I want my wife to continue her academic career in fashion in the U.S. I have found FIT in NY but the tuition is on the high side. I also need more options.

Are you making this enquiry on behalf of a friend or relative just like many people claimed here?

If not, I would say you should know more if truly you spent 4 years at RUTGERS. You should know even much more if you have been in the United states for atleast 3 years.

Listen, its challenging to get serious with academics when you start making money peanuts. I write from experience. I don't know how long its going to take me to get through this masters cos' I'm struggling with motivation. In your case, you were almost graduating in Nigeria. Get through with with the bachelors ASAP while adding on new skills that improve your employability; SAP, Primavera, whatever...

People will hook you up with prison jobs, driving cab, Mickey-D's, .... all that cool stuff to help your education, but don't get lost with it. Hope you get in by Fall '13.

I am applying for PhD in Petroleum Geology this summer in these four schools;
Univ of Houston
Texas Tech Univ.
Univ of Oklahoma and
West Virginia Univ.

Although I have actually done independent research on these schools online, I will still like to get some critique on them to know if am making the right choice.
I am also seriously preparing for my GRE and TOEFL, I will also like to know the best way to register for them.

You made a very good decision applying to those schools,they are some of the best geological schools around. To avoid repetition, I will direct you to the link below where I made some comments which you may find useful.

Nonetheless, I will like to know what your research interests are. Are you interested in Reservoir Characterization? Diagenesis/Porosity of Reservoir Rocks? Climate Change? Structural Geology? Seismic? Geochemical Analysis? etc. Your research interest and/or proximity to oil companies should play a vital role in your choice of school.

Hey, why is LSU, UT Austin, USC, Stanford,Colorado School of Mines not on your list? .

One more thing, be sure of the visa if you can get admission into any of the PhD schools in America. You stand up to 90% chance atleast - that is if we remove the NRC factor.
