I didn't want to comment on this thread all along but the level of denigration some folks are ascribing to Imo State is really annoying, irritating and thought provoking. Imo State and Owerri in particular has witnessed tremendous changes in terms of roads and infrastructure in the last few years. I visit Owerri regularly (at least once every week) and I have seen change right before my eyes. So many new roads have been constructed in New Owerri e.g. 1st Inland road, 2nd inland road, 3rd Inland road, C.B anyanwu extension, Sun city hotel road, etc. just to mention a few. The bypass from new Owerri to Douglas road and other newly constructed bypasses are master strokes that helped decongest the Assumpta cathedral-warehouse junction traffic. n.b: I'm not a fan of Rochas administrative style but I dare to say he is doing very well from an unbiased perspective. #youcantfightfacts Plz guys I know 2015 elections are around the corner but lets give due credit to anyone that is performing... every country in the world has good and bad places. You don't need to post only the worst sites (maybe already corrected) just to overshadow or counter the good sites. For verification purposes, I will appreciate if the pictures can be accompanied with date and location of capture to avoid misrepresentation of facts and maybe objectively draw the government attention to them. Thanks. Long live Imo State! Long Live South east! Long Live the Federal Republic of Nigeria! 2 Likes |

The level of rancor I see on this thread between Anambra and Imolites (fellow Igbos) can be used in simple terms to explain why the senate president position rotated among the 5 states in the south east when it was zoned to the south east. Igbos lets learn to love, support and encourage one another. #NorthCentralSenatePresidentExample My 50cents advice. |

oneeast: I beg to disagree. Some of these pictures are over a year old. I was in Owerri last week and that picture of orlu road roundabout linking orji road and Onitsha road is misleading. That spot has been thoroughly fixed as of last week. Plz post recent pix my brother. #anyibuofu remember your monicker @oneeast 3 Likes |

@ MyTime3 Please don't be deceived by what you see and hear on Nairaland. Nairaland is a place where Hate is being Cultivated,Harvested and Processed. Here on Nairaland I learned how to hate my fellow brothers/sisters both Hausa, Igbo and Yorubar. People like Chino & Vanbonattel are the reason why Nairaland is filled with hate. I am from Anambra, but I love Imo and Every part of Igbo land and Nigeria. Please don't allow Nairaland to corrupt your mind here and make you to hate your fellow brothers. I want us(the people of both Anambra and Imo) to ignore them (Chino & Vanbonattel) please press Ignore and forget them. @ Rear Daimond I love that your last pix, it looks very nice. Is that new Owerri? 2 Likes |

Some people are not meant to live with humanity.Immagine how an adult is uploading copies of picture that are not real just because of frustration.Anyway my message to fellow igbo brothers(abia, anambra, ebonyi, enugu, imo, anioma, rivers) is to ignore these dead fools and enemies of igboland and move on with posivity and optimistic view because anyi bu ofu (i.e we are one). MyTime3: Some paid agents are all over the social media spreading lies. The Bible said woe to those that call evil good. Imo gwuru agwu. The standard of the construction work in Imo State is embarrassingly shameful. The painful aspect of substandard construction work is that we will spend another money to excavate and dispose the materials used before remedying the work. This implies double expenditure. A well constructed road may cost more but will remain in service for long. What is the need of constructing roads that will serve only a couple of weeks? Why can't our roads be like the ones in Akwa Ibom, Enugu, Ebonyi, Lagos, Abuja etc. I am a civil engineer and I can confidently tell you that all the roads you mentioned were poorly constructed and can not withstand traffic stress for up to 1year. Check out the roundabouts: it is against design principle in traffic engineering to obstruct the view of drivers with structures. Our standard is that a driver approaching a round about must have clear view of the feeder roads to the roundabout as such structures that obstruct driver's view are not to be sited on the round about. I feel ashamed that Imo with our population of technocrats are being disgraced with the charade going on in the state in the name of construction. Please let us leave politics out of this and call a spade a spade. 1 Like |

Chavens: Self criticism is important. These ugly scenes shown by Chino are from SE states - not just from Imo state. Nigeria has since created the type of Biafra it wants for the SE, but we do not seem to see it; whenever one is entering any of the SE states from outside the SE, one immediately gets the feeling of entering a worse Third World country. SE leaders need to deploy available resources into providing infrastructure for the masses - such as pipe borne water, roads, educational, primary and tertiary health, etc, instead of going for vainglory projects, mostly in their state capitals. 1 Like |

MyTime3:Do you mind him. Just because of Imo, Chino has scrapped the internet for all sort of bad pictures all over sub-saharan africa. Even going to the extent of posting pictures from slums in Benin, Aba, Warri, Onitsha, Cameroun, and even Zambia. Shame on Chino. |
Re: Few Pics From Imo State by millionaireman: 1:53pm On Oct 31, 2014 |
Agukagu: If a driver's view in a roundabout is obstructed by objects in the roundabout, the roundabout creates more accidents and road congestion than was planned to stop by the roundabout. If a roundabout is so small that it cannot take an articulated truck turning comfortably in it, it is a question of how soon before the roundabout is knocked off by trucks. If a dual carriage way was built without horizontal and vertical signs erected, more accidents and delays are expected than before the road was built. 1 Like |
