Please I noticed no one has mentioned cancollege, I got an offer with them.
Please is it not a good school for international students?
They don't offer programs eligible for pgwp.

I stumbled into NBCC facebook group... And I'm seeing people whose classes are to start in September saying they're entering Canada this June.

I've also seen someone for Centennial College on this NL Forum whose classes is starting September, saying he is travelling in 2weeks time.

I no longer understand.

Please oooo... Can I enter Canada two to three months ahead and start working?
Cos no be only una Naija don taya... Me sef too, Naija don taya me😩😩😩
You can enter 2 months before as you said but just know you aren't allowed to work. You can only work when you are enrolled as a student and your program has begun.
Also be ready to explain to immigration at the airport and present pof you intend to use for living expenses while you wait for September to come around though some students don't get to be questioned at POE

Please if you are self sponsored and you have ur living expenses in ur account. Your brother paid your school fees in full…so u need to declare how u got the funds to pay ur fees? Or as long as u pay the fees it doesn’t matter?
The reason why we explain source of fund is to be sure the money would be available for the study. Since the school fees has been paid, no need for explaining the source.

advice?

it is a one-year course and id be sponsoring my common-law partner. so its 3 of us but I think she should go alone first and we can join later. what do you advice?
To increase your chances, she can go alone and use you and the kid as home ties.
The 8m is very much enough since school fees has been paid. It would have even been probably enough for 3 of you if you decided to go along as well.

Hi, is 8.5million too little for proof of funds if the school fee has been fully paid?
Even for a 2 years course, this should be fine for living expenses alone.

Good morning Great family,

Please I need ur advice mostly those with experience on this path.

I had an admission in Ontario. In which I want to set up a business account for business now and my job as a salary earner continue as a source of fund with some other assest.
But I spoke to a friend yesterday and he suggested that he can be a sponsor towards this trip..
My first challenge is we are not family.
Secondly, he has never sponsor me for anything in the past.
Thirdly, he is just a younger brother to my childhood friend.
Lastly, he is advising that I should come with my family.
Note he is not paying my tuition fee. But ready to drop his account and as a citizen with necessary supporting document for my stay in Canada.

Which advice will u give.
Should I do self sponsor jeje has planned before or follow is advices as sponsorship?

Secondly if sponsorship is the best what are the things he need to do so I won't be rejected?
Do your self sponsorship. You will struggle to prove relationship with sponsor as you said you don't even have any proof of previous commitments to you

What about this part , isn’t necessary right ?
Think it's him failing to prove relationship with his brother that made his financial asset insufficient since his brother was the sponsor. So VO thinks the sponsorship from brother is for demonstrative purposes

Good day everyone. I have few questions to ask again.

my letter of explanation is 7 pages excluding proof such as certificates and other document.

Is it okay?

If I add all my proof documents below the letter as explained and referred from the letter above, I feel like everything will be up to 30 pages.

Is it okay?

Please kindly give suggestions If I am on the wrong path?
Nothing wrong. Go ahead and submit

Upfront medical? What exactly are you expecting to hear from them? Instead you will be hoping Ircc contacts them for your medical result. Hope you have sent your medical sheet to ircc.??
Except you aren't referring to upfront medical

In the previous application I didn't add birth certificate or attestationof birth of my sponsor, I added just his international passport in the last application. I didn't add notarized affidavit of relationship,I didn't add a notarized gift deed document , I didn'tadd recent pic of my brother(sponsor) and I and lastly I didn't add any proof of financial assistance in the past.. All these i added now as I plan to submit the application in few days for September intake.. I have a strong feeling that I will get my visa approved this time cos I dotted all the i's and crossed all the T's and I also quoted the gcms reason the immigration officer gave AND I did a LOE to list the new documents and pictures added to tackle the previous refusal..
Ohk. You have done all the needful. You should be fine now. Goodluck

Dessymond394:
Thanks..
I did notarized sponsorship letter in the last application. I added my brother attestation of birth/ age declaration(in place of his birth certificate, cos his birth certificate was missing) added a recent pic of both of us, he paid 11500cad for school fee deposit already as at the Last application and I added a notarized gift deed, 2 transfer proof of 400k each to me in the past as past evidence of financial assistance and a notarized affidavit of relationship... I guess m good to go..
I am confused. You did all you listed above in your previous application and was still refused or you are listing what you plan to do and reapply.

Reapply with a proper LOE, sometimes the VOs could miss out things. Attach everything concerning your brother from notarized sponsorship letter to previous commitments, pictures, birth certificates of both of u, etc attach them and upload both to the POF section as well as the client information section just incase the VO dey sleep.

Hello guys
What is the best way to tackle this refusal reason from GCMS note..
I need various answers.
Urgent replys needed.
Your case is simple and straightforward. You didn't show enough proof of relationship with your brother.
Submit your brother and your own birth certificates.
Attach pictures btw you and your brother.
If there are evidences to show previous commitments from your brother gifting you money, attach receipts as much as you can.
Notarize the sponsorship letter.
If your brother can make a deposit of your tuition and attach receipt and evidence trail to show the payment was made by him that will even strengthen your case further in your next application. However, you can still go ahead with the last point. Just ensure the other points earlier stated are addressed.

Hello house please want to know the purpose of these 2 phases in the student visa application: Eligibility and Background verification. Also, what does it mean if you have Background verification in progress and Eligibility Not started for 3 weeks and today Eligibility is in progress
Sometimes they update these stuffs late. A decision could have been made and progressed to medical stage and your info will still be reading background check in progress and Eligibility not started

I'm waiting PPR to drop for my visitor visa since 2021, gotten Bvl on April 29 2023 and visa number on tracker since May1 2023.

Now I wanted to submit application for my study permit this month, I hope it won't affect my visitor application? Can I apply with the same portal I used for my visitor visa or can I open another email and new portal?

Lastly is it the same UCI I used for visitor application that I will use for study permit?

Please advise me !!!! big bro & and big sis in the house
Had same experience with you. Was waiting for my visit Visa approval and I submitted my study permit application.
So answers are:
1. No it wouldn't affect. Submit with same portal for any application you ever want to do as long as it's Canada

2. Yes it's same UCI. Actually I wasn't sure so I didn't fill any UCI for my second application but when the application was submitted, I realized it was same UCI

I am saying you have probably passed eligibility and background checks for them to have requested for your medical results. Still send mail to them though I agree with what someone said earlier that they already have your medical result from iom. The urgent mail will only probably try to hasten them as a reminder

Hi Guys.

I did an upfront medicals and submitted with my application . Yet, I got a medical request to go and do medicals. I have re-upload the medical sheet and my medical status has been showing ‘in progress’ since then. It’s about a week now.

Do I need to go and request for my result from IOM in person because I have sent mails to confirm if they uploaded my results but I didn’t get any response.

Please advise.
Go to their office, your presence will bring out a response on if they have sent the result to irrc. They will not give you your result in person

Hey guys,

Please anyone here used the new portal to apply and got a decision faster?

Submitted 29 April
Biometric updated 8th May
Upfront Medical passed 22th May
Background check running since 29th April
Eligibility Review: Not started at all.
Send them mails with URGENT on the subject. I doubt they will bother checking your medical if they have issue with your eligibility and background check.

Hello Everyone, please can I used the Normal Bank statement to apply for study Visa using the new IRCC portal or is it compulsory I used my bank statement?
You can use your online bank statement. However if your SOA will be bulky especially as you plan to use the new portal, then go for the MBS.

Oh I understand you better now.. I thought you were referring to the first amount of money you used in creating the bank account... I see that you are referring to the transaction balance shown for first day on your statement of account for visa application and not the amount you used in creating/opening your bank account...the account am about to use has less than 1k used in creating the bank account, the account has been very active for years.. I plan on using 4months statement, so the first transaction amount on the bank statement is what you are referring to.. my sponsor starting balance for feb was about 350k so am covered that is what you were trying to explain right?..
Yes. I was referring to the amount shown on the first day of the SOA you generated.
TravelRe: Canadian Student Visa Thread Part 22 by zubizareta(m): 3:58pm On Jun 01, 2023
Dessymond394:
Ok.. so what do you do if your sponsor opening balance is low.my brother opening balance is low less than 1k cos he opened the account many years ago while he was still in the university...so what do you think can be done?
Build the acct. And give plausible explanations of lump sum. I am not saying every low opening balance leads to refusals, just saying some VO in the past have cited it as a red flag.

What u did was I built my acct for 2 months plus. The first sum I received was 300k on Feb 15th, so I generated my SOA from Feb 16th. So opening balance was 310k. Then I allowed daily cash inflow and outflows apart from other lump sums that entered which I also explained in details with proofs of receipts.

Hello everyone, please I really need your advises on this application.

I applied for study visa 4days ago so yesterday I discovered that we are not supposed to use the online bank statement instead we should request the official bank statement with reference letter from the bank and also noticed we made mistakes in some places

So requested the application to be withdrawn yesterday which will take 28days to be processed.

Now we already got the official bank statement with stamps and reference letter from bank, so now my questions is can I submit a new application while the previous one is still processing to be withdrawn.

🫠🫠
Why didn't you ask this question before withdrawing your application? You just trying to complicate your application. Wait for it to be withdrawn before applying as applying now will just end up delaying processing of both.

You shouldn't have withdrawn your application because many ppl including me have used online generated SOA from mobile apps without any official stamp or reference letter and still get ppr.

Does opening balance really matter? I don't think so. Someone may have opened a bank account long time ago with even 1k but in a space of 4 month or even less, transaction of million can start entering the bank account..if the source of the funds can be proven if the owner of the account is into a business that's worth the millions coming in..my elder brother opening account balance is 1k cos he opened the account while he was still in the university now the account is worth millions.. under 4 months that same account read above 10m cos he owns a constructing company and also a lecturer in the UK now. I think proving the source of funds is what Is important and good closing balance and not the opening balance.. you can oppose with good reason if you think am wrong
Opening balance also matters. We have seen refusal notes posted here where VOs pointed out on low opening balance as one of reasons of rejection.
Ofcourse you will explain lump sums and all that but if you can avoid low opening balance it will help your case. VOs differ, you never can tell the one you will meet handling your application

Pls how and when is it advisable for the husband and children to apply for their own visas.

And what should they use as home ties?

Thank you
Its usually better to apply when the primary applicant is in Canada already.
You can use your job or business as home ties.
