ba7man: Do you truely belive 4 out of every 10 houses in Lagos belong to an Igbo man??

Its the lies their relatives tell them on how they've bought all the houses in Lagos back home in the east they come to spew online.

Even all those renting houses now own them according to their reasoning.

It is useless debating that with him. That is the fallacy that gives them false sense of confidence and I don't have the time to burst his ego bubbles.

They lack the mathematical acumen and intelligence to know that, they are telling the world, they own every 4 out of 10houses in Lagos.

So the oniru or okoyas families selling lands are using the money to dance azonto abi. Let them be deceiving themselves.

Mayor_of_Lagos:

Why do i even have to go into that with you? Actor is a relative term and world stage is a relative term.

On the world stage successful actors are acclaimed based on eurocentric and western values. I want my culture to promote and support Yoruba actors that project Yoruba culture to the world. Fela did not have the typical omoluabi lifestyle but he was an ambassador for Yoruba ethos and social accountability. He found place in Hollywood.
If Hubert Ogunde, Duro Ladipo and host of other Yoruba actors had directed their creativity to eurocentric drama and theater theyd be in Hollywood.

Ogunde was making movies in the 60s and 70s about occult topics that in 2000 were popularized in the Harry Porter series.

Lwkmd.
I don't even mean film tnz.
moreover, whatever ogunde was doing didn't catch the worlds attention till Igbo spoken living in bondage featured in 1992 and nollywood started.

Of course! In fact SE is yet to understand and relate taxation with cultural power. This is because you never had city states with tributaries and never had to exact taxation on any throne, domestic or foreign.

The culture of taxation in West dates back to the age of Yoruba Empires.

so do u now get y the IGR is lower than what it really has?

Ojukwu was very sound strategically and tactically that he sent 3mm of your people to their early graves.

Zik was sound strategically and tactically, that he was contesting in Lagos before he was shown the way to the east.

Yorubas are so gullible and they fought the Northern Oligarchy to a stand still and took power from them, rendered the country ungovernable for years, inflicted international sanctions on the country, made the country a pariah state in the committee of nations, sent a seating head of state to his grave -- all without a single shot.

I am sure your forefathers would have warned you,no matter how hot head you are, not to take on a man full of wisdom.

If they did not, it clearly shows the jungle living statement I said earlier on. History are handed down to us and tales are told through the mud houses of ours.
Yes and your Hausa Overlords killed your prominent elites and leaders example Awolowo, Dele Giwa,MKO Abiola,Kudirat Abiola,Pa Alfred Rewane,Funsho Williams etc and yet you still bend down to kiss their Assess, all for what?! A slice of what can never be yours until 2050

they should show us the developed nations of the world without strong culture of tax payment. When our forefathers were building towns, the best their own can come up with are hamlets. how do you expect them to understand taxation, royalties and tributaries payments,

all those you mentioned clearly shows yorubas are not lazy, they eat their sweat and they live within their means. Is that not better than the crimes you are known for all over the world?

the mud houses are the history of over 500years. you can never have that, because the best the brains of your fathers can come up with as at then is palm fronds. We cherish our houses because they are stories that cannot be bought with money, because they will always serve as reference point of humble beginings for many, and not the get rich instanta miracle of some flat heads.
An average yoruba is contended with whatever he or she got. They leave within their means. very rare to see yoruba girls into prostitution, they will rather be apprentice. They are called virtuous ladies.

If Lagos was not developed by IGR alone, are your states not collecting allocation too.

I will rather stay in the shanties of the towns you mentioned, than step a foot in the storey buildings of crime infested, crime ridden towns of Owerri Enugu Onitsha Nnewi or Aba.

Don't be a fool bro, the only Nigerians ever nominated for Grammies are Yorubas (kSA and Femi kuti) Femi is now a four time Grammy nominee hopefully he'll win one this time around.

The only person of Nigerian decent to have won the Grammy also happen to be Yoruba (Sade adu), so you see, that adichie was featured on a song by Beyonce which isn't guaranteed of a Grammy nomination self is nothing to brag about.

BTW, did kidjo not also win a Grammy award?

After all said and done, it is the duty of we the enlightened Igbos to educate our folks on the importance of paying tax. Igbos are naturally anti-tax going by past events and present ones as well. For a society to develop and for the people to understand the need for accountability from elected officials, taxes need to be paid and accounted for.

if I said you are politically naive, you will be whining again, as usual. We gained presidency that you have not tasted and will never taste. It is an unwritten rule in this country, the same way, racism is an unwritten rule in US and Europe.

We have always been political relevant. Go the shallow grave of Zik and ask him.

We choose our own path. We always determine who wins. Ask GEJ why he ran to SW 2days to.the last election. We tilted the p election in his favour. That is political relevance. If the life expectancy in SE is up to 70, you should have cause to celebrate. How much more an achiever, an icon, a legal luminary, a leader, a warrior and a great grandfather that fulfilled the biblical doctrine of living inheritance for their children's children.

Pray that you should live upto his age. If you are still leaving in SE, I can bet it with you, the probability is less than zero. Thank God you are in festac, Lagos, SW, so you still have the chance to reach there, provided your republic of igbo land is not actualized before then.

Death visited an old man in his sleep, so what more. He is more honourable and celebrated in death than the collabo of achebe+ojukwu+zik. What more can we use to celebrate this man that is 1 in a million.
