GBTYO:. Buhari wey no get Shishi to contribute wan milk Rivers dry for campaign. Amaechi's problem is that when you think you're too smart, a perceived mugu will eventually use you to scrub ground. A school cert Northerner is more politically savvy than a prof from the South, except some South-Westerners who understand the game. 1 Like |

There is no way APC would give Amaechi VP. The power brokers will never allow that. Even in time to come he would hardly be recognised. Remember he singlehandedly denied Atiku the ticket- sin number 1. He led the rejection of Tinubu as VP.-sin number 2. These men are the two other legs of the tripod APC stands. They would want to pay him back. 2 Likes |

All of you laughing about Ameachi not geting VP slot. Although I am disappointed he didn't get it, I can't remember seeing Ameachi showing much interest in it. He's not crying or fighting anybody to get the post for himself, so what's your own? Amaechi from what I have seen has been more like a backbone to APC. Giving them his support because he seems to believe so much in APC. I believe he's more like investing in the future. Making his mark and carving a niche for himself. 1 Like |

kcswat: It is difficult for some to see that being a team player is the only way especially for minority groups and knowing that when the chips are down who are your reliable alliances. President Jonathan supporters on Nairaland are perceived as a group of highly abusive, rude, etc who are not able to give reasoned arguments to support him and are not doing him any favours in selling him to the masses. As a country we are turning our backs on each other and our strongest world allies and slowly running 9ja to the ground. Its not a social club we need leaders who will work with others even when they might not like them or all about them. There are no perfect humans anywhere. 1 Like |

cramjones:The Igbos are the smartest politicians. They know when to oppose and when to support. They know at this point nobody can unseat a SS man from power and we are not opposed to the North. An Igbo man would prefer not to have the presidency at all than having one that will dance to the tune of other tribes. Igbos don't play second fiddle. 12 Likes |

You ve all failed to realise that Amechi is a potential president or VP after APC first tenure in office. They must have zoned presidency and VP to each regions for peace to reign and that is Why Northerner was given the presidential slot now while Yoruba was given VP. The two regions were given these slots for obvious reasons. I can assure you that when it's d turn of South South to present their candidate for either VP or presidency, d battle would be between Osho Baba and Amechi. And trust me, having washed his hands(Amechi) and dined with elders, Amechi ll easily win the primary against Osho. Amechi is only Washing the ground for future purpose |

courage54:they say a man who do not know where the rain started beating on him will never know where it stops. If you believe GEJ is clueless then what would you say of president obasanjo and some northerners who failed to address poverty and lack of education in thier region? OBJ used EFCC effectively and brought GSM. Haha. Let us not be clouded by sentiments. OBJ had the power, I mean the unquestionable power to have fixed our refineries and power sector but failed, it takes a man without a military uniform to unbundle the monopoly of PHCN thereby giving power to people like you to sue the Distribution companies for epileptic supplies, yet you are not using it. But complain everyday. I mean what stops Landlords in streets, companies, markets unions from forming a strong unions to kick against some of the activities of these companies? It takes GEJ to pass the FOI bill so you can ask questions, talk and criticize the way you want. But are you asking your counselors and LG chairman and even governors questions too? It takes GEJ to release the allocation owed to Lagos by OBJ and is still complimenting it by still constructing and repairing the oshodi-Apapa and Third mainland bridge respectively as well as other roads in the south west and the country at large. It takes GEJ to remodel the MMA which is in Lagos and other airports that are not in his state of origin to a better look except you never visited it before he came to power. It takes GEJ to reactivate the railway starting from an opposition states like Lagos and Port Harcourt while also doing for others. It takes him to appoint an intelligent south westerner to man the agricultural sector, which have really improved greatly from the past. Dams are built, our universities and other institutions have received more fund from GEJ than the previous administrations if you do not know go and find out. Sure-P, You-win and some graduates internship programs have been set up to help youths and never forget that it was GEJ that increased the salary of corp members from #5k or #9k to #19800k. On the economy, the minister of finance wanted them to save through the excess crude fund, but many rep members and governors kicked against it, and now blaming GEJ. Mind you the economic meltdown is not affecting Nigeria alone, the middle east, some European countries and African countries are also feeling the pain. Italy is implementing the austerity measures too. On corruption, yes, he is not doing well but what is the house of reps members who receives fat emoluments done to help us and the government fight corruption. Are APC members not there too? Finally in crisis, we southeast, south south and southwest people bash ourselves on this platform. The southeasterners gives useful information to security agents in thier regions to help reduce the menace of kidnapping, the south southerners speaks to thier children to lay down thier arms, the southwesters kick against injustice but the northerners, who are been affected directly by terrorism have not told us how they want to quell the situation or how they want to help the government to solve the insurgency in thier region. Yet they believe power is thier exclusive right and until they come on board the problem should continue. Only immediately ihejirka left office, they wanted to crucify him in ICC and we all know what damage the sect did to lives and properties in that region after then. Even extending the emergency rule was a problem and it was during the period that the kano mosque and other places was bombed. GEJ is not perfect. But I believe, laying a new foundation for a new building is the most difficult part of any building. We are watching. He that doesn't know where the rain starts, will not know where it stops. I hope GEJ victory at the poll come next year will not cause many to commit suicide? 12 Likes 4 Shares |

cramjones:This is arrant nonsense. You have postulated that Igbo hate Hausa fulani and that Yoruba nation is home and dry by an alliance few Yoruba are into with the core North and that Igbo have lost out? Do you in your widest dream think that Gmb will win Jeg? I suppose Igbo nation by her stance is on the right path. The working alliance bw Ss and Se took others napping. If it is sustained, they will hold Nigeria by the balls economically and politically.Ss/Se will never vote Gmb because the Hausa Fulani version of Islam is anti education, anti progress, anti development,so oppressive that they are against what Se/Ss stand for now. It is even embarrassing to most Yoruba as progressives seeing few religious bigots pulling them towards Core North. Water and oil don't mix well. Gmb Achilles heel is the Middle belth.plateau, benue, taraba, nasarawa, adamawa, southern Kaduna, kwara, kogi, southern bauchi, niger, gombe, then in Sw ekiti,Lagos ogun.watch out in next and get back to me. Performance is not the criterion, ethnicity and religion are still at the forefront when the chips are down.He that stands need no fall.I think Igbo have crawled back to the centre and you want them come out and be fighting from the fringe. But in all honesty, what I think you should be concerned is to amend the constitution to devolve power at the centre for the component units to develop at their pace and priority. I assure you with the present setup of this country,no body no matter how disciplined, religious, astute, ethnicity will give you the Eldorado you so much yawn for. 5 Likes |
