I don't have a problem with it. Matter of fact, it's a move I would support but I am thinking of how practical that approach would be given that you and your husband may have a need to see a programme or two on television.

You lead by example and so you have to be ready to live without watching TV or just watch it rarely. I rarely watch TV, I listen to the radio and I read a lot. I only watch TV once or twice a week for 2-3 hours so it won't be difficult for me to live without it. I will only switch it on for a little when my kids sleep. I have ABSOLUTELY no problem with it. There is too much trash on TV anyway and I don't feel like seeing it. Waste of time.

As my kids grow, I will choose the channels they have access too. Not everything on TV is bad. Some programs are educative. And I love films so they can watch a good film with me when they grow older.

Just be careful before someone jazz u into being her husband.

And I trust that most teachers will choose proper and age-appropriate programs for educative reasons and show a film or a scene or a program every now and then and not let kids consume everything a TV program has to offer for long hours. I have no problem with that. Apart from that, where I live children go to school at the age of 6.

And when you see what is shown on TV even in the morning or afternoon, you should be worried that it will have a negative impact on your kids. I am not only talking about se*xually loaded contents but also about violence and other stuff.

Not everyone has to do it like me, no TV at all till they are six but parents should choose the programs their kids see carefully and little kids should not spend more than an hour in front of the TV per day.

I agree with you that tv is playing a major role in the corrupting of young minds. But if u stop tv, what abt their friends at school, the ones with mobile fones with web access. What abt people who dress like indecesently? Parenting has never been any more difficult than in this period we live it. Parents will need all the help they can get.

True. You cannot control everything and you shouldn't. It would make you and your kids go crazy.

What you have mentioned there is the reason why in many countries the educated folks move to areas with other other educated people who are enlightened enough to raise their kids in a certain way.

You can partly influence the environment your kids grow in and you can also choose a good school, if you have the means.

Or,alternatively,depending on your location,get an elderly woman of about 60yrs plus to come and clean your house during the weekends,then allow a trusted drycleaner to handle your clothes,then let another person take care of the cooking or you can consult all those local eatries to cook some good soup for you. That way,no one is living with you @ home and no temptation is there too.
