The crux of your argument is that Tecno uses Sony IMX sensors 64mp. I asked which one, you said IMX 686 and you presented a site that wasn't well known to back it up.

I know Transsion. I know them well. If they used a Sony sensor, it would be part of the advertisement. Them for use am shine everywhere. But they didn't. In fact, what they did on their website is a revision. They edited the site.

Now ask yourself, would you use a Sony IMX and hide that fact away from the public?

The Redmi Note 7 uses a Samsung GM1 ISOCELL.

I have checked Sony's site as well but cannot see anything about Tecno there. So I decided to rest my case. I no dey sentimental guy. I deal with facts. If I no get facts, I rest. Them no dey pay me. Na learn I dey.

Just don't get it twisted.

I guess Tecno was too ashamed to acknowledge they used an image sensor only found on flagship devices from Oneplus, Oppo, Vivo, Lenovo, Motorola and Sony. They forgot to mention it throughout their advertising and propagating of the camon 15 premier, only to ignore the disgusted feeling, to post that information at their convenient time now...

It's obvious one of us in this current argument isn't using his brain for reasoning.

Tecno says the camon 15 pro has a 48mp camera on an mtk p35, which is literally impossible for obvious reasons.
You have succeeded in bringing to my attention that the Tecno camon 15 premier uses a binning image sensor from Sony.
Backing your claims up with the specification coming from Tecno's official site. An information that wasn't there in the official site before.

I do not trust this information, I thank technology for communication. I have means at my disposal to findout if Tecno's claim that the lens on the camon 15 premier was made by Sony is true.
[you must understand contacting Sony won't be an easy job, and if its actually a false claim by Tecno, Sony will be suing Tecno for falsifying proprietary claims in an attempt to defraud the public and an obvious attempt to tarnish the credibility of The Sony branding]

Tecno may have shot themselves on the foot with the Sony claims. But if Sony confirms that they indeed sold their lens to Tecno for the camon 15 premier.
Samsung will have the last laugh with the redmi note 9 pro max and realme 6 pro.

Check every of the above phone manufacturer you mentioned. They provide detailing information to their device even to the screen material, ram, rom, battery and camera module.
Not post misleading information and withholding incrementing details as regards to their product.

In the light of our thread on twitter and here on nairaland, Tecno did not only state the manufacturer of the main camera lens on the camon 15 premier they also stated manufacturer of the main lens, I should apologise because they did their job?

Listen well, I am going to ensure that the detail on the Tecno official site regarding the lens maker is not just another hoax.. I should apologise for making them do their job and according to you, I am ignorant because I refused to be as daft, poorly informed and misguided as you to accept things even when they speak volumes of their scamish nature?

Well, tell tecno to state the manufacturer of the camon 15 pro lens while they are at it. Since it took Tecno two months to input that Sony manufactured the 64mp lens on camon 15 premier.

Seems likely to fall in the same price range as the redmi 8. On a preorder basis as of now, but aliexpress has it for 61k 3/32, the redmi 8 is retailing for 55k 4/64.

I amazed that the redmi 9 according to aliexpress will have NFC.

It's evident it wasn't there before. But again... If it's doesn't go this far, Tecno won't stop their misinformation.
I had to report to jumia a misinformation about the tecno camon 15 premier published to have NFC.
Jumia has since promised to look into it.
I am contacting a few sources closed to Sony and DMing every Sony agent, seeing Tecno posted this information anytime from 2weeks ago.. When I checked the tecno official site two weeks ago, there was no information on the lens manufacturer.

Alright. Can you provide a source to the binned image that was used?
Was it Sony or Samsung? Because even Tecno doesn't state it on their official website.

Redmi note 8 pro uses a co-developed 64mp sensor by Samsung and Xiaomi.
Realme Narzo 10 uses a 48mp samsung binned image sensor.
Huawei uses the leica company for their flagship lens.
Redmi 8 uses the sony 12mp flagship level image sensor.

You want to answer on Tecno's behalf?
Oyah provide proof.
Saying Tecno used photo binning is not an answer to an alarming case of Tecno falsifying specification of their products to gain an undeserved recognition in the smartphone industry.

Helio P35 only supports dual cameras. 13+13mp. The highest resolution it can take for a single camera is 25mp.

Tecno Camon 15 pro sports a 64mp camera. And not just that, it's a quad camera set up. So how does it support the extra 2 cameras. Another one too, if the 64mp is binned to 16mp, how does a 13+13 set up carry a binned 16mp?

Finally, this quote is from the mobile Indian

So far, the images from Camon 15 Premier has proved them right.

The thing dey amaze me... How the OP came to the realization that there are no limits to pixel binning, so much so, the camon 15 premier could support a 64mp binned image sensor without malfunctioning at every camera use.
Even the case of 13mp +13mp on such a chip like mtkp35 will result in camera stopping, image sensor going dead, gallery app unable to locate the camera module and other camera related issues.

So you can have a proper knowledge of the limitations accompanying binning and only two lens manufacturers have this technology.. Samsung and Sony.
The Sony 64mp image sensor is the more expensive and practical output when compared to that of Samsung.
Tecno has refused to state the lens they used, because that would give users an opportunity to channel their attention to the company for verification.
Other than @techcabal which I am on their case to verify their claims of tecno camon 15 premier having a Sony 64mp lens, no other reputable site has the image sensor used on any of the camon 15 series.

Photo binning is not even close to fixing tecno's lie. Yes photo binning is a technology that is available, but it has its limitations. So how has Tecno managed to overcome this limitation and included a binned image sensor of 64mp on an incapable chipset like mtk p35?

This is what I have done personally, adding to the awareness I am creating off and online.
I have at least 3 persons waiting to buy the redmi note 9, these persons where interested in the camon 15 premier, infinix s5 pro and infinix note 7, respectively.
These persons were using Transission devices before.
I have at least four persons interested in the redmi 9 series.
I am personally buying the redmi 9 for a friend, I am getting the redmi 9c with nfc for myself; just to see how a lowend device with nfc works like.
When these persons go about with their xiaomi devices, be sure there will be total disruption in smartphone market and Transission will be completely swept out.

I agree this move is slow, driving the awareness will take a while. But be sure the desired effect will be achieved.
Considering one of these two 5G device.. Redmi 10x and Huawei x10.

If you can't amswer this question, no one will crucify you. At least let us who are genuinely interested in how Tecno manages to insult Nigerians and their technological brilliance with such an open lie ask the question until someone capable enough answers the question. Its been months since this question was asked on http://twitter.com/zesushv with no answer from Tecno or their sympathisers.

My next move is to mandate MediaTek to ban smartphone makers that manufactures inferior phones why overstating the capabilities of the Mediatek processor in the device.
This is calling to question the credibility of mediatek to censor the usage of their chipset.

So far, I am honestly in limbo concerning the redmi 9 series. Every launch date has been shifted. Probably because there is a new addition to the redmi 9 lineup which is the 9c.
If the redmi 9c does launch with NFC in the picture, it will not only be a first for xiaomi but also for the Smartphone universe in this price range.

My assumptions are, the helio g25 and g35 are just re-named mtk p25 and p35. But that seem unlikely with their rumoured gpus.
The comments suggesting here that xiaomi took a wrong turn for using an mtk chip on their device is quite hilarious because xiaomi has never shied away from the mtk franchise, if anything xiaomi has built a solid partnership with the chipmaker.

Xiaomi was the first company to launch a device with mtk helio G90T chip. A chipset that attempted to rewrite the way people saw mtk chipset.
As of the time of typing this, the mtk Dimensity 1000 still tops the 5G midrange segment where companies like Samsung Exynos, Huawei hilisirin and Snapdragon are competing for.
Xiaomi recently launched the redmi 10X with MTK Dimensity 820 5G chipset.

Personally, I prefer SD chip devices to MTK devices because of Transision's ability to topple every hardware assembling with inferior materials and misleading details on their specs sheet.
When you see a Samsung, Huawei or oppo device powered by an mtk chipset, you just know the people giving mtk a bad name is Transision.
I have not at any opportunity hidden my dissatisfaction and mistrust for the Transission brand, and will not stop anyone who call to question the move of xiaomi as a smartphone brand. Afterall, I don't cut them any slack myself.

I will be buying the redmi 9, this was almost certain until I learnt that a sub 200dollar device was going to have usb c, 5000mah battery with 18watts fast charge support, ir blaster, corning gorilla glass 5 and NFC..... It will be difficult to not want to have a go at this device if the rumour turns out to be true.

Like I clearly stated "rumour" so everyone, take a seat, don't lose your reasoning yet.
A chipset is the first and most important part of a good smartphone device but its not the only aspect of a device that mskes it great.

But what everyone should be aware of is this; the mtk g70 will be a much powerful chip compared to the mtk g25 and g35.
Seeing the Gseries from mtk are gaming chipset, expect the new chipset to have a remarkable gaming gpus.
Also bear in mind, the redmi 9 series are lowend segment of xiaomi's device lineups. And every year, xiaomi manages to put at least a thing or two in these lowend device to make it a lowend device with some flagship features. This year, it seems like its NFC that fits into the fold.
