Why must you selectively focus on the highlighted? Anyways, Soludo backed his analysis with facts and figures which I wholeheartedly agree with. I'm proud of him and I've commented on the thread. I can spot Chino on that thread with his other handles running from pillar to post to contain the damage done by Soludo. grin

Even Soludo does not believe that bogus poverty statistics made by a Yoruba man. I believe he is only using it to get at Obi, because of their personal history.

I equally believe that Soludo was what Anambra needed, and like most Ndi Anambra, was angry with the way Obi rendered him politically useless in Anambra, but personal grudges must remain personal and not be placed ahead of group interest.

I don't know how good other aspects of Peter Obi tenure was, but road construction is what any blind man can see, and in road construction, Obi had excelled.

you are disgracing yourself with this assertion. Yoruba man does not arise in this case because Anambra is not the only igbo state. It was not a Yoruba man when Anambra was the least in Nigeria. If you read the article you'll see the claim was made by Soludo's friend at a dinner not Soludo so personal issues does not arise. Soludo merely agreed because facts were involved and that's what you ought to do if you are unbiased. You can spin it anyhow you like but the facts will still be staring at you!
I don't want to repeat myself over the roads issue.

You truly believe that Ndi Anambra are on the average poorer than Niger state people?

How much did Peter obi invest on Anambra people while saving his money is what you should ask not the erroneous thinking that Anambra people are all making money from trading. Peter obi placed an embargo on employment, no LG and councillorship election, no empowerment or jobs for youths, civil servants were one of the least paid in the country. IGR stood at 500 million (lower than even Niger and Ebonyi) These are things you should consider as an educated fellow.

I don't know what else Peter Obi did other than the visible roads he did that I saw, and I only praised him for that aspect of his governance.

But if you believe the bogus stats that Ndi Anambra are poorer than Niger state people, then you are not being objective.

And moreover, Soludo was comparing apples with oranges, the poverty stats that placed Anambra as the state with least level of poverty rate was conducted by Kpakol led NAPEP, their stats were credible as it reflects the reality on ground. The one Soludo is using to judge Obi was conducted by the much politicized National Bureau for stats, headed by a Yoruba man and is clearly politicized and at odds with the reality on ground.

stop beating about the bush and come forward lets know what you stand for. Why is the Yoruba man after obi particularly, why didn't he name ebonyi, imo, Abia, Enugu etc as the poorest? On what index do you say poverty level was higher in Niger state? on civil servants remuneration, agriculture, youth empowerment, local government administration? Talk like an educated fellow.
I commend the present administration for trying to right these wrongs. Obiano has consistently said he will increase civil servants salaries immediately revenue improves. We know what he is also doing in Agriculture. etc. Its a pity that for people like you whenever Anambra is mentioned traders come to your mind.

I stand for the good roads Obi constructed, he should be commended for that.

The NAPEP stats is a better stat, as they are more on ground than the NBS that stay in Abuja conjuring stats out of their anus.

There must be a monumental disaster of epic proportions, perhaps a natural disaster, for Anambra to transform from the least poverty stricken state to one of the poorest within a decade. The NBS stats is irrational/Illogical, probably cooked up to massage some people's ego, and not in agreement with the NAPEP stats nor with the realities on ground.

Peter Obi could have easily gone down in memory as the best Governor of Anambra State, the reason is that he had a team of solid think tanks that adviced him on what to do with Anambra. His greed and hurry to become the richest dude in the State limited his implementation of the projects
The moment Goodluck added him to the economic team, I knew there was something amiss. My immediate impression was that corruption and money laundering will be phenomenal, here is somebody whose experience in banking was at a time when Bank Ex were specialist in siphoning raw cash. The unlucky CEOs were caught our man knew his onions in the business and always escaped the hook.
Anambra is different, Ezeife was made to return N300million in a now defunct bank to Anambra account in 1995. I have a strong belief that Obi's case will not be different and we talking of staggering billions this time

Although, I don't like Buhari's method, he will not win anyway, but somehow sometime Obi will be forced to make the returns to Anambra
For those saying he constructed roads over 90% of the roads he did at standard costs per Kilometer are laden with pot holes. The fiscal prudence of such roads is highly questionable

Good roads indeed and yet we can't recall again how many roads Obiano has flagged off in less than one year now. I know you are probably confusing some Ngige roads for Peter obi because they look as though they were constructed yesterday!
do you expect me to take economic information from you over a former CBN governor. You can believe what you want but at the end facts are still facts. this article has gone viral, even the president I know is reading it.

Cut Soludo some slack, he is a human being with feelings. Seriously I don't know if I would do better if put in the same position Obi put him.

But everything has a limit, group interest comes before personal ones. Accepting a Yoruba( NBS) inspired labelling of Anambra as a poverty stricken state just to get back at Obi is totally inexcusable.

Freeglobe, you must know that I am not and have never been a fan of Obi on this forum, but I would be biased not to commend him on the good work he did on Anambra roads.

I for one was also prevailed upon to drop my own ambition for a more older and senior candidate when I wanted to go for the state house of the assembly . I didn't let loose my supporters to cause trouble neither did I insult anybody. I quickly went back to my job and business because I had something doing other than politicking. It still does not stop me from supporting the government effort at development and advancement of Anambra. I knew that bigger thing is in the pipeline. Anambra is bigger than Chino, Soludo, Obi and Obiano. We should all know that fact!

Yes, I'm a very big jonathan supporter. I know there is no reason for Soludo to support Jonathan because of what Jonathan did to his governorship ambition especially in 2010. He also criticized Buhari and dismissed his manifesto so it's not like he's supporting Buhari either. He may have some grudges to settle with obi too but it does not dismiss the truth in what he wrote about him.

This guy, your dislike for obi no get part two.
About prof's write up, i must commend soludo for being neutral ( if he actually is). His analysis of Gej's economic policies is something that should be taken very seriously. It would make sense if the Nigeria Electoral Debate group make use of some of the salient points raised by the prof as basis for the forthcoming presidential debate.
About Peter obi, i dont entirely blame the prof for seizing this opportunity to take a jab at the man who disgraced him politically. But wasn't Soludo the same person that sang Obi's praise before the primaries in 2013? Soludo needs to be careful when saying certain things. He shouldn't drag Anambra's name to the mud simply because he wanna make his point.
