Production of Shea Butter Body Cream, Melting Method. Materials: -Shea butter..........1 slab -Oil(I recommend P.K.O )---------------2-4 spoons -Fragrance Procedure: •Put a little water in a pot and put it on a lite stove, let the water boil, then get a smaller pot or any clean dry container (that can't be affected or melted by heat) then put the unrefined shea butter into it, insert the smaller pot(container) containing the shea butter into the bigger pot. Stir slowly as the steam melts the shea butter. •Add your oil and continue to stir Once the shea butter has melted, turn off the heat. •Now, add the fragrance and stir •Finally, package for use. Note that, you only need the heat to melt your shea butter so, don't over heat it. Shea butter can loose it's healing abilities if over heated. The fragrance has no healing effect apart from just giving the product a nice smell. These simple composition of shea butter and P.K.O can take care of the following: 1. Wrinkles 2.Dry skin 3. Eczema 4. Stretch marks These are very natural way of dealing with some skin ailments because of their medicinal properties. Hey, if you have an itching body or your kid, the application of this product on the affected part will immediately give you a relief. Try it! SLAB: what I refer to as slab is the smallest size of shea butter as usually sold here in most part of Nigeria. The price is just 50 naira per slab. Let's go and check this out ourselves and see how authentic my claims are. As in, in term of the healing effect of the above mentioned materials. This is just one method and one formula, more to come later. Meanwhile, you can keep your questions coming. 2 Likes |

In our next lesson, we shall advance a little. Will be showing us how to blend in Vitamin E and other things for a more effective product. We shall also learn the use of beeswax in the production and preservation. Remember, our aim is to have a natural product devoid of chemicals. Stay tuned and keep your questions coming. Thanks. |

wao, until 2 years ago I used to laugh at my mum for using Shea butter on her skin. Then I stumbled on an investor named Tunistra, online who has a Shea processing factory in Benin republic. I did a lil research n I discovered that Shea oil or Carite is one of the best skin n healthcare product in the world. 1. a spoonful + a little table salt cures cough 2. as an aftershave for smoother skin 3. as a moisturizer 4. for removing cracks in legs 5. for a smooth n soft skin 6.used as ointment for healing strains, dislocations n wounds. 7. to relax the muscles especially against stress as commonly found among athletes. etc Strongbest you are just too much. I'm listening sir. |

Juliana7: Unrefined shea butter is one that has not been altered either by adding any chemical substance or being chemically processed. It's also referred to as raw shea butter. Normally, there's a chemical will call hexane, it's usually used in extracting shea butter by most large shea butter producers. It helps to ease the job and also increases the quantity of production. This process would have reduced the natural quality of the shea butter. Also, preservative is used to increase its shelf life. The small scale or local producer don't make use of this so, the butter from them is usually raw because the extraction is done manually and no preservative added (chemical preservative). Logically, it's safe to say buying from local producer is your best bet. Though I can't really say specifically how and where to get raw (unrefined) shea butter but understanding of the above explanation should be of great help/guide. Thanks. 1 Like |

Shea Butter Body Cream Formula 2 (still heating method) Materials: -Bees wax--------1/2 Size of your tomb -Shea butter--------- 1 slab -Oil-------------------2-4 spoons -Fragrance----------as desired -Vitamin E----------1 spoon -Alcohol-------------1-2 spoons (ethanol or IPA(issopropanol)) Looking at the above ingredients, you can see we are getting advanced. PROCEDURES: •Following the same instruction in formula one in melting your shea butter, put the wax together with the butter and stir as they melt together •Add the oil and stir gently By now, you should have turned off the heat. •Add the vitamin E and stir •Add the fragrance and stir together. Finally, pour the content into a container for use. -The wax used will thicken the mixture giving it a nice texture -The vitamin E, apart from it's moisturising effect, it also helps in preserving the product. - the alcohol used is to preserve the product. Since we are trying to avoid chemicals as much as possible, alcohol is the best option. - I'm recommending PKO(palm kernel oil) because of its anti-ageing properties but you may use any oil of your choice, just make sure you know what you are doing. Also, when heating ensure that you don't over heat the ingredients or else the healing properties of your ingredient will be lost. Thanks. 6 Likes 6 Shares |
