Amedino99: one of the effects of always finishing 3rd or 2nd in afcon. You cant really quantify their contributions since they have no accolades to show for it so it will always seem like they were never here. Mention kanu to any person and the first and most notable contribution that will be mentioned will be the Olympics medal he won for us. An age grade competition. so was it the age grade competition that gave Kanu his 2 APOTY, okocha was in the same age grade competition but never won it. |

femianski: The morrocans have been fuming seriously on social media about Lookman's win and has been blaming racism. This next year AFCON, they'll try every possible means and tactics to make that competition a nightmare for other participants. I don't blame them but CAF for giving them this entitlement mentality by making them host several ceremonies and competitions there recently. or you blame the so called giant of Africa who presently can't host any Caf tournament. |

Blame the National team coach that kept benching for some players. Although, Yakubu na baba ooo.
Nevertheless, Martins has 2 bronze medals in AFON.
He could have won in 2013 when he was at his peak but late Stephen Keshi with his bias selection dropped him from the team. He could have.... 🤔 But he didn't. See Martins even when he was introduced last nite as Nigeria legend, I just laff, say who make this one Nigeria legend. Same thing people will say about Boniface in years to come if he do not improve. |

Kog45: My Afcon best Super eagles performers....
1.Ademola Lookman...3 goals and wonderful assist for Osimhen against EG was great. He had a great tournament and came to the parties when we needed him most.He was wonderful against Angola and Cameroon.
2.Troost Ekong...3 goals, scored Ivory Coast twice,a decisive penalty against Ivory Coast and had a wonderful tournament that surprised fans.
3.Ola Aina....played RB and LB in the tournament and had performance that would be remembered as the best by any eagles wingback in Afcon, though very average in the final.
4.Frank Onyenka...he was all over the field, worked his socks off with full energy, reminded fans of Onazi scintillating performance in Afcon 2013.It will take third eye to recognize Onyenka on the field.
5.Bassey Calvin...what a great tournament for the young lad.He did well in 3 man defence alongside Ekong and Ajayi and full of strength moving forward to complement Sanusi.
6.Stanley Nwabali...came in and gave us world class performance that have been eluding us in our goalkeeping department for a long time.He gave masterclass performance during penalty shootouts against SA.
7.Semi Ajayi....with Ekong and Bassey were on defensive all through the tournament based on Peseiro approached to our games. He formed a good understanding at the back with Ekong and Bassey.I rated the trio as the best cuz they did very well defensively. He was denied a goal against Cameroon.
8.Osimhen Victor...a goal in the tournament but worked for the team throughout and had a great performance against Cameroon, especially never die assist to Lookman speak volume of his class.
The team generally did well, hope we make it to WC. nice take placing Aina, Onyeka and Osimhen was a difficult one for me, I even forgot Ajayi ☺️ |

Bannedlargejr: If lookman wasn’t our best player at Afcon who was? Ekong? Osimhen? Members, who was Nigeria best player at Aston 2024?? For me, my ranking of Nigeria best performance 1.Ekong 2 Lookman 3.Onyeka 4 Osimhen. 5.nwabali 6.Aina 7.Bassey Then the rest The whole team gave their all, but looking at Caf listing you can draw your conclusion who has the best performance. Same tournament that see Ekong listed among Best defenders? |

elyte89: Dessers movement and positioning off d ball is better Dan all of our strikers presently ,d few times have watched him but. If he sees such chances of 10,he would barely convert 3 into goals ,he loses goal scoring chances
However super eagles of today don’t need such a striker ,we want those who will convert those chances as it comes ..at least 8 out of ten, And which present striker in SE including Osimhen convert 8/10. Abi when it comes to Dessers the bar is raised. |

Subzerooo: Wait is Dessers no longer playing in the Scottish league, Rangers fans see him as the second coming of the devil, what would he offer to the SE when we are battling crucial qualifiers when he is not of the level required?
So if you are coach in a world cup qualifier you play Dessers ahead of Boniface because he scores 2 after every intermediate drought, put Dessers in a Bayern Leverkusen team and put Boniface in a Rangers team and reevaluate lol we have seen both in the SE team and Dessers is better, the records speak for himself |
