man three or four wives in kano state. That's a fact that that no one can dispute. Do the mathematics for yourself.
People are moving into and relocating out of Lagos state everyday because it's already congested.
Religion doesn't affect Kano's population one bit. Infant mortality rate is higher in Kano than Lagos. You see humans don't multiply like insects even if they want to. Most of the time in history, immigration is the reason why most cities have a disproportionate swell in population. Did I hear you say Lagos state is landlocked? Lol. Do you know what you're saying? Go check the dictionary and return. Lagos State still has loads of undeveloped lands... It's just very expensive compared to nearby Ogun state. For industries, Lagos has three times more industries than Kano.
Listen very well, all the lies about the population of Kano is very ridiculous to every smart person who knows geography and a little of Nigeria's history. It's totally unprovable and indefensible.
Just look for another thing and discuss.

History is discussed so the current people can learn and avoid the mistakes of the past. Both Adaka Boro and Ken Saro Wiwa died in the hands of those they thought were their saviours from the Igbos they vilified despite having no proof of any killings Igbos conducted against them. We all in the old eastern region and the South entirely must learn from our mistakes. We must not let anything divide us until we break away from Nigeria. If we can't form a common ground say after few years, we can always go our separate ways in peace. Our constitution in the south plus the middlebelt must contain a clause for secession. Let's stay focussed on the task of breaking off the hold of the vampires from the sahel.

I created a thread on nairaland that sultan is not a king and since then no one could prove that he is truly a king

wasted Nigeria government trying to hype the sultan from his religious leadership to a traditional one
The Sultan of Sokoto doubles as both a king and a spiritual head. The first sultan was Uthman Ibn Hodio... other emirs get their staff of office from him. To show you his political side, there's no emir in Sokoto... it has always been the 'Sultan of Sokoto'.
Ordinarily, his jurisdiction as a fulani king and as a Islamic leader should stop at covering only the fulanis and the Hausas whose land he occupies but because the fulanis have no regard for other people, they started claiming him as the leader of all Muslims in Nigeria thereby demanding the loyalty of all Muslims from other ethnic groups. These ethnic groups will include even those from Southern Nigeria and the middlebelt despite them having never been subjugated by the fulanis. This is why they're doing all they can to make inroads among the Igbos so they automatically get the express loyalty of some Igbos to cause division of consensus among us.
I'm very interested in the agenda and outcome of the meeting. Who are the Ezes from Igboland that went for that meeting? We must know them and watch them closely. No sellout will be tolerated among us.

U see these places u mentioned, aside from Delta State which was purely a fight between 2 tribes for land the Igbos have always been targeted even when d matter no concern dem. The country sought independence from the colonial masters, Kano indigenes in d 50s rioted and targeted Igbos. An Hausa man stole a Yoruba man’s mandate, the Igbos were killed. A coup was done to liberate a Yoruba man whose mandate was stolen by a fellow Yoruba man with help from a Northerner, it was tagged an Igbo coup and Igbos were killed.

I’m all for unity but if an ailment is not properly diagnosed, then the treatment is just a waste of resources. We can’t be talking about unity when no one has ever been held to account for all the loss of lives and properties. Accountability is the first step in unity to forestall a repetition.
You can see his response. Clearly he's a fulani who cares not about the lives of others. All the Igbos his people have killed deserve death so long as Nigeria remains together he's happy.
The thread is not in any way aimed at promoting Ndigbo like he would want others to think. The aim is to beg Igbos to support the evil contraption. Chai... Why would any sane Igbo man want to stay in a country that has consistently treated his people badly? How much of our blood have been spilt to sustain Nigeria? What about the deprivation, molestation, oppression and outright marginalization? The way these people reason is very funny. For every 1 Hausa/fulani that speak Igbo there are 5000 Igbos that speak Hausa. What does it show? It shows that Igbos have invested towards building a united country. How have we been treated after all the effort?
The fact remains that Igbos are a very peaceful people.

Lol. Once upon a time old Kano and Lagos had very similar population and the same number of LGAs. By 1991, Jigawa state was created out of Kano and more lgas were also created inside the new Kano. Today the new Kano state has 44 lgas while Lagos still remains with 20lgas. Jigawa state today has 27 lgas and claim a population of over 5 million people. So, adding both states together old Kano state has 71 lgas with a population of about 25 million people cheesy cheesy despite the numerous ethnoreligious killings and emigration from there whereas Lagos has an estimated 20million and 20lgas only. Recall that immigration into Lagos is the highest in Nigeria and there has not been any cause for any mass emigration from there. So the claim of marginalization even during his time remains. We gave him our support as an ally and got mostly positions in government and not the required infrastructures and economic stimulating projects in our region. Of course we knew he's from a minority group who themselves have suffered neglect and it will be unfair to belabor him with the marginalization accusation. It will be unreasonable to start accusing a new king of marginalization just in his first few years of reigning. You're very foolish to call us emotional just for stating things the way they are. See how Nigeria is today. Most of those who lied, deceived and hoodwinked others to support the emergence of the Dracula of Daura are today crying in regret.
