The Governing Council of the Osun State University,
Osogbo, has finally sacked Dr. Olabode Ojoniyi of
the Department of Languages and Linguistics, Ikire Campus, who was caught on tape while trying to
have sex with a female student of the institution. The Governing Council headed by Mallam Yusuf Ali
SAN, after painstakingly investigating the case,
axed the lecturer, who appeared nude on a bed in
a hotel room and caressing one Miss Mercy Ikwue. A member of the Governing Council confirmed the
sacking of Ojoniyi to Punch in Osogbo on Sunday. He said, “The Council met last week and the report
of the panel that investigated Ojoniyi’s amorous
affair with the female student was deliberated
upon. His appointment was terminated because
that is the penalty stated in the Code of Conduct of
Staff of Osun State University.”



Part II articles 15 and 23 of the Code of Conduct
for Staff and Students of UNIOSUN read, “An
academic staff shall not conduct himself/ herself in
relation to students in such a manner that
derogates from his status as a lecturer, examiner
and adviser. Specifically, sexual harassment of students by (members of) staff is totally forbidden.
Any (member of) staff found guilty of sexual
harassment shall be dismissed from the service of
the university and may be handed over to relevant
state authority for prosecution. “An academic (member of) staff shall not demand
from students any gratification whether in cash or
in kind including sexual gratification in the
discharge of his/her lawful duties. Breach of this
code shall warrant appropriate sanction ranging
from warning to termination of appointment depending on the gravity of the offence.”



The lecturer in August landed in trouble after the
girl released the over 30-minute video clip,
allegedly recorded in a hotel room. Though there was no real sexual intercourse in
the footages, however, some students of the
institution claimed the accused raped her. In a petition written by some students of the
university, they said Ojoniyi was behind the
suspension of Ikwue, after she was allegedly
caught for examination malpractices. The petition claimed the lecturer mounted pressure
on the student for an amorous affair but the lady
resisted him. It was further learnt that the lady confided in some
persons, who advised her to set a trap for Ojoniyi
by agreeing to his love advances. According to the content of the captured footages,
the female student mounted the laptop directly
opposite the bed and pretended to be watching
the ‘Things Fall Apart’ film on it but she was
capturing the moment of madness with the
supposed lecturer.



However, Ojoniyi in his reaction then blamed some
of his colleagues, accusing them of conspiring against him. Meanwhile, a Bill for an Act to make provision for the prohibition and punishment of sexual
harassment of students by lecturers in tertiary
institutions has since been passed into law.

President Muhammadu Buhari
says the sacrifices of fallen officers
and men in the war against
terrorism in Nigeria would never
go in vain, and that their
memories would be eternally etched in the hearts and minds of
fellow citizens for whose sake
they laid down their lives. Reacting to the death Colonel Abu
Ali, one of Nigeria’s finest and
bravest soldiers in recent history,
President Buhari said in a
condolence statement issued by
his Senior Special Assistant on Media and Publicity, Malam Garba
Shehu, that he was rudely
shocked by the news of the
officer’s death along with other
gallant soldiers during an
encounter with the Boko Haram bandits in Borno State. According to the President, “a
courageous commander does not
only give orders, but also joins his
men to fight the battle, no matter
the risks or the obvious danger.”



He explained that the late Colonel
Abu Ali “was an extraordinary
officer who inspired respect and
adoration among those he
commanded”, adding that “one
of the greatest attributes of a war hero is the ability to help your
troops overcome fear in the face
of danger. “ President Buhari the late Colonel
Ali and his other fallen colleagues
had brought glory to the army
and the country for laying down
their lives for the sake of others. In his passionate condolence to
the families of the victims and the
Nigerian Army, the President also
noted that their heroic sacrifices
were “so immeasurable that no
words can do justice to their patriotism and remarkable
courage.”



President Buhari, who personally
called late Colonel Ali’s father,
Brigadier-Gen. Abu Ali (Ryder) to
console the family , reassured
them that the death of her
husband and others in battle would never go in vain. “He was a
gallant soldier, never to be
forgotten. He has brought a good
name to the family,” said the
President. He then called on members of the
armed forces not to let the tragic
incident to dampen their morale
and spirit, adding that under no
circumstances should the Boko
Haram terrorists be allowed to destroy the will of our troops. He said “evil should not be given
any chance to defeat good and
humanity”, and that “members of
our armed forces should remain
formidably united in the war
against terrorism.”



Meanwhile, the President has
appointed a high powered
delegation to be led by the Chief
of Staff, Abba Kyari, that includes
the Minister of Federal Capital
Territory, Mohammed Bello and the Minister of State Solid Minerals
Development, Baba Buhari to
represent him at the funeral of
Colonel Abu Ali and others
tomorrow

Nations, SCOAN, Prophet T.B. Joshua, has reacted
to claims he had gone to Ghana to help rig the
December 7th presidential election for President
John Dramani Mahama. A popular Ghanaian pastor, Rev. Isaac Owusu-
Bempah, had claimed that T.B Joshua had plans to
help president Mahama win the elections in
December. The founder of Glorious Word Power Ministry
International, made his claim known during an
interview with Ghanaian online TV program.



Rev. Bempah said, “There is a man of God from
Nigeria in town, he’s here for nothing. “The power he came with is too small, nothing he
plans on doing here will work. “If Ghanaians make mistake and allow John
Mahama to win this year’s election, the calamity
that will befall the country will be unheard of. “Mark it on the wall. God is angry with Mahama, he
has blood on his hands.”



The presenter then asked him, “What man of God,
is it TB Joshua?” Rev. Bempah replied saying “Yes.” But dismissing the allegation, the popular Nigerian
prophet, on His Facebook account – TB Joshua
Ministries, said he is currently in Nigeria and not in
Ghana as claimed. In a statement, TB Joshua said, “This is an official
announcement from the SCOAN: There are rumors
on the internet stating that T.B. Joshua is in Ghana
to offer spiritual guidance to political parties.

Justice Dije Abdu Northerner of the Kano
state High Court yesterday convicted and
sentenced former Oceanic bank staff, Aliyu
Suleiman, to 195 years imprisonment
for stealing over N21, 000,000 (Twenty one
Million Naira only) from Albasu Microfinance Bank. As a former staff of Oceanic Bank, Aliyu was
engaged and entrusted by the Albasu
Community to take charge of their
Microfinance Bank. While in charge, the he
violated that trust and siphoned over N21,
000,000 (Twenty Million Naira) by forging signatures of the other signatories to the
funds. He was first arraigned in court on September
30th, 2014. He pleaded not guilty to all the
count charge brought against him by the
EFCC. Delivering judgement in the charges
brought against him, the presiding judge,
Justice Northerner sentenced the convict to serve two years on each of the first forty four
counts he was charged with and a fine of
N300, 000 on each.



Where the convict defaults the fine, he is to
serve additional six months imprisonment
on each count. From count 45 to 74, the
convict was sentenced to fine of N500, 000
or twelve months imprisonment on each
count while on count 75 to 105, he is to pay fine of N200, 000 or twelve months
imprisonment on each count with the
exception of count 97 which appeared to be
duplication. The sentences are to run concurrently. The
convict was also ordered to restitute the sum
of N14, 815,000 (Fourteen Million, Eight
Hundred and Fifteen Thousand Naira Only)
to the Albasu Community or spend five more
years in prison.

The Enugu State Police Command has refuted
claims it arrested a group of men allegedly behind
the leaked lesbian sex tape of former Miss
Anambra, Chidinma Okeke. Reports made the rounds on Thursday that the 7-
man gang was apprehended in Enugu. According to a Facebook user, Martin Beck
Nworah, the police arrested the guys at ‘Enugu’.



He posted some pictures of the alleged suspects
and wrote: “The guys are allegedly part of a 7-
member gang who specialize in blackmailing
ladies, especially UNIZIK students. “They are allegedly the guys who leaked the viral
lesbian sex video of ex-Miss Anambra, Chidinma
Okeke. “From investigation, these guys were the people
who orchestrated the release of the lesbian video
of the former Miss Anambra. “They met their waterloo when they tried the same
trick on another lady who was a former UNIZIK
student but currently an upcoming actress and a
model.



“Their mode of operation is very simple. They open
female Facebook accounts and scout for
unsuspecting young ladies. “These guys will operate the said accounts as
ladies and become very friendly with the said girls.
Inundated with promises of making them become
celebrities and promising to crop out their faces
before posting pictures, these unsuspecting girls
will send nude pictures and shot lesbian videos in return for a particular sum of money (around
100k).



“Immediately they get hold of these videos or
pictures, they will blackmail them into returning
the money or else they publish the video or
pictures.” But when DAILY POST contacted the Enugu State
Police spokesperson, Ebere Armaraizu, he
debunked the claim, saying, “I’m not aware of this.
No, no, no! No arrest of such was made in Enugu.
I’m in the Command and if anything like that
happened, I should know and make it available. “I don’t have such report. “If anything about the incident comes up in the
Command, I will get back to you but for now, I
can’t confirm that the arrest was made in Enugu,”
the spokesperson told DAILY POST.



This was just as the Commissioner of Police, CP in
Anambra, Mr Sam Okaula, also dismissed the
report, saying the command is not aware of any
sex scandal involving the former beauty queen. While noting that the command was yet to receive
any report of such case, Okaula said, “I am not
aware of any arrest of those involved or
blackmailers in the matter. We have not gotten any
report on the matter. “I’m also not aware of the speculation making the
round that some people have been arrested over
the matter in Enugu.” DAILY POST recalls that the much publicized lesbian
sex tape of the crowned winner of Miss Anambra
2015 competition had continued to spark up
controversies for the past three weeks.



Ms Okeke is currently entangled in a lesbian sex
tape scandal, in a video which has since gone viral
on the internet where she was seen having a ‘cozy
time’ with her female sex partner, who
unconfirmed sources simply identified as Ada. The video shows her on a lesbian act with Ada, who is reportedly one of her close friends and
happens to be her personal assistant and also the
3rd runner up at the queen of democracy, 2014. Ada was seen sucking her nipples, while Ms Okeke
handled a tuber of cucumber, which she used
