CuriousGeorge:
Please I need someone to explain this proof of funds for me as a very lame man.Let’s say I get my admission in June and I begin visa application process in July and I submit my statement of account.Does the statement of account have to reflect the past 5months or what they need is how much is in that account for that month am applying for.
Please I need someone explain to me it’s really causing issues for me
Proof of funds:
From my experience, period of acct statement generated doesn't matter much as long as you can follow these guidelines. 3 months is okay sef. Though the recommended duration is 4 months minimum as stated on ircc website.

Ensure your opening balance isn't so low and suddenly you have a high closing balance of millions. Vo might see it as demonstrate purposes.

If any lump sums, explain them in details.
Allow other inflow and outflow to happen in that acct apart from the lump sums.
That opening and closing balance difference is very important.
So if you are planning to submit your application say by July, you ought to have built your acct starting from April atleast with a healthy opening balance. So by July, that would be 3 months duration. I submitted mine with a duration of just 2 months and 2 weeks.

In my previous application, I submitted just my brother international passport.. but for this current application...I added his attestation of birth and age declaration and also recent pic of both of us( could not find any childhood picture of us)
And for the commitment part, I added a gift deed , I think I should add one or two money transaction he has assisted me with in the past,
And please, what is your take concerning the different bank statement used in the previous application and this current application..first application was fedility bank with 15m, this current application is his GT account with 13m
The change in acct used doesn't matter. Your focus should be on convincing the vo on your relationship with your bro. But I think you have done enough from all you stated here. Notorize the gift deed if possible. Also in your sop, state the fact how he has previously shown commitments to your welfare in the past. Attach as many receipts of transactions as you can.

Hello everyone
Please do i need to show my sister’s employment letter as she is gifting me money for my POF and about to notarize a gift deed
But she cant find her employment letter and no pay stub.

Can i just submit the gift deed or is employment letter needed?
How much is she sending? If it's significantly much, then you might have to show it.

Your calculation is correct, but to make it scenario based, for living expenses, $10,000 is for the main applicant, $4,000 is for the spouse and $3,000 for each dependent child per year.

https://www.canada.ca/en/immigration-refugees-citizenship/services/study-canada/study-permit/get-documents.html

More accurately, in a situation where only the applicant will be schooling and the spouse will be a dependant, total funds needed is;

Tuition fee : $15,000.
Living Expenses $10,000/yr for the applicant
Living Expenses: $4000/yr for the spouse.
Miscellaneous Expenses $3,000+
(If a dependent child is included additional $3,000 will be required)

Total $32,000. ( NGN 11,008,000 @ official CBN rate of $1/344)

I would show around 11.5m to compensate for foreign exchange fluctuation and other miscellaneous expenses.
I was referring to his spouse as first dependant though as he only mentioned himself and his wife.

Hope4Naja:
are you sure N15M is enough for two. living expenses for one person is 10,000 and for two is 20000. If tuition is 15000 per one, that is 30000 for two. total 50000 CAD. my own view
You can't calculate living expenses 10k for each of them. Are they planing to stay in separate apartments? Remember it's based on assumption he gets a 1 year program and tuition of about 15k which he can easily find.
For PA.
Tuition average of 15k for a year.
Living expenses 11,000
Miscellaneous 4,000
First dependant 5,000(ideally should be 4,000 cad)
Total= 35,000

In naira that's about 12,000,000 using rate of 344

So glad, God bless you so much.

As for home ties, please how do I convince the VOs if we are applying together at a time
Or after getting her visa, can I apply immediately after?

Please, it's just on how to increase chances of securing the visa because I don't know what to make use as home ties if we both apply at once.

God bless you
Then apply alone and once yours is out, you apply for her. If you really don't have much to use as home ties, then this is an option.
You can use your thriving business or jobs and hype them up properly so the vo can see them as being worth coming back to after the studies

Thank you so much I appreciate,I'm somehow relieved.
After PGD I hope the M.A can get a year Post Working Permit?(that is to be able to work after the 1 year programme). As we don't plan coming back to Nigeria

Please can you help me with better provinces where there are jobs and more opportunities, so I can start my searching for school within and also if you have a better schools I can target.

What amount can I assume will sort all this please? Aside (POF I budgeted 15million naira for 2,can that sort it?)
Just ensure you pick a school that offers programs eligible for pgwp. Only then will you get pgwp after studying.
15million for 2 should be enough if you go for a 1 year program and target school with average tuition of 15,000cad annually.

Please kindly help a brother🙏

1. Can my maternal uncle be my sponsor even though we don’t bear the same surname ?
2. If yes which document is required to prove relationship?
1. Yes
2. Notorized Sponsorship letter;, this should be supported with proof to show what he does either employment letter and payslips or can certificate registration, receipts and invoices if business owner.
Lump sums in his accts shud be explained as well.
His statement of acct
If possible his birthday certificate and that of your mum if they are siblings.
Also pictures of u and him together will help.

you wud make a stronger case for yourself if you can show evidence of previous commitments he has shown to you. If he can even make a tuition deposit, this will also be helpful.
There is also option of transferring some money if possible to you and do a gift deed.

If you are working or run your business, then it's wide he acts as a co sponsor. So VO wudnt refuse u because of lack of economic ties in Nigeria.

Good afternoon bosses. I have been reading all through but I must say, I get confused the more. I need people to come to my aide and proffer a solution

My Fiancee and I are HND graduates, we are planning to marry this year and at the same time travel out to Canada through study route.
I have a small business I'm doing and also an external lecturer but my babe has a small business also. We both have our Passport ready. My questions are:
Note: Ikr,that I have to start by searching for schools but still I'm confused.

1) Does PGD allows for dependant or what degree can she pursue as the M.A?
2) Can we both travel out at the same time if she applies as the M.A and I serve as Dependant?
3) Do I need an agent to run this?
4) As for POF please, we are borrowing from this POF agents, but please how do we run the POF if we want to apply?
(5) Marrying and then applying I hope it won't affect our chances please? Or do we need to back-date the certificate and if we have to do that, she has her family name on her passport, won't that cause issues? (We have been together for more than 7 years).
)) What do I need to know please.

Please help me out,we planned for UK before but this UK no dependant problem.
1. Yes
2. Yes
3. No. You can do it yourself and get all the info here to guide you
4. How long do you want the proof of funds to be there before you apply. If it can be there for period of 4 months then you can generate your SOA in a way your opening balance will be close to your closing balance.
But you will have to explain in your sop what you do to have such huge sum of money.
5. You don't need to backdate anything. Get married and back it up with wedding pictures. Since you have been together for long, you can add previous pics of years back.
Since passport is bearing her name, let her do change of avidavit and news paper publication

Please help ooo 🙏🙏🙏. This is my 2nd application and I am applying as a self sponsored. Though my mum is 100% responsible for the funds and a deed of gift have made in effect to the funds sent to me. Part tuition already paid and all balance tuition and living expenses for one year is with me plus extra funds.

The company where I am working, it's a very small place so we are paid in cash (70k) and no pay slips and I have been working there since 2015.

However I have a business I run on the side... Sales of local ovens and cake baking and I have receipts of sales of the ovens and a CAC registration certificate.

My question is, as I don't have payslips and no bank evidence of salary payment, will this be an issue?

Someone Please respond 🙏
I read your previous refusal notes.
The major fault you had was your SOP and I also hope you addressed it with current SOP you are working on?
The VO then wasn't satisfied with your home economical ties hence felt there was no justification you embarking on such study and had doubts you would leave Canada.
In this your new SOP, you have to hype this your new business. Submit as much receipts and invoices to show the business is thriving and you would need to return to expand it once you are done.
Also I am already seeing some red flags in your current application. Your mum 100% sponsoring you with a gift deed might not be a good thing for someone that has claimed to be working and have a business.
Can your mum be a cosponsor then she can do some gify deed to you and not that 100% full sponsorship with a gift deed. and try to build your acct to show income flow. With this, vo can be convinced you have reason to leave Canada and return back to your business since your job is of low value as you have stated here. You need to seriously convince the VO that you have something worthwhile waiting for you back home in Nigeria and you can't wait to finish the study and return home to meet better opportunities that awaits you in Nigeria.

Someone said the money must have been in my account for like 6 months?
Or do I just pay into hubbys account and use him as a sponsor, (he isn’t going with us yet) ?

Do I just put in the money and then explain? I already have a 6months salary account running,

Secondly how do I apply for a child who is an American citizen,?

That's a heavy lump sum you are about to drop inside your acct. You must explain it and back It up with documents whether you or your hubby is the sponsor.

Sponsor is my Sibling.
Ohk. He should be able to explain his source of income and why he is willing to part away with such funds sponsor you (if possible cite past instances where he has shown commitment and support to your welfare)
He should support his sponsorship letter with the following docs.
Statement of acct
Employment letter/recent pay slips if employed. If business owner then registration certificate, invoices, receipts etc. This will also help explain if possible any lump sum there.
His ID
Birth certificates of u and him and if u have any evidence of previous commitments shown to you, attach them either in monetary form or otherwise.
Don't forget to add pics.
All this is assumed the money will be in his acct.

Ideally, if he sends the money to you, a gift deed ought to be okay but VOs differ, they might question if it was done for demonstrative purposes as the money is huge. So it's still advisable after doing gift deed, you still back it up with all I listed above.
You also have to explain all this in your sop.

Someone up there was denied despite doing a gift deed for a lump sum of 8million sent to his acct by his mum. Guess he didn't explain in details the source of his mum income. That's why I said you should still do all above even if your sibling transfers the money to you and back it with a gift deed.

Goodluck

Kind-hearted Nairalanders,

I kindly request your assistance in resolving this minor issue.

My sponsor has 22,000 pounds in his account.

My sponsor is willing to gift me 10,000 pounds, which is equivalent to 9.3 million Nigerian naira and 27,000 Canadian dollars.

After this transaction, my sponsor will have 12,000 pounds left in their account, equivalent to 20,000 Canadian dollars.

If I provide my bank statement along with my sponsor's bank statement

Is the above amount sufficient to grant me a Canadian visa?

Note: I am enrolled in a 2 year course that costs 10,000 CAD per year. (2 years is 20, 000CAD)

Please kindly provide suggestions if there is an alternative solution.

Thanks
Let's assume your sponsor has taken care of your tuition, does your own personal SOA cover your 2 years living expenses and miscellaneous?
And if sponsor is to submit his SOA, he has to properly explain every lump sum.

Who is the sponsor to you? That's a huge sum he is about to let go. So you really have to convince the VO on why he or she would let go such amount for your education. If sponsor is your parents or sibling then it makes it a whole lot easier r

You will also need to prove source of income of your sponsor whether he transfers the money to you as a gift or submits his SOA.
