@OP Rather than worry about if the meat is washed or not, you should instead worry about what meat are they actually serving you. You may be hoping for Ram and getting Rat instead, or a road-kill animal that you won't fathom eating. I read once about a 'mallam' that was serving people dead vulture meat that he picked up on the road instead of chicken suya, go figure! 2 Likes |

Made me remember a story on BB that went viral some years back of a boy infested with HIV, only to discovered that the Mum and Dad are negative. A further probe reveal that he eat a suya whose seller had a cut on his hand and not well managed (You know how those mallam can be dirty). Unfortunately I remember I bought Suya with a Malam who has a cut with a plaster on. My mind never get rest until I went for HIV test, ever since I have being running from suya 2 Likes |

Guys we should note that this suya has no NAFDAC number. Abokis conjure anything in the name of suya.I once bought suya that tasted so good , mehn I have to buy more the next day.But at a time I have to realize that this suya tastes is so sweet and I believe that Aboki added sacarine or something else and I didnt even feel well after eating much of it.So we have to be careful when buying suya. |

Suya is safe to eat... Although some(if not all) of these suya sellers have poor hygeine, it doesn't create a cause for alarm. As long as heat is involved, a large amount of disease causing microorganisms are killed.
