Here is what i think.

It will be better to apply when you have enrolled for the next DLI which will enable you get PGWP because as a VO, if you apply for SOWP in a DLI that I know will not get you PGWP, I will doubt your intention, knowing that you are expected to go home after the program, so why bring in your spouse. But in a DLI which allows you get the PGWP, Having your spouse around will make sense because of the additional time you are eligible for upon applying for the PGWP.

Just my thoughts o! let's wait for the gurus to weigh on it.
Exactly my thoughts. Thanks bro.

Good evening all. If I am studying in a dli not eligible for pgwp( I intend to change dli to one eligible for pgwp or finish my current program and enter another program eligible for pgwp), when is the best time to apply for SOWP for my spouse and kids??

Can I apply for them now even with my current school(dli not eligible for pgwp)

Hi all,
Please i need your help.
My spouse applied for SOWP Oct 29th 2022 and biometrics was done and uploaded November 4th 2022. He got refused March 6th 2023 with the following reasons: (please check image) i didnt upload my enrollment student letter or bank statements(my big mistake)
We decided to wait as my study permit expires July 31 2023 and i applied for extension since Jan 6th 2023.(in hopes i received an extension early as i know the SOWP is dependant on my study permit)
However we are thinking of reapplying again before july 31st for another SOWP or a visitor visa
My mum will also be a sponsor to show POF

We are hoping to apply with my current study permit and the letter i received stating that my study permit extension is still in process. My visitor visa is not expiring till December 2024

Please can you advise as i may be on implied status soon.
Can someone pls explain what they mean by "you do not qualify under the IMP as your spouse is not enrolled In a qualifying program at a DLI in canada?

Please help me with this question: if I apply for my study permit using my husband and kids as home ties and I get the permit, can I apply for my husband and kids before traveling to Canada so we can go together??
Yes but you will really need to convince the VO why you now want to immediately travel with your family you used initially as home ties.

Good evening all,

Please I am new here and need some assistance.

1. Which schools can I apply to in Canada that does not require IELTS, I have second class (upper division) in criminology

2. Can I go together with my husband, we can provide enough POF besides tuition, do we also need sponsorship?

3. We both have properties in Lokoja and FCT, will this be enough as home ties? He's 35 and I am 28

Thank you
1. Use this link to search for courses. Considering your ages, whoever is the Primary applicant, you have to consider a course related to what you are currently doing either as business owner or employed worker. When you find a suitable course then you can check if they require ielts but your best best will be post secondary diploma courses in colleges.

https://www.coursecompare.ca/

2. Yes you can go with him if you have enough Proof of funds and can show enough home/economic ties.

3. You will probably need more than that. Economic ties such as your job/business.

I had earlier considered Egypt Air and Ethiopian Airlines too but finally opted for Lufthansa about a week ago for about 1478 USD. Unlike Egypt and Ethiopian Air which has about 3 stop overs Lufthansa only has just 1 which is far better.
Not true for all flights. The Egyptair flight I booked has just one stop over in Cairo with a layover period of 4hours 20mins.
Let him check egyptair if he doesn't mind. But I will advise he calls customer care and ask any question he has before booking it.

Hello people,

Has anyone heard or be in situation before? After PPR and Student visa has been given for a 1 year course, the school wrote that they have insufficient space in the program and now transferred the applicant to a new program which is a 2-year course. They issued him new LOA and payment receipt. He paid full fee for the 1-year program and the school transfer this for payment of 1st year of the 2-year program

How would this situation be explained at the POE? Will he be given 1-year study permit or 2-year. It's not a common situation and be great if anyone can share advice or experience.
I haven't personally experienced this but watched something similar on YouTube.
Basically, if you are concerned, why not ask the school on what to do. Ideally, you ought to change program or dli only when you have entered Canada. If you change before entering, then it's expected you inform ircc and you would have to apply for a new study permit. Now they are giving a 2 years course, it means the new application require a double proof of fund for living expenses and additional 1 year tuition fees.

From my understanding, you might have to contact Irrc, inform them of the development then they will advise you on what to do. You will likely have issues with immigration at POE if you enter there with a different LOA from the one used to issue you the permit.

My advise: write to the school and tell them you want to enter Canada with the initial LOA and change program when you are inside Canada. With this, you simply inform ircc by going to your portal and update change of program then later apply for study permit extension.

If you are going to Canada for Fall 2023. Please are you getting your plane ticket? The prices are not smiling.

Egypt Air seems to be the cheapest right now. But someone said that you will be required to buy the round trip, how true is this information?

What platforms have you used so far for flight purchases, I checked throughout the night surfing for cheap flights. The ones that I found in transit are in the US, and I do not have a US visa, so it is a no-go area.

And I want to say this, if you have received your visa, please don't wait till ooo. Flight tickets are skyrocketing every day.
Why would Egyptair force you to buy round-trip when legally you don't need it. Who gave you such information?
Why not call egyptair customer care and confirm yourself. To the best of my knowledge, they don't request that.

Good morning house. Please I have a question concerning applying for Diploma courses in a college in Canada.
Diploma courses are just one year programs, and the basi requirement is a WAEC result and original WAEC certificate. For someone who already has a Bsc, do you think it makes sense to add my BSc information in the statement of purpose?

Will it be much easier to just present one's application as someone who just has a WAEC certificate, and not complicate it by adding information about higher degrees that have been obtained? Won't the VO start asking why the person is downgrading to a Diploma after getting a Bachelor's?

Also, due to the fact that the Diploma is in a different field from my BSc, will it be better to just leave out the fact that I even have any BSc degree totally? Will the VO wonder why a person who is in their late 20s for instance doesn't have any BSc degree yet (assuming I leave out that information).

In summary, I'm just looking for a way to arrange my application to increase the chances of an approval because the 1 year Diploma I applied for is so different from my first degree course and I'm quite worried because I heard that the highest reason for refusals is the fact that one is going to study something else entirely different from their initial course.

I will really appreciate tips from everyone, and if you have a personal experience of this situation, it would even be much better. If you'd prefer to contact me privately, kindly email me via teacherfrancisca2021@gmail.com and I'll take it from there. Thank you so much in advance! 😢

Good day, I want to start my study visa application and I’ll like to know what my chances are if apply as self sponsor or I use my uncle company for sponsorship. Thanks
If you have been employed or business owner for a while, then it makes sense being atleast sponsoring yourself as a co sponsor. Using your uncle company will not be easy. Proving relationship with him is already a huge task let alone adding him using his company acct.

Good day bro,pls i want get a clarification from you concernin the yellow paper being given at VFS,curs my study permit is still on while my visit visa as just being granted so i want to go for the visit visa stamping first before the study Permit, so i want to know how am going to go about the yellow paper which is only one with me and they are going to collect it,so how am i going to go about it,when am going for my study permit, pls kindly explain what to do pls.
I was told to pay 9,930 or so when I went to submit for study permit after they had collected it for visit visa submission. Infact the Lady told me for every subsequent new application you want to submit passport for, you will pay the 9,930.

But if you haven't submitted it yet for visit visa, make a photocopy of that yellow slip though I doubt it would change anything from what the lady told me.

What about a personal account being used for business. Is there any negatives?

Is it advisable to travel with spouse/dependents first time? Or travel without and they can join subsequently.
No. Ppl with business accts are also allowed to use personal accts. I used my personal accts despite sponsoring myself as a business owner. So it's not a negative instead makes a strong case that the money available in that account wud indeed be available for your studies as it cud be assumed the business money will be in business acct.

Ohk. If your mum can do avidavit to show change of name from her father's surname to your dad's surname name will also help. Generate a new SOA with a date close to date of submission of new application. Ofcourse you will use a new SOP to address the concerns of the VO. I expect you to order your notes first to understand the exact concern of the VO before reapplying sp you tackle them properly

• I am not satisfied that you will leave Canada at the end of your stay as required by
paragraph R216(1)(b) of the IRPR (https://laws-lois.justice.gc.ca/eng/regulations/sor-2002-227/
section-216.html). I am refusing your application because you have not established that you will
leave Canada, based on the following factors:

• Your assets and financial situation are insufficient to support the stated purpose of travel
for yourself (and any accompanying family member(s), if applicable).

That was the reason stated. I have in my own personal bank account 3.7m as closing balance and the account has been running well because my dad customers do pay there most times and that was stated in my SOP as well. Apart from my uncle (Sponsor) bank account with 80m closing balance.

Thanks.
Are you employed or self employed?
If self employed, why not continue to run that your acct and build it to a closing balance of say 6million. You can even get a sibling of yours to do gift deed for you to make up that 6million and state in your sop that your sponsor is to cover your tuition 100% while you cover your living expenses and other miscellaneous.
Also ensure to explain any lump sum in your own SOA.

As for your sponsor, you will need to explain lump sums there as well, and prove relationship as I stated above. Also do a notarized sponsorship letter stating he is covering 100% tuition.

Thank you! My maternal uncle is my sponsor , My father has a mechanical workshop I use that as home-tie because I work there presently since i finish my NYSC in march. I stated all that in my SOP as well.
It's always difficult proving relationship with sponsor if the person isn't your sibling or parents or spouse cos the VOs will ask why would someone be willing to expend millions of naira on your education?

You can help your case if you can provide the following.
Do you have pics of yourself with your uncle?
Do you have his brith certificate and that of your mum? Then you also add yours and merge all.
Do you have evidence of previous commitments he has shown you? Like past occasions he has sent or dashed you money? Receipts of transfers, screenshots of previous chats showing stuffs like this?
If you have pictures of your uncle and mum will also help.
Note: I am assuming your sponsor is your mum's brother.

Goodluck

Should the sponsor's account be personal or business??
Personal acct to be on safe side. We have seen ppl visa rejected cos VO wasn't satisfied the money in the acct will be readily available for studies as they cudnt differentiate the money used to run the business from money meant for the studies

That doesn’t apply to everyone ok. Some people have good social status and are financially stable. Immigration aren’t tough on them ok. I know exactly what I’m saying. Not everyone is trying to japa or looks suspicious
Lol. The law is the law. Nothing like social status. Once you are on a visit visa, you only stay 6 months straight. Only on special unique cases you apply for extention beyond the 6months and your case will be treated to see if you have legit reasons to stay beyond 6 months on a visit visa

@zubizareta thank you for your expantiation:

I think I may be able to make @Bamz555 understand better.

@Bamz555
I will tell you here with 100% confidence that irrespective of your financial or social status, you cannot stay for more than six months at once on a visitor visa without becoming illegal.

If you want to dispute this, kindly name one person with evidence who has successfully stayed beyond 6 months at one visit on visitor visa without being declared illegal.

@Bamz555
I need to make you understand how visitor visa works. If you apply for a visitor visa, you will be issued a 2-year or 5-year visa: during this 5 years, you can only stay for 6 months at one visit and go back to your country or elsewhere, you must wait for another 6 months outside of Canada before you can visit again to spend another six months.

If you maintain good use of the visa without abuse and after five years when the visa must have expired, you will be issued 10 year visa on reapplication. This is how you will be coming to spend 6 months at a time until you exhaust the 10 years.

This is how it is for the US visitor visa too.

People do get Canada visitor visa and a visitor visa in the US, the UK or Europe; when they stay for 6 months in Canada, they will travel to either the US, the UK or Europe to spend another six months. This is how they will be shuttling it which will make them seem they don't come back to Nigeria at all.

Your aunt had once got 5 years visitor visa and she has been abiding by the conditions of the visa, this is why she got another 10 years. You may want to ask your Aunt how she does it for better understanding.

Another possibility is your aunt may not even be on visitor visa when you are thinking she is still operating on a visitor visa.

I hope you understand.
I want to correct the place you mentioned the length of visit visa issued. Visit visa is simply issued according to the validity of your biometrics and your passport. Even if you are a first time applicant, once you have a biometrics validity of 10 years and a 10 years passport, if your visa is approved, you will get the 10 years. It's simple. If you have a passport validity of 10 years and biometrics validity of 1 year, your visit visa will be for 1 year.

Bro you don't even understand what he is talking about. He is saying when you enter Canada with a visit or tourist visa, you can't stay beyond 6 months stretch. You have to leave the country and come back later. Infact if you stay 6 months exactly and return back less than a year, you will be seriously scrutinized at the point of entry on your mission.
