First and foremost, I want to thank you for taking your time to write a very big story.
The following points indicates that you were not saying the truth. 1) it's only architect that can conceptualize the building structure. 2) you can't do a structural design without having a senior colleague to check it. 3) you failed to tell us your years of experience. 4) you failed to tell us the name of the estate you built. No of units, bungalow, duplex and so on.
With the little money I have made, I have opted investing in properties full time.
now like the topic implies,
which is cheaper?
Building a home from Scratch or Buying already built that matches your taste?
what are the pros and cons?
Building from scratch is far better. I can be of help in architectural drawings, structural drawings and construction supervision. You can reach out to me on +2348068890396.
simplexity: Firstly I will like to apologize for any errors made while typing, and I am seriously in need of ur advice and criticism.
My name is Stanley(not real names) married for 4years with two Lovely kids both female with d eldest at age 4. Trust me I cherish and love my family. I am a graduate while my wife dropout from the university cause of some money issues her single mother had while she was sick. After our first child I made sure she got admitted to a polytechnic and thankful she just rounded up her N.D all expenses paid by me, with high hopes of Getting admitted for her HND.
The problem started after our first child, my wife attitude towards sex changed totally, she would never let me touch her or play with her, calling her pet names will usually end in quarrel, I spoke with her her severally, pleaded and beg her most times but her attitude never changed, she made me feel like I met nothing to her, yet she will always fight with me whenever ever she suspects I have a girlfriend, fights with any female that comes close to me through calls or chats, she even went as far as beating up a lady that needed my help thinking I was dating her.
Fast forward to recently, her mom who is a single mother relocated to stay with us, and during her stay we had some misunderstanding about money issues, (note both me and wifey are gainfully employed in the ratio of 10:4, but 60% of wifey salary goes to her mom while she spends the rest 40% anyhow she likes) during d money issues a frd of hers came and told both of them that she see saw me flirting with a lady. And without hearing my own side of the coin my mother in-law rained curses on me , reported my to all her family members and left my house angrily, two days later my wife took our children and left my house while I was in d office, I called about her where about and she said she won't tell me and she said I will hear from her family soon, her mom called a family friend saying she will sue me.
It's been one week now and I don't know the whereabouts of my kids.
Should I report to the police or what? Note I have apologized to wife for the crime I didn't commit yet it seems they want a bigger pound of flesh.
Please kindly advise me caused am depressed and confused
Hi
NEVER I MEAN NEVER marry from a single mother without any reasonable meaning for being a single mother. Report the matter to the nearest police station immediately. There's a saying that says that ' marrying a bag lady is not as bad as marrying from a bad parents'
tonididdy: Hi NLanders and Engineers. Good evening.
This structure was built in December 2019. I noticed the room is always moisty. When the room windows and door is shut... The glass sweat from inside.
Now it's the roofing(decking), just this part of the decking.
The room is well ventilated but since no occupant the windows and doors are always shut.
Above the decking is completely tiled and two brand new water tanks are sitting untop.
What could this imply?
What you are seeing is as a result of do it yourself or poor supervision from non professional. Solutions 1) you have to velt the upper part of the slab. 2) Remove the tank permanently if the leaking continues 3) take someone that has knowledge of civil engineering or construction management to your house for proper investigation 3) always mix your cement mortar with waterproof chemicals next time and 4) Avoid placement of water tank between your slab. 5) find a way of creating roof drainage if it doesn't exist. Concrete is permiable in nature and can absord water at anytime any day.

What you are seeing is a result of do it yourself (DIY). next time try and consult a professional to handle your project to avoid lost of lives and property. Solutions 1) try and vet the upper part of your suspended slab where you have your water tank. Your tiles might not be treated with waterproof materials like cilikagel and the likes. Concrete is permiable and can absord water at any time. 2) if the leaking continues, you have to remove the water tank from the slab and create a stantion for it. 3) never put any water tank in between your structure in your subsequent constructions.
MichealKin50: My Fiancée Does This. What Does It Mean?
Good day all.
The lockdown has brought my fiancée and I more closer. She spends most of her time now in my place than hers. While staying with me, I one day carried her phone to make call I discovered she doesn't put password on her phone.
Just few days ago while she was sleeping, I used her phone to Google something online and something pushed me to open her Facebook app. When I open, I realized she deletes chats after conversation. I was looking for the messages I do sent her on Facebook and could not find any.
Samdeejay100: Protest started this morning in my area from angry youths that were not allowed to move out freely........
Those guys need to be arrested for burning of tyre on the tarred road. I don't blame them for going hungry because most of them live from hand to mouth.
naijadrivablog: We have heard a random man brag that he has hit 180km/hr when travelling from Abuja to Port Harcourt. On these bad roads? With no regard for safety and human life?
Mine is 120km/h on Port Harcourt - Umuahia Road (many years ago, the road is bad now). I was running late to a wedding.
What's the highest speed you have ever hit? Be it during car/bike race or expressway driving, tell us.

UNIQUEISRAEL: Dear friends, take your time and read my story, I pray you find Grace to stand through!
Recently, I had to take a step that I was 100% sure was godly and morally correct but It looked so foolish to several people, but with God on my side and with the encouragement of sincere believers, I'm strengthened!
It goes thus:
Sometimes December, 2016, I got enrolled in a national scheme of the Federal Government of Nigeria called N-POWER, it's a current and working scheme that was set up by this present government to ameliorate or ease the high level of unemployment in the Nigeria.
Fortunately, I got an admission in December, 2018 to further my studies in the University of Benin, and as part of the pact or agreement between the Federal Government of Nigeria and the volunteers of N-POWER, it's required of us to work full time, that is; for no reason must we get into any endeavour that will clash with the normal working hour at our Place of Primary Assignment (PPA).
Prior to taking my decision, I did a lot of consultations, told a lot of friends, both the matured and the 'flexible' and of course I got mixed responses.
Some said "leave the job and go to school, you'll need the money, it's a national cake!" Some said "put someone to impersonate you and leave the job for school!" Some said "bribe to Head Mistress and go to schoo!, she will cover you up, in case supervisors show up"
The above were the responses from 'caring' colleagues, seniors and associates of which very few said I should do the right thing.
The right thing actually is to resign the Job and go for my education, considering the fact that the job needs my full attention and my education in the university will also need me full-time, it's therefore obviously impossible to meet the need coming from both angles simultaneously.
So I wrote a letter of resignation to that respect some weeks ago, upon which I got a confirmation from N-POWER website yesterday that I have been successfully resigned from the program!
Due to my preparation for school, I had to leave the town and stop working at my PPA since early February.
Some people called me later to inform me against their previous counsel that I had really taken the right step, some also told me that it was indeed a tough step to take considering the economic situation in the country but they prayed and encouraged me that God will see me through!
LESSONS
1. God's Will and moral standards shouldn't be compromised for earthly gains. 2. Act right, even if the whole world will tag you as a fool, God's on your side. 3. Be Wise and Courageous in taking right decisions. 4. God will reward all your sacrifices even when men's comments aren't encouraging. 5. Take the right steps, you may not know who is watching and will follow.
You must have learnt few lessons too about taking the right and uncommon steps, May God back you up as you take the steps to Stand for truth and righteousness. Amen!!!
Good day my fellow nairalander, please I will be glad if anyone here has an idea of how first bank graduate trainee P. Q look like and such person should share it with me. Thanks

There is no need of panicking, just go the bank with your transaction details, they will help you to contact the recipient and he will have no option than to reverse the money. Someone has mistakenly tranfered 66k to me without any traces for me to call back but with the help of the bank he was able to reach me and I was gladly to refund the money.
Gidilagoon: Pls house, I don’t know if am being stupid or not man enough but I just have to share this with you guys just for an advice.. it might be long as I really want to express myself pls. I have been dating this girl going to 2years now and we are planning to settle down probably next year. I have known this girl for a very long time because we have dated before when I just got admitted to university but we ended after short period,so After few years that we’av graduated, we met again and fortunately we were both still single ,so we decided to start dating again and this time we are more serious and planning for future, I realized she must have dated many guys when I left her because it was a long time ago, so I decided to change her phone number just to avoid any connection with any guy from her past since am planning my future with her now, but after awhile I noticed some of these guys still chat her on FB and Instagram and she replies, and one even sent her money and I was totally mad at her but later we resolved it.. so back to the main issue that just came up recently . I don’t know what took me to her Facebook profile and I decided to go through her messages, I noticed one of the guy she claimed to be her uncle was a man friend she has known from the past, this guy Is married with 2kids living in US.I noticed my girl sent her nude to him and they were having sex chat, so I acted like I didn’t see anything and I invited her to my house the next day and tell her what I saw, then she started crying, immediately I gave her 3 hot slap and asked her to leave my apartment but she wouldn’t leave but kept crying on the floor and said she’s ready to swear with death if such ever happened again, that she was just stupid. Well I dragged her out of my house, and since then all her family from different places have been calling me pleading on her behalf except her Mom and Dad which she can’t tell about it.I noticed she has changed her phone number and delete her Facebook account after what happened , but I told her it’s already late when her aunty called me... honestly I still love her, because she’s the only girl I ever fell for but won’t I look stupid if I accept all the pleading and continue with her? And can such girl make a good wife? She’s too vulnerable, too emotional and she has dated a lot of guys in the past, so it scares the hell out of me to settle down with her, so that man no go die untimely death.. Her aunty said she wants to come and meet me this weekend but I told her I will get back to her. Do you think I should let her come? Pls mature men in the house don’t abuse me, just advice your guy abeg.
My own little advice is that you pray over it before taking any action. If she is your may God put you through and if otherwise may God give you your own. Pertaining dating different guys in the past, everybody has past.
edimolu: @op, only if you knew the innumerable count of single ladies waiting to be loved would you not spend needless time on your already-gone-girlfriend?
i could remember being in your shoes a life time ago, mine was even dumb enough to tell me she is not dating the guy but she enjoys the attention...this is a girl we've dated for almost 5 years and fûcked over 400 times!!!
i told her to pick btw us, biitch said i should not put her in that spot, lol...bro...i was quick to move on...i stopped the calls and chats...
Am with another now....but ex still be buzzing my line hoping for a comeback....she'd wait tire!!
bro yhu seriously do not know what you missing, once a lady stops feeling you, just let go, trying to make it work reduces your esteem and self-worth!!!
I love this babe too much. I just pray she understands me.
Good day my fellow nairalanders, I have been dating this girl right from my year two in the University, we have done a lot together, she loves me wholeheartedly then, I love her too but I complaint too much on whatever she does, I cheated on her, I betrayed her trust. But to my greatest surprised, everything changed the day I had first sex with her after five years of relationship, ever since then I had started listening to her, treating her like queen, introduced her to my parents as their daughter in-law. I have also been to her house but met the absence of her parents. Her mother and others siblings knows about our relationship. But I discovered she has fell in love with another guy about a month ago, she has limited the way she chat with me, the calls and all that even if I call her, she felt reluctant to pick at times. Please what can I do to have my woman back? I really love her. We have chosen December for the introduction before this issue emanated. Thanks in anticipation for your candid advice.
Diickrider: How many Christians can save such child in that situation? Islam remains the true religion that cares for humanity. Gassama is a proud Muslim, not a terrorist
Let us stop this religion sentiment so that our nation can grow, anybody from any religion can do it even better than the guy does, I'm a Muslim and I stands against religion sentiment

TheLawTheLegal: A University of Ibadan alumnus, Mr. Kayode Bello popularly called ‘Kay Bello’ has been expelled from the Nigerian Law School. Until the time of his expulsion, Kayode Bello has been a student of the Nigerian Law School, Abuja campus.
The University of Ibadan graduate, who recently concluded the compulsory court attachment programme of the Nigerian Law School has been shown the way out of the Bar programme after a series of face off and encounter between him and the management of the institution The Page Reports.
It should be noted that the final Bar examination for this year comes up on August 15, 2017.
According to one of his colleagues, who spoke under the condition of anonymity, trouble had started for Kay Bello in Law School when he wrote a petition against the management of the Nigeria Law School over what he alleged as poor social welfare conditions.
It was stated that Kay Bello printed fliers and sort to mobilise his colleagues at the Abuja campus of Law school to stand against the management and demand for a better living condition in terms of conducive classrooms and hostel facilities to justify the expensive fees they had paid for the school.
However, It was gathered that after Kay Bello wrote the petition and submitted, the leadership of the Students’ Representatives Council of the Nigerian Law School in a letter to the management disowned him, stating that he was acting solely on his “own volition” and not representing the students’ interest. We later learnt that he was queried and told to withdraw his petition but Kay Bello refused.
After the conclusion of the court attachment programme, THE PAGE was informed that there was a summary trial but he failed to show up.
In a Phone Call with Online Newspaper THEPAGE, Kay Bello confirmed the expulsion from the Nigerian Law School programme and added that he is currently working on getting a bigger platform to protest his expulsion.
According to him, “It is in connection with the petition. They want me to beg but you know that I will never beg.”
Meanwhile, the management has published a poster containing his expulsion information and pasted around the law school campus. Another colleague speaking revealed that when Kay Bello was expelled, he refused to leave and was still using the school’s library when security officials had to bundled him out of the institution.
Recall that he was earlier rusticated from the University of Ibadan on April 13, 2010 following his involvement in a protest over hike in school fees in 2008.
