The suspended slab or decking for the water tank is sized for maximum of three tanks for building One and two for building Two, we intend to install two tanks for each building. There will be no tank on the kitchen decking , we decked the kitchen solely for fire outbreak protection. Kitchens being the most likely place building fire often occur. The kitchen suspended slabs would be roofed as if no decking were there.

For the first floor a total 4,700-5,000 9'' block were used. 4,500 Naira per 100 block charged as mason labour ( Bricklayer 3,000 Naira, Labourer--1,500 Naira ).

For Lintel the Carpenter collected 25,000 Naira . For columns casting Bricklayer ( mason ) collects 4,000 Naira,------- Labourer ( Mallams ) 2,00-3,000 naira per day depending on amount of casting done.

The Columns reinforcement Iron bars were done in piecemeal, we paid per amount of work done daily. A good guide to how much you pay Artisans ( Carpenters, Bricklayers, Iron bender etc ) is ₦3,000 per day work. Labourers ( Mallams ) ₦ 1500-₦2000 per day work. The amount of work to be done is often contentious. From my experience contract is better. Negotiate the amount of work to be done and the price before commencement

The 7k per flat is the estimated Carpenter labour cost we paid for this project. Each flat is two bedroom, all materials including nails were bought by us. As I said in one of the previous posts, it's for lintels only (and few adjoining columns). We cast most of the columns before Lintel.
