Amusing ![]() Why are Christians hung up about what people wear or their sexuality? With all the evil in the world today, one would think that god has far more important and serious issues to worry about. There is poverty, hunger, injustice, ill health and so on to bother about. What do christians get hot under the collar about? Women wearing trousers. Is this really about christianity or are you just projecting your misogyny unto your god? |
Of course, he will not appear. How can he? If he ever existed, he died over 2000 years ago. In spite of what the bible says, dead people do not rise from the dead and there are no such creatures like ghosts. Besides, it appears that the biblical Jesus was an underachiever. If I was god, and I rose from the dead, I would not appear to a handful of people, I would appear to the whole population of the world simultaneously. If that had happened, people like me would not be in a position to question the existence of the christian god. So that my position is clear, the muslim god does not exist either. |
noetic16:Instead of dealing with the points I made, you have chosen to go on a frolic of your own. The more you try, the tighter the knots you have bound yourself with. Nothing more to say. |
noetic16:God, I presume, has a purpose for all of us. His ultimate aim, you would say, is that human beings reconcile with him, and accept his son as lord and saviour. The bible has been described as the "Good Book" and is the manual by which Christians are meant to live their lives and make sense of an uncertain world. It, therefore, behoves the author of any such manual to ensure that his instructions are so clear that it does not allow misinterpretation. If god chose not to make the bible understandable to everyone who picks it up (even the nuisance), then he has just set people up to fail. Likewise if he chose to write it in coded prophesy, because this mean that people seeking salvation would have to depend on other people for their understanding of the will of god. Surely, it is doctrinally wrong to depend on other people for the interpretation of the bible. "I am the way, the truth and the light. No one gets to the father except through me." Your comments have just consigned the words of Jesus (who I am sure you believe in) to dust. your version of Christianity would place intermediaries between believers and Jesus. I am sure that your god wants atheists to see the light and come home. The bible should therefore be clear enough for even atheists to read it and realise their errors. The bible should make god's intended message clear (even to non-believers). Seeing that believers themselves have many different interpretations of the message, how can the bible be described as the inerrant word of god? |
noetic16:These do not make any sense at all. If god inspired the bible, he should have made it easily understandable. Depending on him for complete understand is akin to saying I will interpret the bible according to my moods. Now I understand why people are not encouraged to read the entirety of the bible. If you are not a christian, it is not meant for you, and by the time you become one it is not necessary. This is the way I read point 2. I am sure that there is some logic there, it just can't be found. noetic16:In other words, the bible does not make sense. WOW, some insight. The more you try, the more you tie yourself in knots. |
Ogaga4Luv:Good for you. say hello to him when you see him. Just as there is certainly no god, there is no satan. |
Devonian:I agree. In particular, we seem to have elevated these self-proclaimed men of god to untouchable heights. "Touch not the anointed of god" seems to be an everyday refrain. These charlatans can steal till they bankrupt banks (two highly placed redeemed pastors come to mind), they can perform fake healings (all of them), they cannot cause the deaths of innocent children by calling them witches (you know who) and do all sorts of immoral and unlawful act, and all we say is "god will judge them." In the meantime, these socially useless creatures grow rich on the backs of their poor congregations. They live lives beyond the imagination of the vast majority of Nigerians. Some of them even have private jets. Yet, the bible, which they claim is the inerrant word of god says "it is easier for a camel to go through the eye of a needle than for a rich man to enter the kingdom of god." I guess the bible they use has been edited. And all we say is "god will judge them." I disagree. I do not want to wait for the fictional man in the sky. If people transgress now, they should be dealt with now. Besides, according to their beliefs, if they repent of their sins on their death beds and accept the lord, they would be forgiven - which means that they may even escape punishment. |
Check out this website www.whydoesgodhateamputees.com to see the limitations of miracle cures. It appears that there are groups of people who god cannot cure no matter how fervent their prayers. |
alexleo:Don't flatter yourself. Do you think I am trying to convert you? You are free to believe anything you wish. As far as the rapture is concerned, good luck. You will need lots of it, and a lot more. Just remember this, in spite of what you have been brainwashed to believe, prayers are never answered. Has anyone seen a mountain move? Yet this is what Jesus promised those who have faith. |
alexleo:Wait on. You will wait forever. This is one prayer (amongst all the other prayers) that will never be answered. Don't waste your time waiting the rapture (a nebulous concept at best), and get on with enjoying your life (if you know how to), it is the only one you have. |
davidylan:Difference is, I do not believe. I cannot pick and mix that which I do not believe in. God does not exist, the bible is not the inerrant word of god. |
Girl846:I knew that someone was going to come out with those passages. It takes a very vivid imagination to equate these passages with the rubbish being sprouted by the rapture crowd. |
Will someone please answer my question? WHERE IN THE BIBLE IS THE RAPTURE MENTIONED? Isn't this typical of the pick and mix approach to Christianity (and other religions) which is very pervasive these days. You take what you want and twist it to suit whatever nonsense you wish to disseminate, and ignore that which does not work for you. |
God didn't kill anyone, guys Fate took its course.
But he saved the survivors, didn't he?? I am sure that there is some logic there somewhere ![]() nuclearboy:Why didn't he target the real polluters of the environment in the western world? Why does he always target under developed countries God, Allah - they are both the same- claim to be omnipotent - turn out to be the greatest under-archivers of all times. Cannot do anything without human help. |
Fhemmmy:Get off your high horses and see the reality. "Touch not my anointed, " This old chestnut again. Who anointed him? Are they not human like the rest of us? Why have we elevated these morons to demi-gods? I guess god can do whatever he wants, but the rest of us are regularly enjoined not to seek vengeance. Double standards, me thinks. |
Girl846:Where exactly in the bible is the rapture mentioned? And, pray, what exactly are we supposed to be looking out for? Perilous times? Was there ever a time when we were not in perilous time? Rather than seek to alleviate the tension, people like you seek to exacerbate the problems. Rapture maniacs almost seem to delight in destruction, rape and pillage because these things appear to confirm their deluded beliefs. Is it pride to question stupid and irrational beliefs? I would rather devote my life to enquiry and rational thoughts as opposed to belief in the bearded man in the sky. |
Ahh !!! the rapture ! Remind me, where do I find that in the bible? As for the the end of times, are we still waiting for that? I thought it happened ages ago. Rather than think of how to improve their lot on earth, people are waiting for things that will never happen. There is nothing new under the sun. If you are looking for signs you will find them. The idea of random events presaging the end of the world would be laughable were it not for the fact that there are mad fundamentalist Christians who are willing to make it happen. LUNATICS. |
Zodiac61:I am good. I predicted an earthquake in a country before the end of the year. Guess what - there was an earthquake in Turkey. I predicted that houses will collapse, guess what - they did. I predicted that people would die - guess what, people died. How was I able to do this? Was it because of the special grace of god? Believe that and you would believe anything. It is a shame that we allow ourselves to be taken for a ride by charlatans like TB Joshua and the rest of them. (Put Pastor, bishop, evangelist etc in front of your name and claim to see the future and heal the sick and people will willingly suspend disbelief.) |
Zodiac61 and Kay17 or what ever is your name, please if you do have any better things to say, do get the Zap out of here. Who the hell are you guys to say that?
Another mindless slowpoke pretending to be his master's voice. I can say whatever I like without seeking permission from fools like you. |
Yeah right ![]() Did he name Chile? No he did not. Let me make a prediction - Be the end of the year, there will be an earthquake in a country. Houses will collapse, people will die, some people will be dug out of the rubble alive, and after the event, some slowpoke will come out and say that their GO or paster of whatever had prophesied that it would happen. Why didn't god prevent it from happening. He seems to delight in killing innocent people in far away countries so that Nigerian pastors can glorify his name. Strange, isn't it. |
You should go to the source website (www.jesus-is-lord.com) to see the kind of lunatics who exist in the religious world. Why anyone would even take anything on that site seriously defeats me. They do not watch TV. They do not listen to music (secular of Christian). The believe that babies can read the bible. They do not believe in education. Look at the site, there is more. ![]() |
Here we go again!!! Looking for hidden messages everywhere. If only we spent as much time time and energy trying to improve Nigeria, the country would be a better place to live in. The poster should get a life, if a game bothers him, he should not play it. A lot of good people derive more pleasure from games than from sermons from a lot of the satan-finding charlatans parading as pastors. |
FMK:According to a lot of the posters, he must be the standard by which evil is measured. 105 !!!!! stay away from him evil personified amongst us, These people should chill and enjoy life. ![]() |
Don't touch her. It is probably an integrity test. Touch her and you are in hock to she and her husband for the rest of your life. ![]() On second thoughts, give her what she wants. |
ikhideman:Another fiction peddled by the religious. Marriage existed before god. The has been a habit of the church appropriating social institutions as its own. Benny Hinn - Man of god !!! ![]() |
ilosiwaju:It would have been helpful if you did not use fictional characters, playful or not. the reality is that there is no evidence for your thesis, only wishful thinking. |
benodic:More meaningless mumbo jumbo. |
MyJoe:Why stop there? Once we have killed all non-Christians, homosexuals, and everyone who is different to us, then we start on each other. If you do not like speaking in tongues, kill all those who do. If you do not like T B Joshua, kill his followers. What about the Anglicans, the Catholics, the Jehovah Witnesses and so on? Shall we let them live? Who cares who you want to tolerate? Atheists do not need your permission to live. |
Assumptions, assumptions. What makes you think that Diana, MKO and Michael Jackson were good people? Diana was an adulterer. How did MKO make his money? Michael Jackson had his issues with alleged child abuse. Life is random, good people die young, evil people die young. Good people live long lives, evil people live long lives. There is no correlation between length of life and character. |
huxley:And fast for 60 days and nights. Maybe a miracle will happen. Good luck, Benny, you might just hold on to your ![]() |
e36991:Why don't you just get a life. Scrutinizing lyrics for blasphemy and quoting them out of context. What next? So what if the man disses Jesus? If Jesus is god, as you claim, surely he can fight his own battles. |
GODSON2009:Typical pentecostal, it is always the woman's fault. As if the man do not have any blame. |
