Buying a car is not necessarily a sign of success, but mostly a sign u're a focused induvidual. That is if u buy d car out of neccesity &not as a show-off to ladies, plus its a car within ur budget. Someone said if u buy a car, others wont easily help u. Wrong, dude! It depends on d league of biz u're playing in. There are some corporate organisations &big-time benefactors dat wont do biz wit u if u dont hav a car cos they believe u'v not got d level of success/exposure they need to invest in u or buy ur ideas/products (usually in millions or hundreds of thousands). Remember too, SUCCESS ATTRACTS MORE SUCCESS.

brilapluz: ..buying a car only gets U more expenses(car fuel, car maintenance,etc)..if U need 2 get a car as a necessity, den U must have d resources(an avenue dat generates income outside ur usual job) 2 meet a car's everyday challenges inspite of its obvious comfort!

Poverty thinking...

Getting a car is as good as being alive, 2me is not a way of measuring success, its just wat u should ve. To those who say its a liability, it depend on d state of Ur car , d only time mechanics touches my car is wen I need to service d engine or tire change

Car get grade naaa! From like N80k to billions of naira. So how can a man who chooses simplicity of life with low or no car be regarded non successful when we good salary earners who live in debt n do not meet end needs.
Car is no success but an opportunity to move @ will.

You guys are talking of car maintenance like its one big deal. What kind of car are you driving? Well, my car hasn't been to the mechanic since january. Car can be a necessity and also a luxury, it depends on the type you own. The yellow buses in Lagos is alone a reason for one to own a car, if you don't have one, what's your reason?? Its either you love the treatment in the yellow buses or you can't afford one presently.

ohh..am sory..mayb u didnt get my drift..apart 4rm d maintenance part, dere r oda huge expenses associated wit it like minor accidents, changn of parts,(fuellin Ur car, sumtims on a weekly basis)etc..so wat U need is an xtra income 2 take care of such..it doesnt require a specific car 2 prove dat U r wealthy or successful but hvn various businesses or companies(assets) dat provides U wit excess or unlimited CASH 2 facilitate ur luxuries like expensive cars,is required..

A car is a necessity. All those saying it is a liability should get the means going first, get the car and they will wonder how they stayed without one. Maintenance? Bull talk. Get a good car, you won't need to worry about that....infact getting a good car should be a goal when one wants to get a car. Some people with cars may say this and that but ask them to park their vehicles and use public transport, then you will hear a different story.

Childish question.

Is owning 3 cars a sign of success NO!!!

Building a house isnt even a sign of success. One can still do all these things yet without constant cashflow and he isnt successful at least financially.

Everything comes by level. For some people, owning a car is a risk or liability. For some, a car is a necessity. For some, a car is also a direct means of livelihood e.g. transporters.

Some people even own many cars, one car wont be enough to maintain their engagements.

AnyiWa: It depends on the mindset of people. Some people consider it an achievement but to me,its not
fact...It depends on d person's mindset...If having a car is d main goal 4 sum, then thats success 4 dem,as 4 me i do not measure having a car as been succesful, its a neccesity....I come to realize that most succesful people dnt claim they are succesful(sum say they want to do more),instead they are not satisfied, they want to do more(eg dangote),but the ones dat claim to b succesful they av not made any impact on others people life...Sha it depends on the person mindset,my own goal is to make pple around me happy, dey dnt lack what to eat, they have enough cloths to wear, they a living a meaningfull life,if i dnt archive dis i dnt think ma mind will b at rest.

I take the bus to work. I drive rented car on weekends that I pay hourly for. I would rather save car insurance $$ and driving. I also prefer to b seen as 'poor' then no one really needs to know how deep my pocket is... I walk to church instead of driving and walk briskly back home, thats exercise!
