Mr. Bitumen who failed woefully as Lagos State Military Administrator and left much rot and corruption driven and poorly executed public roads and infrastructural projects as Osun State Governor should be quiet. No thanks to the bull in a China shop tongue of Chief Bisi Akande which allowed for Oyinlola to be Governor. Osogbo lost the opportunity to have the Government House close by the Oba Palace as planned by Chief Bisi Akande. Doubtful if it’ll be any longer. Folks who chased away the contractors from that site are paying with ignominious endings in life. |

ijawnews: Buhari Warns Against Promotion Of Ethnic And Religious Bias
President Muhammadu Buhari has warned Nigerians against promoting ethnic and religious prejudices so that the nation could witness rapid development.
The President, who gave the warning on Thursday while receiving in audience a delegation of the Nigerian Supreme Council for Islamic Affairs (NSCIA) led by its President-General and Sultan of Sokoto, His Eminence, Alhaji Muhammad Sa’ad Abubakar, however, gave an assurance that his administration will continue to create the enabling environment for religious freedom as guaranteed by the Nigerian Constitution.
President Buhari, in a statement issued at the end of the meeting by his Media Adviser, Femi Adesina, emphasized that the Federal Government under his leadership will not allow religious prejudice or partisanship to influence any of its decisions and policies.

The President assured the delegation that government was doing all within its powers to bring the current state of insecurity to the barest minimum, calling on the local community to assist the security forces as they perform their roles.
President Buhari also spoke on efforts being made by his administration towards making life better for the average Nigerian saying that his administration is diversifying the economy and putting appropriate mechanisms in place to reduce poverty and combat corruption, regardless of the status of those involved. Terribly clannish President speaking from the two sides of the mouth on his Janus face! |

seborrhic: His former ADC started as a lt.col, just six years as ADC without any combat experience or leading a formation, just carrying suitcase up and down for Buhari,he is set to become a brigadier General. Meanwhile there are several thousands stagnated in their ranks for several years, even with combat experience. What a load of tumfoolery You forgot to mention where he was before Lt.Col. Our soldiers are so well trained at the NDA it’s a battle experience on its own! |

BAT aspiration to The Presidency is a gross political miscalculation that is sure to undo and unhorse him politically. PMB must be looking at BAT in 4D wondering what flash of light blinded his sight to the obvious fact that PYO, in all the circumstances, remains the right foot forward. |

Jeferious: If you understand the intention behind this suggestion, especially as someone who is very conversant with the Nigerian way of doing things, you'd delete this your comment yourself.
For a start, ask yourself, what is the hope of the younger generation of adjudicators in attaining the height of SC justiceship if the older JSCs would now have more time than usual in the apex court? And what will be the fate of the concept of justice if left perpetually in the hands of aged men who may not be attuned with trends in vogue that would need a new interpretation of law other than what used to be? Consider the lifetime tenure of US SC Judges and how that has helped their Jurisprudence. Imagine Eso, JSC, Nnaemeka Agu, Oputa, Mohammed Bello and other outstanding JSC in office for life that would have saved our judicial system from the mess it is presently in. This is not about career advancement as it is about having a jurisprudence sound in procedural and substantive laws. |

Very good. For JSC who live up to that age it is an opportunity to contribute more to our jurisprudence. The older an erudite and incorruptible Judge lives and in service the better for Justice. |

Dansuqi: Sir,you disappoint me.that judgment is clear judicial rascality.the clearest part of the constitution is the part dealing with appointment. If the constitution wanted nass confirmation, it would have said so.you can see how ministers, ambassadors, cjns are sent to the senate for confirmation.this is not the case with service chiefs sir.no court judgment can override the provisions of the constitution except maybe the supreme court.buhari is right here Fine if that’s how you see it. However, you do not disappoint me simply because you did see the issue differently. |

Quite obvious that Buhari has scant regard for the Judiciary! His people are making excuses for him such as ..... the appointment is inchoate until the National Assembly meets confirm them! What is not legal is illegal. There is no halfway house in the matter!! The National Assembly is a terrible let down!! What is there to confirm! Even the restructuring matter fits and sits squarely on their laps but they can't see that! |

The Igbo are better off dropping this entitlement mentality that has become the bane of their lot in Nigeria. It has brought them no gain so far! When Ngozi was Min of Finance, Soludo was CBN Gov, George Obiozor NIIA Dg, et al they have selective amnesia. About time they flashed Prof. Nwabueze's picture leaning on Atiku as if his life and that of The Igbo depended on Abubakar Atiku. The Igbo sure deserve better than to be seen as an object of pity. |
