ratiken: As regards Fashola's university caper...the problem is that at current funding rates, LASU is not being sufficiently funded. For it to be sufficently funded, at least half the state's IGR must be spent on the university (Now, that is not possible). You raise a lot of good questions, except for the university issue. The problem is that it isn't LASU experiencing this issue....at around the same time last year, some federal universities raised fees. This is as a result of the Federal Govt telling ASUU last year that they did not have enough money to fufil the extra funding promise made in 2009. The sum of what I am trying to say is this....Nigerian Universities need a raise in funding to be able to compete with the best abroad. And since there isn't enough oil money to go round anymore...it is going to come from increased fees. Here, read the article I linked below... Rich kid, poor kid the fallacy of education subsides in Nigeria Funding Nigeria's University education 1 Like |

manutdadex: The slow but steady unraveling of the smart crooks in Alausa house is gaining momentum. IGR grew from N7.2 billion in the whole of 1999 to N246 billion in 2013 with borrowings from different angles, including the JagaBandit's offshore accounts plus OFF Balance Sheet donations from companies etc yet the BASICS of modern life are not provided. Such basics like: - TAP water - well maintained and expanding FEEDER roads - education for ALL our children (for which LASG received extar allocation of almost N6 billion from the federal government's UBEC) - Primary Health Clinics and General hospitals 5 Likes 1 Share |

I60 Billion Naira! Fashola and is goons are crooks. I wonder why Nigeria leaders can be so lazy. What about the internally generated revenue (IGR), the state claims to be making? I see know reason why they can't use the funds generated internally on state project. It's so unfortunate how our leaders as mortgaged the lives of the unborn child in Nigeria. The more they borrow, the more we're enslaved to the west and the asians...Modern-day slavery. 3 Likes |

gregg2:If you call Fashola analytical report on how debt incurred is been managed what would you say to $20b that disappeared like thin in the air. 2 cases of money laundry in SA. Romance of criminals while judiciary is been structure to be given judgment base on money bag. There is no country in the world who doesn't borrow money but most important thing is judicious spending of the money. If the money is spent for its purpose why d distraction noise? PDP has spent trillion of dollars on electricity with Zero achievement. Sure-p is another clear platform that PDP is using to finish Nigerians. PDP in the central has not completed single road since it's advent in the country, even boko haram it claim to be it's priority never witness any progress. We need another person to continue and rescue this country from PDP. the outdated management style of PDP will continue add salt into injury. The padi padi government under PDP has come to an end. The heading is misleading. Note that LASG does not owe world bank 160bn. This amount is the summation of all the external and internal debts including the world bank, bond, etc. He has also explained that of this amount #51bn is due to be repaid by FG, #82bn is already in the conservative account making #133bn. The balance is #27bn. This means before Fashola leaves office he would have kept sufficient amount in the account for the repayment of the bond because the commisioner for finance of the state has once said about 15% of the IGR goes into an annuity account for debt repayment . Fashola is the best. Haters can go and die( in the words of Oshio Baba) 6 Likes |

ibedun: Folks like this are the worst advertisement for APC. How many times, with all the disagreements, have you seen PDP supporters calling APC chieftains/leaders foo.ls? You never get to hear such, you may hear them accuse them of being 'thieves' in Nigerian context but not the kind of personalized insult that flow freely from APC members against the number one citizen of their own country and other leaders that they disagree with. There is definitely something wrong with a political movement that encourage their followers to insult the leaders of their country personally just because they disagree with them or their approach to governance. 2 Likes |
