Politics / 2014 Budgets, A Slap On Nigerians Faces. by Yusluv77(m): 6:41pm On Dec 27, 2013 |
N1.5bn to build house for David Mark, Tambuwal and their deputies N1b to build house of Sambo N391,829,200, on research and development by the police N80m on computer software acquisition for the police N219. 7m on the maintenance of its offices and residential buildings for the police. The police total budget is N292,351,812,085. N310,553,170 for the purchase of vehicles in 2014 for the police Air navigation equipment are billed to take N131,058,830 for the police Rehabilitation of police stations, office buildings and barracks , N735,878,855. Maintenance of motor vehicles by the police will cost N463,935,012 while ‘other maintenance services’ are billed to gulp N238,861,716 . Uniforms and clothings will cost N964,694,529. FUELING OF GENERATORS 1. Ministry of Finance N76.5m 2. Police formation and command N71.3m 3. Ministry of Foreign Affaris N56.16m 4. Ministry of Health N47.62M We will be spending more than N250m Naira on fueling generators for four ministries in 2014. Can somebody see the joke they called budget in this Country? How does the common man benefit from all these? We are told we have some 370,000 police offices in ths country and we will be spending close to 1 billion Naira to cloth them. How much does a police clothing cost? We will spending another N238,861,716 on maintenance services (although we were not told what we need to maintain with such amount), we will also spend another N463,935,012 on maintaining police vehicles. We were not again told how many vehicles we will be maintaining with close to half a bilion Naira. We will be spending more than >N735m Naira on rehabilitating police barracks, we will also spend some N131,058,830, and spending some N310,553,170 to buy police vehicles in 2014. What we are spending on maintaining vehicles is more than what we are spending on purchasing vehicles for the police in 2014. We will be spending some N80m Naira on computer and software. Gving the security challenges in this country, I am in support of good funding of the police, I need further clarifications on how many computers and software will gulp as much as N80m? Hope with this huge budget our police will wake up OUR from their sleeping on duty and give Nigerians the value for this huge expenditure. TODAY IS YESTERDAY`S TOMORROW. |

OPEN LETTER TO NIGERIANS: Dear fellow Nigerians, How are you all doing? I know all is not well but i believe things will change for good in the nearest future. I would like to use this medium to point out a certain fact to all of us. Did you know that When a Nigerian National team scores a goal......Nigerians of all ethnicity and religion will jump up in jubilation and be screaming one word, one language in one voice "GOOAALLL!!!". That moment, we forget our ethnic & tribalistic sentiments wether it was scored by an Hausa, an Igbo or a Yoruba man. We love the feelings, we cherish the moments, we adore the players and we sing with one voice....."Up Super Eagles, Up Flying Eagles, Up Golden Eaglets and Up Green Eagles". When we talk about those games....we talk about "Nigeria" with one voice. We always wish Nigeria the best and support Nigeria with our great man power to go all out for the "Glory", for the interest of "One Nigeria". Nigeria can work, Nigeria can be a better place, Nigeria can move forward if the Hausa man can support the Yoruba man in government, if the Yoruba man can shun every ethnic sentiments and support the administration of the Igbo government. Look at the Golden Eaglets...the Hausa man [YAHAYA] passes the ball to the Igbo man [IHEANACHO] & the Igbo man tries and dribbles his way out of the huddles just to set up the Yoruba man [AWONIYI] to score the goal. That one goal that was fought for by the collective responsibility, hard work and contributions of all the ethnic Nationality for one common goal [interest] that will benefit, elevate and sky rocket this One Nation to a greater hight and achievement (s). We should learn from this... we are one Nigeria, and that one greater Nigeria will only be possible if we eschew this our habit of ethnic sentiments and religious bias. UP GOLDEN EAGLETS, UP UP UPPER #NIGERIA. !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! 7 Likes |

Politics / Re: National Dialogue Outcome To Be Sent To National Assembly by Yusluv77(m): 9:21am On Oct 17, 2013 |
Let us look at the political structure of our colonial master, Britain/United Kingdom (UK) who brought us into this mess. UK has four federating regions namely England, Wales, Scotland and Northern Ireland. All these regions have a common prime minister who resides in London, UK capital. The major things they have in common are currency, ambassador and visa. That is, they operate with one currency, have one ambassador representing them in other countries and one uses the same visa to enter all of them. Apart from this, all the nations of UK are almost independent of the other. Each region has its own police, national team, domestic league, etc. Hence, the English Premier League we watch at the expense of our domestic league is only applicable to England. Each region manages its God- given resources and give a little percent to the centre as tax. Through this, each region develops at its own pace independent of other regions. Nigeria once flourished under a system of governement similar to this where we had three regions - North, West and East. Each of these regions sustained itself with groundnut, cocoa and palm oil respectively including other agricultural resources. It was during this period that the three renowned universities - UNN, ABU and OAU were built by each region. Dr. Nnamdi Azikiwe built the University of Nigeria, Nsukka (UNN) using money from palm oil, Sir Ahmadu Bello built Ahmadu Bello University (ABU), Zaria using money from groundnut and Chief Obafemi Awolowo built Obafemi Awolowo University (OAU), Ile-Ife from cocoa money. Intellectuals like Prof. Wole Soyinka, Prof Chinua Achebe, etc were produced under this system of govrnment. There was healthy competition among the three regions and each developed at its own pace independent of other regions. There was nothing like looting of public fund then and the struggle by all the ethnic regions to control the centre (federal government) was not as it is today. The Hausa/Fulani military oligarchy came and suspended the constittution, created several states at their own advantage and in their bid to control the oil in the Niger Delta. This is the genesis of Nigeria's problem. What Nigerians are asking for is just a return to this true federalism or total break up of the country. President GEJ said the outcome of the National Dialogue would be sent to the National Assembly (NASS). Which NASS? The people representing the interest/wishes of the masses or the NASS dominated by the North? A NASS where Kano alone produces 22 house of representatives members and Katsina 17 whereas Anambra and Abia have just 10 and 8 respectively. Is it the NASS that have passed no bill at the interest of the masses but rather attempted to legalise girl child marriage? I think GEJ is trying to bow to pressure from Hausa/Fulani on the proposed National Dialogue. |
