millionaireman:
Three well-equipped Tertiary Hospitals, 27 consulting clinics in the 27 lgas is what Imo state needs to deliver quality health care to its citizens.

Imo already has two of such tertiary hospitals - FMC Owerri and IMSUTH Orlu. Another tertiary hospital in Okigwe - then these tertiary hospitals serve to conduct major blood, urine and tissue analyses; receive referrals from the minor clinics in the other Lgas, carry out major surgery, the tertiary hospitals provide ward services for patients, conduct researches on existing and emerging health problems, etc. This is how it is done in developed and some developing countries. They don't litter giant hospitals all over the place because cost of health care is very expensive.

When the 27 Imo hospitals really take off, can any Imo state govt afford to equip and pay those that run them; because at the beginning, the hospitals cannot generate enough money to sustain themselves?

You have a point..

Although none of those 27 hospitals are giant..

Ordinary New Cross hospital in Wolverhampton (which ranks as the worst city in England is probably bigger, more equipped and more expensive to run than all 27 of them combined..

In England and Europe hospitals are like small cities with streets, zones, districks etc..

Not one building..

The key remains in division of labour..

I can't stress this enough..

I honestly think it's stupid to make something universally free just for the sake of sounding good and deceiving people..
It only shows that one doesn't understand the meaning of the word free..
Or the meaning of the words economy or society or government for that matter..

None of this can ever work in a place where people pay federal taxes to a so called federation that only uses that money to kill those same tax payers and to build stuff in places where people have completely giving up on working, farming, going to school etc..

The whole thing is just one big mess and people are too brainwashed to even grasp the comprehension of what is transpiring..

Tony Okoroji has been one of the Igbo critics of Okorocha based on the media campaign against him. You can verify from his past articles before his recent visit to Imo State.

SATURDAY BREAKFAST with TONY OKOROJI
VALENTINE GROOVE IN THE EASTERN HEARTLAND
I knew that my guy Phyno is connecting with his latest
‘drop’. I just did not know how much until last Sunday.
Sunday was Valentine’s Day and I was caught up in Owerri,
the Imo State capital and the entire city seemed to be on
fire. I was shocked to find out how much and how wide the
Valentine madness has spread. Those of us who live in
Lagos love to think that everything happens in our city.
Sometimes, we grudgingly cut some slack for Abuja and
maybe Port Harcourt. How wrong we are!
Boy, last Sunday, Owerri was locked down. Despite the new
beautiful network of roads, there was heavy traffic
everywhere. All over the city, provocatively dressed
damsels held hands and smooched with their beaus with no
apologies to anyone.
Owerri easily has more sassy hotels per square kilometer
than any other city in Nigeria and the hotels are well run. On
Valentine’s Day, the hotels tried to outdo each other. There
was music, comedy and fun everywhere.
In my job, I travel quite a bit. As a result, I have seen top
hotel rooms in top cities in nearly every continent across
the world. This past Valentine’s Day, I had the pleasure of
spending my time in one of the best hotel rooms I ever
stayed in. Not in Paris, Geneva, Las Vegas or any other
exotic city, it was in Owerri! I am not talking about the well-
known Concorde Hotel which today is much better than
when it was first built.
Believe me Owerri which not long ago was a glorified
village is rapidly becoming an exotic city, remarkably clean
with some great roads, it’s own international convention
center, it’s own man-made water falls in the city and some
smartly dressed traffic control officials. Owerri even has its
own ‘Freedom Square’ where you can go and say anything
you want and curse the governor as much as you like and
nobody is allowed to arrest you! Exotic houses are
springing up all over the city too.
On Valentine’s Day, I invited over my cousin’s wife and her
kids. When they arrived, we stepped over to the expansive
swimming pool area in the hotel. Mayhem is probably the
only way to describe the gaily dressed crowd in the place. It
was fun ‘agogo’! It took us quite a while to even get a place
to sit. The music was loud and the stand-up comedy
raunchy and x rated. I thought it was a little over the bar for
what should be a family environment. I was uncomfortable
and glanced at my cousin’s wife, a Christian in every way.
She was clearly having a good time with her boys and girls
in their teens and twenties. It became clear to me that
despite my significant travels and Lagos residence, I was
the bush man. While I was in my cocoon, the world has
learnt to laugh at words like f**k and c**t. Sex is now
openly discussed in front of mother and kids. That is the
nature of an exotic environment.
I had thought that Nigerian Breweries ‘Ace Roots’ was not in
demand. In Owerri, ‘Ace Roots’ is on fire and Star Radler is
in demand. On Valentine’s Day, I saw people rock to the
music of Davido, Olamide, Flavour, 2 Baba and more. It was
however delirium and commotion when Phyno’s ‘Connect’
blasted off the speakers. The people appeared to be in a
trance. There is no question that Phyno has connected with
‘Connect’ in a crazy way.
Guys, I have heard repeatedly that nothing is happening in
Imo State. It is a big lie. So much is going on. I never was a
fan of Rochas Okorocha but it would be insane not to say
the truth.
Thank you Rochas!
See you next week.

Nigerians believe everything should be free hence Government policies involving commercialisation is always outrightly rejected. To get the best out of anything requires a dedicated workforce who consider themselves indebted to the success of the venture. Eg if parastatals are paid according to what they generate. That is the only way a future without oil is guaranteed.

abagoro,

Politics and disagreements between gov. Okorocha and whoever in Orlu urban apart, let Okorocha publicists tell him that those scraped roads in Orlu be filled with asphalt - asphalt of any type by Okorocha government can be okay, so long as dust is covered.

It's now three months of little or no rain, with thousands of people inhalating dust for four years running in Orlu.
This can't obtain in any part of the world. This is horror.
Orlu people are not known to be quick in rising up against government maltreatment.

You know there's a big difference between slow project and abandoned project. The road I have personally seen which looks abandoned is the older Owerri Road which cuts through Owerri Eberi and I pray everyday that it should never be done forever. It is useless doing good for an ungrateful person for he can never acknowledge.

But Orlu shall survive and rise again after Roch government.
"Ungrateful" according to Gov. Okorocha publicist, Abagworo.

One or two "ungrateful" politicians from Orlu must have made a whole governor of a state inflict untold hardship upon hundreds of thousands of people in Orlu;

inflict untold missery upon people who dared all odds to vote him into office;

hardship lingering for four years till now and may cost many lives in future.

What a great and aspiring politician such a governor is.
Clap for this very intelligent set of people.

Perhaps the ungrateful person or persons is/are the one/ones pointing out the man-made EVIL in Orlu that may start to consume human lives very soon.
If old Owerri road that passes through Owerrebiri is the only abandoned road you saw in Orlu that sends dust into people's lungs in the last four years, then you can lie even to yourself.

That's the only I know of with extension to ITC. Can you list any other and surprisingly almost all the roads in Orlu town are tarred.

Check out this guy who has been an Okorocha critique without visiting his village. He is from Orlu like you.

The Facebook fellow thanks for a road in his village, Amiri in Oru lga about 15km from Orlu urban lga.

We're talking about scratched and abandoned urban roads in Orlu urban lga in the last four years. They now attract CURSES from tens of thousands of people daily on your principal, Gov. Okorocha.

There are too many of these dusty urban roads in Orlu. They make people crack against Okorocha.
Some of them:
Old Owerri Road.
Road from St. Joseph Catholic church to International Market.
Road from St Joseph Church to former TESAC.
Road from Amaigbo road to Morning Star Girls Secondary school, Orlu.
Amorji Road.

Etc etc.

Okorocha deliberately abandoned Orlu, left it in disarray, in fact in a mess after dualizing Ihioma road, and the very very short stretches of Amaigbo road, Enugu road, Owus and Asika Ilobi Aves.

Okorocha's assault on Orlu hugely subtracts from whatever efforts of Okorocha to paint Owerri a New York overnight.
Re: Few Pics From Imo State by longayink: 12:21pm On Feb 28, 2016
No mention of the important but only road to IMSUTH Orlu. The IMSUTH road, though an eyesore, was not scratched, so it's NOT as dusty and dangerous as the othef ones scratched with red soil poured on top and abandoned.

A few days ago, I saw two labourers with bare hands and shovels spraying what looked like asphalt on the dusty road branching from Amaigbo Road to Orlu International Market.
