If you have a B.Sc without good social skills, you may end up poor.

If you have School cert with good social skills, you might make something out of life.

So being successful (making money) is not a solely dependent on university degree bt determination and creativity.

4 year universities, IMO, are some of the biggest educational scams the world over, wasting the young and agile years of youths in exchange for tuition money and learning concepts that will likely not apply to the student's life. The worst off are those cretins in the US and UK who pay exorbitant fees (up to $60k a year) to meet artificially constructed social standards.

No one needs 4 years of generalist, repetitive education to make it in life. Many of the concepts taught at university (even those in the hard sciences) can easily be appended to the secondary school curriculum... students at the senior secondary school stage of life are already aware of their natural abilities and will be capable of handling a college level workload in their desired course of study.

An efficient education standard would be increasing the number of secondary school years from 6 to 7 or 8 years. The latter 3 years in this system can be dedicated to classes that are attuned to a student's choice of study.

After which, they would be well equipped to make it in the workplace, or in specialized graduate schools if they are interested in research (arts, engineering, sciences, etc).

Less educational expenditure for the government and people, and more time for individuals to actually live life.

One of the major reasons why we are here on earth is to be successful. Although success has different meaning to different people, but it should be emphasized that attending university or not is not a prerequisite to being successful in life. It is not even determine by maybe you attend school or not. 'Attending' and 'not attendin' are just two paths to two ends (success and no-success). Some attended and are today successful, while some who attended are no where to be found. The same applies to those who did not attend. So, if you attend, it is either you are successful or not, and if you dont attend, it is either you are successful or not. To be successful in life has nothing to do with attending or not but to be favoured by God to receive a special grace - grace that surpasses all grace. That is when one will be successful in life. The race does not belong to the swift neither does the fight belong to the strong... Only the Grace of God can make one successful in life. Forget about maybe you have certificate or not, forget about your background, forget about your grade in school. If you will be successful in life, you will surely be successful. By the way, be educated. You dont get Education only in school. Education is everywhere. My prayer is that God in his infinite mercy will direct and favour me in everything in this life. AMEN

the society care for only what u can over
^^^^^ yet most companies will state education qualification for its job seekers

bonus: if u didn't have the opportunity to be educated make sure or children do .

in addition, success is not in the

I love this.

But we should understand fews things here

Education begets enlightenment, exposure and knowledge which every Great man possesses however Nigerians today think Western education is the only sort of education, we don't teach our kids African values, our history, our culture, language.
we don't let our kids develop independently and discover themselves we force our opinions on them and lock away their true potential
Every mother and father wants PhD children in medicine, engineering, law

Going to school, sitting in class and passing exams doesn't make your future bright...it's your life style- that is ur approach to life which is built by hard work and intelligence...you don't get this from university
Although you night need it to make it out of university

missberrypop5: hmmm, that they didn't go to the university doesn't mean that they're illiterates. Illiterates don't even know the route to school talk of school itself. At least, most of them finished collage, they are educated enough. So pls, know the difference between Illiterates and educated people.
