As a tired Nigerian youth, the issue of unemployment in Nigeria is not just a topic, but a harsh reality that affects my daily life.

Despite having a good education and skills, I struggle to find a job that matches my qualifications.

It's time for the government to take real action and prioritise creating job opportunities for the youth.

Schools should change their academic curriculum to include more subjects in entrepreneurship so that in the event of not getting a job after spending years in school, one can still survive and make a living.

Until then, we will continue to be a generation stuck in a cycle of unemployment and poverty.

Almost all tertiary institutions have entrepreneurship courses now.

Besides what you should be talking about is career sensitization and awareness programs at primary and secondary school levels especially junior classes.

Most people choose jaw breaking courses by name without thinking about job opportunities at graduation.

That's where the problem lies.
