EL Retardeeno as clueless as ever. He is like a man who caught his wife pants down with his driver(Oduah) and did nothing, but when his cook impregnated a wayward girl from Otuoke, he asked him to drink poison and die.

2015 is not far! We shall see.

Sanusi initially claimed that 49b was missing and after reconciling the account, they said it wasn't 49b but 10b even though Sanusi did not agree with then... To say that Sanusi is a liar in this case is very unfair... The fact is that whether 49b, 12b or 10b money is missing and the president should be concerned about recovering the missing money rather than fighting Sanusi for pointing out that money was missing even if didn't get the exact figure... Nigerians should celebrate a man like Sanusi for his uprightness and patriotism instead of trying to crucify him for standing on the side of truth..... The Ministers of finance and petroleum should tell Nigerians why 10b ( which they accepted) is yet to be remitted and off-course they (finance and petroleum ministers) should be the ones to resign here and Sanusi (ie if there is need for resignation at all) .

kokoA: have you asked yourself this question before? Was nairaland this tribal during past administrations? The answer is NO! Which means this present government is doing something very wrong, trying to divide the country along ethnic lines. We have a president who openly favours one section of the country to the other. What you see on nairaland is just a trickling down effect of this madness at the top.

You and your likes have a very short memory and no knowledge of Nigerian politics. When the North was in power, what was the official language in NNPC? Hausa. Who were all the jobs in NNPC, NPA, PTDF, NIMASA, EFCC, customs and other FG MDAs given to? Northerners.

The north has more empty and unnecessary LGAs than any other ethnic group and hence control a large chunk of monthly allocation. All this is because of long years of northern rule. How many of you complained?

It beats my imagination that anyone will say that GEJ is clannish. How many offices are held by Ijaws? How many LGAs are in SS? What do the 2 zones(North vs SS) bring to the table? Human and material resources wise?

I make bold to say that the northerners are very bold and brazen in committing economic injustice on the rest of Nigerians.
SW can keep playing the ostrich but time will tell.

owobokiri: A CBN guv who doesnt know how reveneu accrues to his office is not worth his onions and should be thrown away with the quota system that rocketed him to such exalted position. Knowing too much arabic than you need does not a good CBN governor make.. Thats the bottomline folks..
Such a nuseating display of cluelesness. Sanusi has been the cbn gov for as long as we can remember. He's been the fed govt. banker for that long as well. Never before (at least not to our knowledge) has he raised an alarm over unremitted funds. He knows the nitty gritty of how funds are being remitted like the back of his hand and i doubt the schematic was altered over the last one year.. In essence if he says something doesnt add up, indeed it doesnt! What the fvck has arabic, or islam, or hausa, or fulani, etc, got to do with the facts?? Is this damn country any better than saudi Arabia, or Quatar, or UAE where muslims form the entire govt establishment? When some of you talk i cant help but wonder if you truely find merit in your arguements.

You neither know Accounting nor the oil sector so I shall forgive that statement. $10.8b was used to subsidise kerosene? Over 100,000 barrels a day lifted by NPDC was used to finance exploration? Those are the brilliant explanations Diezani and Ngozi used to 'reconcile' the numbers and you hail them. When SLS finally leaves office of his own accord we shall get the full gist and we shall see who gets stoned in this country.

Obiagu1:

The problem was not about performing his duties, rather it was about the leak.

Like I have always said, it was a coordinated plot and the focal point that was needed to initiate the impeachment of the President, hence the mass defections from the PDP and the open letter. Unfortunately for the schemers, the figures were wrong and the plot collapsed.

Sanusi played politics to undermine his boss rather that patriotically perform his duty so he has to go.

Leave because he pointed out that taxpayers' money were missing ? This is the problem with jonathan's bootlickers, you attack the messanger instead of addressing the issues at stake. Sanusi was bad in your own thinking but tell me he was wrong when after the press conference Iweala and Diezani admitted that money was indeed missing.

You want people that will help you cover your corrupt administration but if they don't, you start name-calling. Well Jonathan can as well appoint Dokubo as the next Cbn governor so he will keep mum to the unprecedent corruption in this regime .pls when did u come out?

I'm Neither a fan of Sanusi, GEJ or even OBJ

for
that matter but when your

commander-in-
chief tells you to go you GO !!!

bizlifelines: I completely agree with Sanusi that the unremited $10.8billion should be of more priority to the president than the call for his resignation. A disagreement between a sitting president and his CBN Governor can be better managed than this approach the president is allegedly adopting.

Don't mind gullible NIgerians. Instead of them to be cueing up behind this brave man, they are here crucifying him for telling the truth. What difference does it make if the money missing is 50 billion or 10 billion Dollers? The truth is that money is missing. Do you know what 10 billion Dollers can do for Nigeria? That money can build 3 brand new refineries and employ 150 graduates. Don't come here telling me the 10 billion Dollers have finally been reconciled. That is pure blackmail, cooking the books working backwards.
The nnpc version of the missing 10 billion is an afterthought capable of indicting themselves. First the finance minister had earlier said that no kerosine subsidies have been paid that period, how come they are now coming to tell us that the. Money was used as kerosine subsidies? That amount to cooking the books just to get at Sanusi. Why should the nnpc even pay for kerosine subsidy without the knowledge of the minister of finance? These people think Nigerians are fools?
Sanusi has done his duty as CBN governor to intimate the president on non remittance to the federation account, that's part of his responsibility, for many years nnpc refuse to come clean as to the way and manner of their book keeping, it takes sanusis letter for them to reconcile their account and he should be celebrated not criticize.
Why did it take the leakage of the letter for the presidency to call for action long after the letter have been written?
GEJ sacked the education minister simply because her governor was not on his side and left incompetent Wike. GEJ wants to sack one of the most competent CBN governor in the history of Nigerian CBN, but GEJ will not sack Stella, DIenziene etc all indicted in high profile corruption cases, and some people are coming here to say this president is no clannish?

As a good Christian, the holy book warned against given false comment/judgement after knowing the truth. Why are people commenting based on religions and tribes in a political settings which is against the warning of JESUS?. I wonder why some anti Christ still call themselves Christian and argue hypocratically due to religious sentiment in what is strictly politics, which wil nt favour Christianity atlast. To say the truth, For almost 15years ago, a Muslim have only rule for 2years as the President yet, we are a ccusing them of religious sentiment on a political matter. In 2011, didn't Sultan, Etus of Nupe, Emir of Kano, Alaafin of Oyo, Emir of Suleja etc know dt JONATHAN is a Christian before they supported him against their Muslim brother?, this is because they knw dt Politics is dift from religions. As Christian, its nt need raising issues dt will av everlastn effect because if eventually they started playing politics with religions with their high population of abt 70% in Nigeria, it will nt be favourable and Jesus wil forsake those who initiated this problems. GEJ has really disadpointed God and human by performing less than our expectations and HE shd nt use Christianity to cover up. If anybdy feels that I'm lieng, he shd pls, list his achievement for the past 6years. Truth is said. Jesus can bear me witness.

Clearly the Jonathan presidency must be feeling uncomfortable with Sanusi's remaining five months in office in this political season . As at last night, efforts were being made to reconcile the president and the CBN governor and create an orderly transition at the apex bank so as not to harm growing confidence in the Nigerian economy.

the bolded has explained everything a sane mind needs to know. And we have understood jonathan's antics.

U can't tell a competent cbn governor like SLS to resign just because u claimed he leaked a letter to the former president, there mst be other motives behind it.

• The above bolded statement explains why u want his head. Never in the history of this country have we seen a desperate leader like Gej

@Danny301, Mr Sanusi should resign, what was his intentions in hyping the values if not a negative image and sabotage to the government. This is misleading to Nigerians if only you know the legal, social and financial implication of this to this government... Or will Mr Sanusi say that he has started losing his figure counting ability... We know money has be diverted iv various divisions in our country but don't just add salt to our wounds and want us not to exercise the newtonian 3rd law of mechanics which is natural (ation and reactions are = but opposite in direction).

In any civil democracy, the president has the final say on who he hires, retains and fires.
If he has asked the man to go he must go. I've never heard of any place in the whole world where a public officer is asked to leave by the chief executive and he refuses.

Nigeria, always breaking unenviable records.

So Obama does not have the power to sack Bernanke? This Fulani arrogance is getting out of hand. In essence, Sanusi is telling Mr. President that the effective power of the land rests in the hand of the legislators. If Jonathan blinks in this stand-off, then he will be forever regarded as weak. He must set example with Sanusi, lest others will poke him in the eye and go scot free.

Stop sounding like an illiterate. The CBN Governor like every other central bank governor on earth is completely independent from the executive so the executive has no power whatsoever to remove the Governor. This is the same as with the INEC Chairman. The president can only nominate people into these positions, the senate has full control over who gets appointed and who gets removed.

luvinhubby: When it`s obvious that Sanusi is an incompetent liar. Time has revealed that his `so called` bank reforms was a big sham.
The fact that he was dancing around figures (from 48 to 12) on the `missing` amount shows he is an incompetent CBN governor.
The report of the auditors on the issue has proven him wrong so he should do the needful cheesy and resign.

He was not dancing around any facts. NNPC and the finance ministry were wrong. To have spent the money without remittance to the federation account. All the did was explain, where the money went and the figure reduced.

The right sequence is that all revenue is paid into the federation account before it is disbursed for spending. For the NNPC to spend first and remit the balance, that is breach of due process.

It is just too late for GEJ to know that the man in CBN is just but a clear destroyer of the Nigerian economy! Who tells you that all the reforms he has been doing were not to serve a particular interest? How sure are we that all those allegations he made against those five banks were actually genuine? Is the CBN governor not a a reckless talkative who instead of being a technocrat obviously turn to be a loose talkative? To me, this is not an ideal Central Bank governor anywhere in the world. Was it the same way the western world handled their banking crisis that Sanusi handled that of Nigeria by destroying the very flourishing banking industry left by Charles Soludo. No wonder he(Sanusi) bluntly said he was not going for the Second term, since he knew he had carried out all the agenda given to him by his cohort. Sanusi has clearly done much damage to the economy of Nigeria. It's a pity!!!
