1. Did d missionaries that brought christianity come aboard private ships?

2. If a church is the 'body of christ' why won't those members seek local churches where they reside to worship? What's this thing abt d need for pastors to fly all over d world?

3. Does anyone who diligently seeks salvation, God's kingdom & doing as Jesus commissioned need anything else beyond decent food, clothe & shelter? In strict adherence, material possesions that do not attend to basic needs is not necessary.

4. Have they finished converting all the unbelievers here in nigeria? Let alone africa?

The Pope doesn't travel in commercial airline. Haven't you heard of Sheperd 1 and sherperd 2 ?. Those are the private plane the pope travels in. They are almost as big as US Airforce One

The mistake, Yes o MISTAKE, our dear pastors make is that they choose their investments according to what they think is right in the sight of God without first asking for the leading of the Holy Spirit. All things are lawful unto me, but all things are not expedient. Worse is that majority of christians have no real relationship with God Himself so give their all to the pastors instead. Non ever stops to inquire of the Lord whether their pastors' actions fall in line with the desires of God. Pastors are human, they make mistakes too.

I really have nothing against Pst Adegboye flying a jet as long as he did it by the express leading of the Holy Spirit. By now, Pst Adegboye's will should be buried in God's will and should beat his chest to say "God told me to do it" with confidence, no further explanations. "As many as are LED by the Spirit, they are the sons of God". Every christian should strive to get there.

In the garden of eden, b4 the great fall, there were no pastors, prophets, evangelists, etc. no church buildings, only Adam and Eve and God all communing together for God's pleasure. Christ came to reconcile us back to that same state of communing together one on one with God. Simple. All we see now is the process of reconciliation having pastors, etc and church buildings that God Himself says He does not dwell in. Hmmmmm.. Deep things and enough said. God give us understanding and cause us to ask You questions as christians without fear or favour.

Ogbeche77: But sir, the pope is the leader of over 1 billion catholics worldwide, yet he boards a commercial jet liner. If my memory has not failed me,Pope Benedict visited Benin republic two years ago on Air Italia
How many countries or state has the pope been visiting in a year?

You see what I mean. An organisation that can afford a jet to effectively run should use canoe and camel.

I weep for this country. See how youth of the 21st century weeping because a man of God has acquire a jet( one of the modern means of transportation) for himself and his ministry.
Jesus did not used a P. Jet to evagelise- right. But how many cities did Jesus cover before he died?
Now let's conclude that since Jesus did not use microphone or megaphone to preach, Churches should not used it.
If I may ask again did Jesus preach on TV? No, so that is equally bad.
Guys let's wake up for the glory of the later shall be greater than the past. I support the private jet project

All the brouhaha over private jets owned by church leaders is, in my opinion, misplaced. Most of these churches are actually private companies run as businesses. And if the board of directors of a business decide to use the company's profits to buy the MD/CEO a jet, they are within their rights. Any person who doesn't like it should cease contributing to that particular church company's profits by ending his attendance at its Sunday seminars and other gatherings, or raise the issue at shareholders meetings.

1. I don't even get the point. But I ask, Could they have afforded it?

2. Overseeing and Shepherding needs movement. Read your Bible.

3. Useless Point. We are not talking of the basic need of a single man but the need of the Church to run effectively.

4. Converting and Shepherding are Church duties

Please, when the Holy Bible says God takes pleasure in the prosperity of His servant, then why should having a private jet for the convenience of a man of God be a problem?

Although you may not need a private jet to spread the good news, because we are now in the digital age and all you need most is a fast internet and a mobile device to connect you to millions of people on earth sharing the Word of God without stress.

Are you aware that there is at least one larger church that for some reason, doesn't see the need to acquire a private jet?

Honestly, when it comes to religion a lot of Nigerians have mental issues. All sense of reasoning seem to elude them that you wonder if these people just descended from Apes. Anybody can call himself a "Pastor" on Facebook and post a status with a religious connotation and say type "Amen" if you want your blessing. Before you say Jack, there are thousands of comments already with "Amen" and you ask yourself, do these people actually believe they will receive some sort of blessings or reward by typing "Amen"? How can Nigeria as a country develop when majority of its populace are like this?
I wondr o,ppl r evn here trying to justify the unjustifiable. Its an embarrasmnt thou som ppl appear nt 2 hv noticed. Them addressing him as' Mr' 2 me wsnt an omission rada sarcasm of d highest oder!

The catholic church may have its issues but I respect them.

You need to see the massive hospital they built in Ijede,Ikorodu;St Raphael Divine Mercy Specialist Hospital. Very nice hospital and guess what, its highly affordable and well equipped too.

Infact I heard its cheaper to give birth in that hospital than in the Ikorodu General Hospital. I also understand that there are a lot more catholic hospitals in Lagos. The hospitals are open to the public mind you not just catholics.

I believe if Nigerian owned churches including RCCG can follow the catholic model and the model of the early missionaries of giving back to the society, things will be much better.

Think before you talk and stop wasting resources.
1. Are pension funds meant for acquiring such items?
2. Not all companies rent them. It depends on which is more economically effective, to buy or rent?

ydass: Jehovah's witnesses spreach the Good News in all part of the world and yet they have not bought private jet for their evangelising work.

Talk sense jare. Who is their general overseer? Do they have the same structure as RCCG.
Re: Pastor Adeboye: A Jet is Necessary For God's Work by vicade(m): 8:19pm On Apr 13, 2013
The prosperity craze is also another factor.

Infact I once heard Pastor Sam Adeyemi say in a sermon talking about the early days of daystar that " he dreamt of a church where if people come and see the cars parked in the car park, they will give their lives to Christ and come to church"-a paraphrase.

It got me thinking if one goes to ogboni meeting and sees even bigger cars there, what happens then ?

In fact in the forbes richest people in the world, how many are christians ?

The focus is on prosperity rather than holiness which is a big problem in todays christian society.

[size=14pt]There is money for taking care of less privilege and that for running the Church and spreading the message of Christ. But what do you want? "Give to the less privilege, give them all" You say this not because you care about the less privilege (you see them everyday and do nothing) but because you hate the Gospel spreading. When Churches give in charity you pretend you don't see but when they take huge steps in spreading the Gospel, you fume like your father and master Satan. You brood of Vipers!

Una mates dey buy jet to support God work una dey here dey cry.

there was no jet during the time of Jesus. RCCG is not made for the poor alone. It contain both the rich and the poor. Besides, the man is aging and needs to step down on rigorous physical exercise. You know he fast most of the time. I'm not trying to defend him but RCCG is the fastest growing church in the world. It can be compared with churches with presence in less than 50 countries. Having churches in 160 countries is not beans o

First of all, let's get something straight here, the jet is not a personal property of the pastor(atleast pst adeboye and bish. oyedepo), so if any of them seizes to be the general overseer today, the next person in line will be the one using the jet.
Do you people know that some of this pastors traveled like 4 or 5 countries in a week at times, I heard of a time when bishop oyedepo was in an african country till saturday night and he still made the sunday morning service at canaan land, so how do you expect him to meet up with such schedule without a private jet? These pastors embark on many Impromtu journey as the spirit leads them, so their schedule can't fit into any commercial airline programm. So it is a necessity for some of them and not a luxury.
