Hey Wham,

Fancy seeing you here!  What happened to the Piloting career?  Aren't you interested in learning how to fly aeroplanes anymore?   Shame really, if that's the case, 'cos flying an aircraft is great if you are not scared of death.   I mean this thread:

https://www.nairaland.com/nigeria/topic-142420.0.html

Whatever you do, please avoid using sims (simulators).  Best to use the IDES ECC 6.0 and nothing else
.  In case of any doubt, re-read the thread.

All the best with your SAP studies.  You'll get there in the end, just like everyone else.

@Kiwi992
You know, I was at the airport with my brother the other day (not to fly) and I just had to tell him about intriguing Nigerians like you who have advanced themselves in various fields. Your contributions in the Piloting, Project Management and SAP threads are so relevant and resourceful.
My flying aspiration is still there but I had to suspend the flight training for now. Prioritizing based on financial reasons have played in smiley

Thanks for the tip on Sim vs IDES ECC 6.0

I will appreciate it if we could communicate better. I mean via email. My addie is whamatix@yahoo.com.

There are guys here who can help you. Mine was installed by a friend and he almost went mad cos it developed errors during installation on the two different occasions.

So, he doesnt even want to hear about doing any SAP installs these days.

@kiwi, nice to see you back.

Hi All,

I was just passing through but felt it necessary to stop by and give Wham a piece of advice, being that I happen to know him at the Piloting thread.

Please take no offence as I wouldn't be responding to your individual posts.  This is purely based on my decision to take a back seat and watch you guys to see how you are getting on with your SAP studies.

That said, whatever happens, never get discouraged 'cos no good thing ever comes easy in life.  Your focus right now must be on passing the Consultancy Certification exams and nothing else.  You simply can not let it drag on as this thread has been running for over two years.

Wham - thanks for your kind words.

Nnaiah, I commend you on your efforts to help other Nigerians.  That's the spirit.

All the best to everyone of you.

Good to know this thread is still powering hard, true spirit of naija! Cheers,

@Chybyke07 - You may find it interesting to go technical based on your background so you can challenge yourself. If you want to continue programming - ABAP or JAVA may be interesting to you. BASIS won't be a bad option as well. But hey, Do not forget the market while making your decisions if making money is one of your reasons.

Cheers!

Hi Guys,

Hope you lot are doing well, seems many people having taken an interest in SAP, sounds really good!! Nigeria is still a virgin territory with regards to SAP, I am sure in the next 3-6 years, SAP will make huge inroads in Nigeria, there will need specialist to help implement, can also see some newcomers in this forum still ask questions about SAP, all it takes is 35mins-2 hours of your time to go through this thread, by the time you have finished, you will surely know where your skill set fits in the SAP environment, someone asked about Solution manager, its basically a tool used to manage SAP projects, it offers a lot of flexibility, the business process and every step of the implementation is well documented, Solution manager or what we call Solman can also be used to document every day SAP issues, trouble shooting, basically the SAP consultants work on issues assigned to them, the process is like this, an end user who has an account set up in Solman needs a configuration change, they create an issue and give information as to what needs to be changed, sometimes access to Solman are only given to BPO, business process owners, once the issue has been created, it is assigned to the consultant or developer who will fix the issue, they update the issue if they have made changes, unit testing or quality and assurance testing, QA, they re-assign it back to the user, once they are satisfied with the changes, they can close the issue, I guess project managers will find this tool useful as they can document the blueprint, realisation, testing, user testing all the way to go-live, some would-be consultants asked if there are job opportunities abroad, well i am sure there are but they have to be sponsored by foreign recruitment agencies who will get them the neccessary Visas and what not, but then you must have plenty experience, it is however uncommon, a typical implementation in Nigeria will possibly involve some implementation partners like Accenture, Ciber or any preferred supplier, usually it gets outsourced, thats where the Indians come in, not going to talk about this subject as it has been well documented in my earlier threads

SAP are currently buying out other smaller ERP providers or tools which can enhance the SAP landscape, for those that are familiar with crystal reports, medius workflow, even suppliers which SAP dont own, they have a partnership business where these tools are allowed to be synched into SAP for reporting purposes, e.g cognos, they are still the number 1 player in the the ERP business software and will continue to be in the future, seems one has to update their skills frequently to give you the cutting edge, in the next couple of months, i should hopefully add BW / BI to my CV as we are about to implement this and i should be going on training quite soon

Please i will not respond to personal mails, all the answers you need are right in here

Re: About Sap? by nnaiah: 10:48pm On Feb 23, 2011
I am have been informed that many of the CVs sent in are threatened by the absence of information on

1.Applicant's Certification status (if the applicant is certified or not)

2.Evidence of an attempt in getting certified(exam score or screenshot of exam score)

3.No hint of experience in DEMO or LIVE project

4.A general CV with no hint of interest in any of the SAP MODULES.

Few of the CVs are very very impressive anyway.

i will have to confirm the closing date for submission of CVs for the project.

if you are interested send your CV to ngsapmasterdata@gmail.com

State if you are ready to travel at short notice or not

Hello,

I discovered sap jobs in Nigeria is not made publish in the papers nor the website.
I did my FICO certification in UK since 2009. Since I got to Nigeria the level of awareness is not encouraging most especially job opportunities.

I wonder if someone can give me a link into these. I have been working over a year as an enduser instead of a consultant. I am thinking of relocating abroad where this job is on the fly.

Agreed that we have training academy in Nigeria. After going through these training and certifications, the job will not just jump on your lap. NNPC is in the middle of implementation but how do Nigerian Certified Consultant get to know about this opportunities?

I will appreciate if I can network with a FICO consultant on this forum

my number is 08033366494.

Cheers guys
