theoctopus:What's this one saying?? The same Benin you say it's filled with mud houses is still the same place your Igbbo brothers run to, to get their daily bread! I'm not even sure, you've visited Asaba, because no normal human being would even compare Asaba to Benin! They are not in the same level! Back in the mid-western state, Benin was still the capital. 1 Like |

invest-now2013: the recent money -in billions - being thrown around by peter obi makes me to think that you are right. the question is why the figure is not reflecting in CBN statistics could someone be stealing the money before it gets to CBN? |

btw I really think that these figures being thrown around for anambra is laughable only onitsha has about 4 million people living there that town alone can generate more IGR than most states in Nigeria 1 Like |

The bulk of IGR are PAYE and taxes deducted from Source when Civil/Public (Multi National Companies Staffs inclusive) Salaries are paid. The Business people hardly pay substantial tax. Unilever gives my wife her monthly tax cheque payable to Imo State Govt when she was there as Marketing/Sales Rep. re@lchange: 1 Like |

Ngwakwe: The bulk of IGR are PAYE and taxes deducted from Source when Civil/Public (Multi National Companies Staffs inclusive) Salaries are paid. The Business people hardly pay substantial tax. ok, now it is making more sense. but still anambra has many banks, industries (like juhel pharmaceuticals et al), universities and teaching hospitals like NAUTH, government workers (state and federal), and other schools (polytechs, secondary schools et a). the figure still falls far short of reality. |

sleekdot:LoL...is it the osun that I know? Lemme just tell u sth, ur governors re giving false figures so as to attract investments to there regions. D only reason y some states in the se don't want to list der original figures is because of the same reason y most of the ppl refused to be counted in the 60's i.e they fear that the FG wud want to take more cash from them, in time they wud release this figures for u d moment the fg grants regional/state autonomy...lol'''till then keep enjoying the fake figures. How wud u be comparing osun with anambra, when anambra houses 2 of west africa's most popular and large markets, How wud u be comparing ogun with abia which houses one of Nigeria's most influential market, as for Enugu and Ibadan, if I show u a pic of Enugu after the war, and Ibadan, then show u a pic of Enugu and Ibadan as at now 2013, u wud know that Ibadan is a disgrace to Nigeria. Even ur so called fountain of knowledge Ekiti...lol'''Imo state beats it 3times in education, thankGod for the federal character, if not what happened in 1960 wud have happened again. As for ebonyi, d revenue it gains from its rice production beats ur termite infested cocoa flawless, just pray that Elechi doesn't ever think about going into cocoa production, u guys re gone. 4 Likes |

Ngwakwe: How then is the South West different from the South East?Thank you for your analysis and statistics Ngwakwe Few things i have observed is how Ebonyi that was flattened some 43 years ago during the uncivil war with their indigenes giving £20 for what ever they had in the bank has overtaken Awolowo's capital of the south west that has seen neither war nor scorched earth economic policies, some few weeks back I was astounded as to how some ignorant folks went about trying to convince people that osun state imaginary gdp is higher than enugu gdp but recent figures have proved other wise. With the multi billion naira plants of NBL, NBC, Guiness the malting plants, the internally generated revenues from Ariaria, New market, shoe manufacturers, IEA, big transportation businesses, banks, pharmaceutical companies etc , conglomerates like Pz, unilever, SMEs that produce plastics, chemicals, vegetable oil , hotels, ,Abia would definitely trounce all yoruba states excluding Lagos. 2 Likes |
