Important information for Toshiba Satellite T135, T135D and Satellite Pro T130 owners - The US Consumer Product Safety Commission and Health Canada announced a recall following over 100 cases of the notebooks overheating and melting:

Certain Satellite T135, T135D and Satellite Pro T130 laptop computers have been manufactured with a potentially faulty DC-In harness.  These computers will have model/part numbers beginning with PST3AU, PST3BU, or PST3LU. The defective harness may, in some circumstances, overheat to the point of melting the computer’s base at the location where the AC adaptor plugs into the unit.  To date there have been no reports of serious injury, but the temperature is sufficient to pose a burn hazard if specific parts of the DC-In Jack or plug are touched when they are overheated.

Toshiba is releasing a BIOS revision which will prevent the computer from overheating in this manner.  To protect you from injury and your computer from damage, Toshiba strongly recommends that you update your system BIOS to version to 2.70 for the Satellite T135, 1.90 for the Satellite T135D and 2.70 for the Satellite Pro T130.

Toshiba has a BIOS update that should identify troubled notebooks:

The BIOS can be downloaded by clicking on the following hot link:  Satellite T135 v2.70 for the Satellite T135, Satellite T135D v1.90 for the Satellite T135D, Satellite Pro T130 v2.70 for the Satellite Pro T130,  The appropriate BIOS revision is also available as an update provided through the Toshiba Service Station Application installed on you computer.

Should the BIOS determine that a harness failure is occurring, external power will immediately be disabled eliminating the possibility of the over heating.  You will then need to contact the Toshiba call center to set up a warranty repair.  If the harness failure is detected while the system is operating you will receive a system message indicating that the failure has occurred and that external power has been disabled.  You may continue to use the system, without risk of overheating, using the remaining battery charge.  You should immediately close all open files and applications to avoid any data loss.  Once the data has been saved the system should be properly shutdown.   It will not be possible to recharge the battery within the system until it has been repaired

Not buying the racism thing either. Although its a fact that 85% or more of people ( not just Whites) are less tolerant to people of other race. However, I would like to know how she got the knife past the metal detector ( there surely has to be one at the entrance/exit door), and secondly was the entire event caught on surveillance tapes ? Not like Nigeria is powerful enough to do anything about it. But it would be nice to just know though.

i dont know about the german but UK has no metal detectors at job centre entrances we only have security guards not by the door but inside far way from the door

as for tapes i think they will be released to public when a full investigation has been done

not with a knife you are thinking from a movie point of view here in UK once you wield a big knife a special team has to be called in, even with car chasing its either they just follow you at a distance while the helicopter takeover or highly trained chasing unit take over and if the chase is dangerous to the public they let you go

I have a fairly used deskstop from a telco company. The problem is that the sound and volume control has been disabled. Even going to the control panel tyo fix it is difficult. I just acquired an external audio device but I cn't listen to anything.

if there were disabled would you activate them ? did you go to device manger and check what symbols were there on the sound card?

and also on the external one did you change the settings for the computer to use the external one ?

i went to the US for a competition then a bought the laptop, after using it for about 2 months, d bios had a problem and d system was over heating. The solution was to update my BIOS i did, then the motherboard became bad. It was then i logged in to their site and found out that they were recalling that system.
I called their customer care and the only way they could repair it was if isent the system over. As that's the only place the warranty covers. Tried all i could to get them to repair it for me, but didnt get a favourable response.
My only option was to do it myself or send it to them. From my calculations, doing it myself would be cheaper and faster. So i chose that option.
That is how i got to this phase.
Now please can anybody direct me to a good place where i can get it fixed?

What i mean is that after hibbernating and switching it on again, it uses more than 1.5 hours in my presence playing music without pluging the charger

ok does it hibernate while you are working on it or while it is just playing music?

system can hibernate after being inactive it sleeps the screen and shutdown the hd depending with your setting

Pls somebody help. My guy just got a lappy. He noticed that each time the NEPA light is off or charger is removed, the system will hibbernate immediately. The battery is good cos it can use more than 4 hrs. Pls any help

what you are saying doesnt add up

hibernation can never be triggered by pulling of the charger

the battery is gone hence once the charger is pulled out is triggers hibernation and only heavy duty batteries can last 4hrs of which most of the time are used by military guys or huge research companies

@ zimdrill, there's no harm trying. Besides, the problem i'm having iis a factory problem, the system was recalled, maybe even before i bot it. So by now i expect the corrected one's to be in the market.
Besides, i still have to try. Would not just sit here doing nothing.

Hi All,

I'm unhappy with my husband and I'm not sure which direction to take. Firstly, I have known him for over 12 years, we dated casually for a while but I never slept with him because I was young and principled. We broke up later and I started dating someone else. Unbeknown to me, they(my new boyfriend and old boyfriend) grew up in the same area and knew each other; they even share a couple of friends. Anyway I did sleep with new guy (I was about 20, so I lost my virginity at 20 ). I later broke up with the new guy mainly because I did not like his direction in life. He had stopped going to school and was into shady deals. About a year later, my first boyfriend (now my husband) asked me out again and we started dating and later got married. We have been married for over 5 years now and have two beautiful daughters.

The issue is that my husband calls me a pr0stitute every time we have an argument. How can I be a pr0stitute when I have only ever slept with two men? It is really hurtful and even though he later apologises, the next time we have a fight it’s the first thing that comes out of his mouth. Sometimes I wish I had slept with many men, then at least he would be justified.

Another issue is that he has a short temper and beats me up sometimes we have a fight (This has not happened in the last two years though). I'm a well educated career woman on a good salary that could easily survive without him.
I'm tempted to take my kids and leave but he is so nice when we are not fighting.

I should add that I’m only 28 year old.

then him also messed up like you married you knowing that the common friends can talk about you when they feel like eg do you know that james was the guy who broke peter's wife etc

if you is not booting it means it is switching on so the question why rush to say motherboard ?

you got two options chill for more three months then you will find damaged ones or buy one from the manufacturer

how do u define old? My laptop is a new model and it's barely 3months old. So its nt old. The money i woulduse to get a new one of such specs would be nearly times 3 of the cost of the motherboard.
I get all ya points. But i think i would make more money selling it as a whole rather than in parts. So if can change it then it would have more economical value. I was just looking for a trusted place to get the job done.

then you are in a tight spot if it is a new model and 3months old i.e very few people would be selling the motherboard since its new very few would have messed up a very new model

eg pick any new model of the past 4 months and check if people are selling the motherboards on ebay

not really am saying if it an old pc why bother look for motherboard, than looking for something above the old pc

though the one you will be buying it wont be new and fresh from the package but it has to be a model higher than the old

eg if the damaged one is an acer aspire 1640 then next one to get should be a model above than whether it is an acer, toshiba hp etc
