greatgod2012: Happy Easter to all and sundry.

I have been observing this from my childhood that christmas celebration has always been merrier than Easter celebration.
During Chrismas, we all hear about new cloth line, new shoe lines, hampers, chrismas wishes here and there, children going for santa claus' visits, and other interesting and joyful activities. However, the Easter celebration is not as interesting as that of Chrismas, hardly do kids know what exact we are given break for at our place of work, its less celebrated and interesting in all sense of it, and im bothered on how and why this is so, because, i think Easter should be a very important holiday and festival in the lives of every christian..........so, please, educate me, why Easter is not really celebrated like Christmas.
Thanks you all and happy Easter once again.
OP! please get sense, do you celebrate the time of dealt than the time of birth,

@All, Christmas is meaningless without EASTER.

If Christ was born but didnt reserrect after death, there will be nothing like CHRISTIANITY.

We are Christian not because of His birth, but because of his resurrection.

THIS IS EXACTLY WHAT THE BIBLE TEACHES- U ARE SO ON POINT.
Ya, that "Refference" comment sounded like dat of a brother 4 whose sake Christ died.

The "Christmas Season" was the period of pagan celebrations.Christmas was later observed during that time and later on adopted so many pagan practices that it became a 12 day celebration. The introduction of Santa...the Coco Cola man... into the celebration marked the beginning of the commercialization of Christmas to the extent that Black Friday...the day after Thanksgiving Day in the US...marks the official beginning of the Christmas shopping season. How can Easter ever hope to compete?
