givedemwotowoto: Peter Obi represents a new type of leadership in Nigeria, the type you see in developed countries. You don’t see Presidential aspirants in America go about with large entourage
givedemwotowoto: Peter Obi Meets with former Presidents Ian Khama of Botswana and Thabo Mbeki of South Africa
More impact would have been had if he had prominent Igbo politicians and traditional leaders on his delegation. The truth is that it is the conduct of the Igbo that inflamed the xenophobic rhetoric of the South Africans. It is not a general immigration issue against Nigerians at large.
socialmediaman: Peter Obi has played at the national level since he was a young businessman as I highlighted on my post. He moves into action immediately and gets things done.
He was a member of the Presidential Economic Management Team during Goodluck Jonathan’s government, the only sitting governor and non PDP member. He was of the key people who strongly advocated and publicly defended the establishment of the Sovereign Wealth Fund in 2011 for the “Rainy Day”.
Peter Obi has always been a humble person, but a very strong and decisive leader you can’t push around.
Action speaks louder than perceived body language.
If you say so. Going forward we will see how it plays out. I wished Peter Obi had contested on the platform of PRP instead! NPC is a hard sell in the North compared with the PRP. For Peter Obi his political platform is not of strategic importance in the South as it in the North.
socialmediaman: How could you say having Kwankwaso damaged his political weight in the North when Northerners themselves were the ones that asked for the ticket?
Even Kwankwaso himself admitted that his daughter asked him to work with Peter Obi in 2023.
You’re making things up.
Listen to these chants below when Obi visited Kano
You must understand that Kwaks is on a mission to garner visibility in the South of Nigeria in aid of his future political ambitions to be President. By the way, what the daughter of Kwaks advised him do with Peter Obi is of petty political considerations if any. Research what ACF et al are saying about the matter. The North is presently focused on supporting a Southern fellow with sufficient political capital they can deploy to put in place a Northerner Presidency in 2031. Peter Obi does not have that. Tinubu does. He displayed that with Buhari. The only thing Peter Obi brings to the table is his promise to do only one term and that is of very little value considering that it is has become a political convention in Nigeria that the Presidency rotates between the North and the South. That is already a given. It sits on the table as we speak! Atiku plays the selfish politician on this matter. Deep inside him he knows what obtains. It would appear that the North will remain for Tinubu although I would rather see another southern take the job in 2027 because Tinubu has failed to deal with lack of electricity as he promised.
Kwaks should be speaking up for Peter Obi on this matter. That will be effective! Understandably Kwaks will demur at doing so to avoid being tarred as Kaffir by his Northern followers a large majority of whom see things from a religious perspective. That is quite unfortunate though!
socialmediaman: Peter Obi has played at the national level since he was a young businessman as I highlighted on my post. He moves into action immediately and gets things done.
He was honorary special adviser to Goodluck Jonathan on Finance, one of the key people who strongly advocated and publicly defended the establishment of the Sovereign Wealth Fund for the “Rainy Day”.
Peter Obi has always been a humble person, but a very strong and decisive leader you can’t push around.
I am talking about his play in the political space in Nigeria Nationally. He is clearly not trusted by the North. Having Kwaks as VP further damaged his political position in the North considering that the typical Northern is averse to a Northerner playing second fiddle to a politician of minion National showing like Peter Obi who is not a Muslim ( this is sad to see though). Peter Obi is best advised to contest and win a Senate seat and play well nationally to build political trust and show he can manage a political party on a national level and not an emotive movement that has no political force.
sammirano: Go and read about the Nigerian civil war and come back to me, Yoruba were more than Igbo in the north at the time, yet they reached their targets easily
Truth is, the typical Igbo outside his homeland does not live his life in quiet humility like his Yoruba, Hausa and Edo counterparts do. Such lifestyle engenders a feeling of distrust from their hosts especially when moves are made to install themselves as traditional chiefs in parts belonging to others. Most Igbo will vehemently challenge my optics on this matter but it doesn’t matter. Chinua Achebe a prominent Igbo and a global literary icon had this to say about The Igbo, his kith and kin -"There is no doubt at all that there is a strand in contemporary Igbo behaviour that can offend; by its noisy exhibitionism and disregard for humility and quietness."
socialmediaman: Critics often ask, "What are Peter Obi's achievements". While I believe this question is disingenuous because the evidence is everywhere out there, and Peter Obi has addressed this in multiple publicly available interviews with the press, I will address this once again as a reference post. Whenever someone asks the question, just show them this page.
Interesting read. He obviously has done well for himself and for his State. Now, it is a different kettle of fish to play at the National level where tact and forthrightness constitute a strong fort. Peter Obi is grossly in those areas which are key to running a country as diverse as Nigeria and successfully at that! He appears to be tactlessly desperate for the office and is sure to find himself in a bind as President if his desperation turns out to land him in office as Nigerian President. You need to close watch his body language and physical gestures at political gatherings and it should soon be obvious to the discerning that he lacks the boldness required to effectively hold his own in the political space.
KINGKONG: Because you are wealthy shouldn't make you splash it on your kids bro... Just ensure they have quality education and provide their basic needs and teach them the business and be prudent with spendings or else you will cry.
Because I'm wealthy my children should be driving Maybach? Nah it doesn't work that way.
If you check it, the son has been managing the fathers business in Abuja but lavishing it on drugs and women and probably the father had to put a stop it and probably that's what aggravated to this unfortunate situation.
Probably the father spoiled the kid from onset and later found out he was lavishing the money so fast and it was too late to put a stop to it.
Let's teach and train our kid properly so that they would not be responsible for our misfortune
If you have got good money give a child an Ivy League first degree- Oxford, Cambridge, Stanford, and thereafter Ife, ABU, Unilag, Unilag at Master’s level and later on LSE and the like. All things being equal that child should give you rest!
Freshtruth: Don't blame the young man some father's are wicked to their own my own father build 2 big hotels sold the 2 hotels for no reason mind u I was suffering badly as a son of a rich man if u no dey the family no blame the young man .
The ill-bred see life this way! Dangote, Ote$, E.C. Iwuanyanwu, Engr. Izuogu et al were not brought up that way.
Goke7: The kind of friends children keep is also important especially when they have wealthy parents. The boy is just a product of bad influence from peers who would have lied to him how he’s dulling himself with the kind of money his father has.
This is why wealthy people also influence the kind of friends their children keep and ensure they maintain an isolated circle of friends from their own social class!
It is also important to train your children to be studious and read up on world history and world affairs. Enrol and take them along with you to Libraries where they can read up on life matters. Encourage them to see Documentaries and the likes. Also great idea to keep unproductive music out of your home from when they small. For example, what is the music of Davido, Burn-a-boy, Portable and the likes doing in your home as your children grow up 🧐. Children become what they see, listen to and read up on!
freezze: He would not depart from it if HE DOESN'T WANT TO.
The point is that all things being equal spiritually he will not want to depart from the training the scriptures talk about. Many things go into the training. For example if you tell a child to not club and that is your pastime as a Father you can be sure that one of these days you will share the same dance floor with him!
Eba50: That idiot now won't have a penny from his dad. He will eat watery beans, by the time he comes out, in his later years, not even a drop is kept for him. His siblings will immediately disown him. His mum will be warming up for madam billionaire identity after his burial. In one month, he will be forgotten in the sands of history by her. While she takes over his billions
I think he was doing the right, scolding the boy for behaving badly and for keeping late nights, at the wrong time.
A boy that came home probably drunk, and overdose on drugs shouldn't be confronted at all. He could have dealt with him when the toxic stuff in his body system don calm...probably by evening the next day.
We all need to be sensitive, and be emotionally aware.
May the soul of the father find rest. 🙏
The boy should be tested for alcohol, substances and tried for murder. He should be prosecuted by the full weight of the law.
Just thank God that you did not have to deal with that in your home. It is easier said than done. A man who works hard for others and the society is understandably concerned about his own children and family and their future. I hope the mother is one with the father in cautioning the young man. Catastrophes are usual where the mother does not support the rebuke of the father.
JaidoOmojesu: Train up a child in the way he should go: and when he is old, he will not depart from it” (Proverbs 22:6).
Very wise and instructive. The training starts from the cradle. Both parents have a responsibility to train the child and much more the mother. A mother spends more time with the child.
dododawa1: Condemnations have continued to trail Friday’s bandits’ attack on three schools in Oriire Local Government Area of Oyo State, where about 30 students and teachers were kidnapped, while two persons were killed.
Yet, Nigeria union of teacher's are silence about the killing.
kedeojo: That was a combination of pride and political miscalculation. obasanjo was serving southern turn of eight years and because of pride of been a popular governor back then he rejected VP slot. He would have govern far better than Jonathan. calabar municipal witness pipe borne water running from tap. very clean and specially treated. calabar was arguably the most beautiful capital and offering rich tourism. Tinapa was a behold but those stupid successive governors expecially Imoke killed it. He would have replicate that in Nigeria. I enjoyed my one year service there.
Pride goeth before a fall! Thanks to God Duke said a no! Duke would have caved in to Obama and his evil LGBTQ+ he made a condition for helping Nigeria militarily!
ATEAMS: no be small thing..we may start our own here ...
We will be shooting ourselves in the foot my friend. Can we run MTN properly? Except the honest few amongst us make their way there. Even at that the largely corrupt lot will bay for their blood to no end!
Like we are today with all the corruption Nigerians cannot run MTN and provide the semblance of a nice telecommunication network we currently have courtesy of the MTN Group based in South Africa. Only Dangote can tell you how much of corruption he daily fends off to run the oil refinery that presently makes fuel available for Nigerians. He has to fight off folks who want to keep importing fuel into Nigeria when we have capacity in house!
fergie001: Former Cross River State Governor Donald Duke, Engr Yakubu Mohammed Kingsley (Edo State) and Dr Nnaoke Ufere (Abia State) have been cleared for the May 25 PRP Presidential Primary.
The National leadership held that there will be a meeting to reach consensus but if it fails, the Party will proceed with a fair, competitive and transparent Primary.
Say a big no to Donald Duke a man who is poised to provide a leverage for homosexuals and lesbians. Check what he has had to say on same sex marriage and the likes.
ReturnMan: Your kinds that always drag Nigeria Backwards
It is in the public space how well Peter Obi has moved Nigeria forward starting from his days in APGA when he swore to Dim Emeka Ojukwu to stay in APGA to his abandonment of the Labour Party when it had issues he should have resolved as a National Leader of the Labour Party. He fled! Truth is, Peter Obi is a political hyena! He lives off the political kills of others!!!
Racoon: Same govt that promised citizens constant electricity but failed. What an utter failure of a government. No wonder Tinubu govt shamelessly moved to solar panel in Aso Rock. No Bayo Adelabu exported his failure to Oyo state.
